Being a dog with an odd shaped body (hello short legs and long body) I know how hard it can be to find pet clothing that fits. And lets be honest, looks cool too!
Thanks to my friends at Pepper Petwear I’ve found a new company that can accommodate any dog shaped body you can imagine!
Their handmade in Hungary dog coats, jackets, dog raincoats, dog sweaters, and dog collars can be made to fit any breed! You can even choose custom colors in several different styles. I decided to test out the Extra Warm Winter Coat (for those cold Pennsylvania winters) in the turquoise with grey fleece.
After sending off my measurements it arrived in the mail not long after. One of my favorite features it that it’s got lots of velcro straps for plenty of adjustments (should your dog’s weight ever change, or perhaps you want to add an extra layer for warmth underneath).
My new jacket even has these great reflective strips on the sides for added visibility.
I also requested the addition of a harness hole, which makes it easier for me to put my seatbelt on in the car or go for a walk when I’m wearing my harness underneath.
When I’m asked to review pet products I take the job pretty seriously, and no dog coat gets my stamp of approval without testing on the farm. Because lets face it, farm life is not exactly gentle on pet wear and I had to make sure it would stand up the rigors of all my outdoor adventures.
My new Pepper Petwear coat held up for (repeated) trips under the farm fencing.
It survived excursions in the manure pile (and didn’t stink too terribly bad afterwards).
It didn’t rip when I climbed through brush and sticks.
It still gave me plenty of freedom to dig (and didn’t hold onto the dirt).
And most importantly I could still run just as fast while wearing it! I’d say it’s definitely Ammo the Farm Dog APPROVED!
If you’d like to snag your pet one of these great coats be sure to visit Pepper Petwear! You can even use code pepperpetwear10 for 10% off your order!
And don’t forget, they can make coats for big dogs too, and with Spring just about here it’s the perfect time to grab your dog a new raincoat!
Now for the best part…

Very handsome in your new coat Ammo!
My dachshund isn’t super rough on her sweaters but she does get them muddy often so we have to wash them a lot.
I love seeing all the pics of you on the farm 🙂 And you look great in your new coat Ammo! My doxie mix, Ruby, can be rough on her coats when she is exploring the outdoors too 🙂
Your coat is so attractive, Ammo. And I love the color.
This coat looks great! Also like it has good chest and tummy coverage.
We have doxies too, and when it’s damp out, they seem to kick up a lot of sand and dirt from the road onto their chest and tummy.
This coat looks like it would not only fit great, but keep my sweeties warm AND clean!! 😀
I should show this to my mommy…I hope she gets me one of these really awesome jackets!
That coat looks so great! My dog isn’t really rough on his clothes but we wash them often.
I would love to win this coat for my dachshunds. Usually my dogs don’t wear out their clothing.
I’ve got 2 that would love it
Ammo, that’s a great-looking coat, thanks for telling us about it and doing the giveaway. And, as always, you are a truly dapper dachshund!
Too cute Ammo!
Hiya Ammo!!! Wow, that coat looks great on you. I have yet to get any clothes on Rio, but Misty loves her tees and sweaters. They are indoor babies, so she’s not too rough on her things, but since I keep the thermostat low in the winter, she does wear them a lot. This would be great for her. Thanks for having the giveaway. Blessed be, love and hugs!!! Pam, Misty, and Rio
No, not really. Just weather. We don’t have very many fun things to play around in!
We wash dog clothes regularly but fortunately my dog doesn’t chew on them too much.
My Abby isn’t too rough on her jackets. Sometimes she even likes to wear them inside…just in case someone comes and wants to take her for a walk at a moments notice.
Looks like it’s working buddy
Looks like a great coat! Thank you Ammo!
Very nice coat! Fortunately my pup isn’t too rough on his clothes.
Cute jacket! My dog is pretty good about not destroying his clothes. 🙂
Well you tested that out so well, that we’re convinced it would be great to have! We don’t have as much of an opportunity to be as ruff on our clothes as you, but we’do sure like to! Maybe if we had some super durable clothes, mama would let us be more tumble and ruff! Ya!
