This week on the farm the horses were due for their dental check-up. Trooper and I of course were on hand for moral support.
Because who in their right mind likes to go to the dentist? Especially when you have to wear this type of contraption on your face!
Trooper always tries to be Mr. Helper, offering to hold supplies – mostly towels. That dog has an unhealthy obsession with towels if you ask me! I didn’t have the heart to tell him that they aren’t necessary tools for a dental exam.
I on the other hand just like to wait and see if there are any loose pony teeth, because I hear the tooth fairy will shell out double for horse teeth!
One thing can always be certain after a visit from the horse dentist though…..
….Trooper and I will be sure to brush our teeth extra well to avoid having to visit the dentist ourselves! Those tools look scary!
Ammo, ou are certainly right. Those things are scarey looking. I try to brush my dachshund’s teeth every day. It’s peanut butter flavor so she mostly eats it. LOL!
Ammo – you and Trooper are great friends to be there offering moral support to the ponies!
Ammo, you and Trooper helped the ponies to be brave I am sure.
The good news for dogs is they’re not as prone to cavities as human beings are. But despite the old conventional wisdom that a dog’s mouth is cleaner than a humans, dogs can still develop problems like tartar and plaque buildup and gingivitis. Looks like Ammo and Trooper had a great time! Enjoyed reading your post! 🙂
Ammo and Trooper are such sweet friends hanging around to provide moral support to the horses. I usually have a hard time trying to brush my pup’s teeth because he likes to chew on it and had to play tug-of-war with the toothbrush between his teeth! So I have to make sure he gets his commercially available treats that will clean between his teeth.
I know what you mean. I’m sneaky & like to grab all the toothpaste off the brush before mom even gets it in my mouth! Sometimes dental chews are just a bit easier (and tasty too)
