Since my mom and minnow up and left me here alone all week while they are living it up on Chincoteague Island, I decided to have my own fun on this fine Friday. And what’s more fun than FREE STUFF?
So I decided to GIVEAWAY one of my very own pieces of scratch art! I made it with my very own paws! This particular piece is called White Dachshund No. 11 and I created it by scratching onto a specially prepared surface that my mom helped me make. It’s on a mauve acid free matboard background – matted in blue to fit an 11×14 frame. Trust me, this thing is a beauty in person! It comes signed by me and includes a certificate of authenticity – so you know it’s not a fake!

SCRATCH ME – My hideout would be anywhere that has air conditioning so I am out of the heat and humidity. Or if I must be outside – it would be in a nice pool. Thank you for the fun giveaway!!

SCRATCH ME – My first summer hideout is on the couch with the AC on. My second summer hideout is at the local school playground, i dig a hole in the sand and sit in it to keep cool. Great artwork!!!
Scratch me…My Doxies, and i have 7 currently in my home, and their 5 other doggie brothers.. (2 labs, 1 pittbull and 2 chi-doxies) favorite summer place to hang out is in their 2 wadding pools out on our deck…We refill them every other day so they have fresh water…. THEY love splashing around in it, or just laying in it cooling off…I also have a fish pond in the yard in which they TRY and catch gold fish, LUCKY the gold fish can dive to the bottom and stay safe/away from the snapping mouths of the doxies… 🙂

SCRATCH ME Ammo! Jasmine’s favorite hideout is under her blankets. I say that in plural because she has MANY blankets (as any dachshund should). She rolls around them so she’s like a pig in blanket. The only way we know she’s there is through the snoring sounds that come out of them! Summer heat is no match for the call of the blanket!

I like to hunt for BigFoot in the local woods – my favorite thing is to sniff out his stinky feets! Sometimes I sneak behind trees or under a bush! But mom and dad have me on a leash, so darn it if they always find me! But I keep trying!

Scratch Me! Kenny’s favorite summertime hideout is the Gallatin River in MT. He recently discovered that he could swim like an otter and now he just jumps in to cool off. Love the artwork Ammo!
SCRATCH ME!!! Kona’s favorite summer spot is the couch downstairs where it’s cooler than his usual sunning spot up in our loft! And during the weekends we visit his cousins an hour away and hang out in the pool all day!!!

Jasper’s favorite summer spot is his mom’s lap. And yes here in the midwest, as w/ most of the US, the heat index is 100+ degrees but that doesn’t matter to him. As soon as I sit down he is always right there to claim his rightful spot. It’s even better if we’re on the couch & he can get to sit in his fav spot & look out the window for squirrels… that’s his heaven!! 🙂

I am allowed to live with my 3 spoiled doxies…and my 4 wonderful doxie fosters…we are all big fans!
Their favorite hiding place is under a big Hibiscus bush in the corner of the back yard. They say that no better place exists to find unsuspecting lizards.

SCRATCH ME!! I have 3 wonderful weinerschnitzels and they love to hide under the bed.
Oscar’s favorite summer spot is on his snuggle pad in the golf cart. He likes to ride out in the pasture for potty breaks. That way he doesn’t over exert himself in the heat.

Ammo – sorry you have missed Minnow and your Mom, but they will be back soon. My Sonny Daze loves to curl up right in the crook of my elbow as I am sitting on the sofa, while Maxi is wrapped around my neck (you know, like one of those dachshund massage thingys), Sienna Rose and Shazta Starfyre are laying beside me and the other boys are rolling on the floor chasing balls. Those of their favorite things, hanging with Mommy and playing – aren’t those YOUR favorite things too? (except for chasing groundhogs)!!!!!
SCRATCH ME!! My Fenway’s favorite hideout is anywhere I am! Most days you can find him curled up in his bed under the desk in my office where I am working. He will stick his head out and rest it on my feet. I feel so loved! When I’m not in my office working he loves my lap! I never feel lonely because Fenway makes sure I always have a friend close by!

SCRATCH ME! My two doxies, Will and Grace, love to hide out under our deck out back. It is cool during the hot summer months and snow-free during the winter (well, a lot less snowy at least). Best of all, it boasts a huge lizard colony for their hunting pleasure! (Not to mention the fact that it is VERY hard for us people to get under there!)
SCRATCH ME!- My favorite hideout is on my mommy’s bed..under her comforter in her bedroom. Sometimes my mommy can’t even find me and has to pat down the comforter until she finds a big lump. I love it in here because she leaves the room dark so I can sleep and the t.v. is on with the sound off in case I want to watch Animal Planet.
