Dog Snatcher

I almost got snatched out of my yard the other day. No joke.

I don’t know what it is that tried to snatch me, but it looks like this:
turkey vultureoriginal source unknown

It swoops out of the sky and snatches up little weenies like me. I’m not stupid, when I saw that creature coming for me I cried like a baby and banged on the door until mom came running to let me inside.

Once I was safe inside my big glass dog house I let them have it. Pretty much I told them who’s boss, I don’t think they’ll be coming back anytime soon.

go on….get outta here!

finally I can relax

Ah yes Puddles. Your reputation proceeds you. I have seen your blog. You are one crazy girl, just like me! 🙂

      I agree

  4. We had a little toy chi dog and a red tailed hawk swooped down to get him. Mom was outside sweeping the porch and knocked the hawk outta the sky. Stay safe Ammo!

  5. That happened to us when we first got Sam. There was a hawk outside that kept hovering and flying by. Tom told us to get Sam before the hawk got him. We did! Phew!

  6. Dear Ammo, my mon keeps me safe in a Coyote Vest! They are made for little guys just like us❤️

  7. Luckily for you that bird doesn’t hunt. It was after something already dead. Over here they’re called “cóndor” . Not even a bald eagle could take off carring a 20pounds dog. You’re safe anyway. Glad you’re OK

    • Condors are larger, very rare and not where Ammo lives. Bald Eagles could snatch a dachshund. They have been known to take piglets. and lambs.

Ammo, that picture is of a turkey vulture. He only likes to eat dead things. So maybe he was just teasing you. ?
There are some pretty big hawks or eagles that can be a threat though. I watch my girls carefully outside because we have a pair of Swainson hawks that live by us.
    Stay safe, Ammo

  9. When I first got my baby Abbi, she fit into my hand. When I took her out to to attend to her nature, I hovered over her so the owls, hawks and other flying predators didn’t mistake her for a rat and swoop down and grab her. I had a backache for a while, but I still had her.

    Thanks for the info

  11. Oh no, Ammo! So glad you didn’t get snatched! Would love to see you in a “vulture vest.” LOL!
