My life is pretty well documented on this blog, but I secretly always wondered what it would be like to take my own photos and videos.
Well with Kurgo’s Tru-fit Smart Harness you can now mount a camera to your dog’s chest or back. Specifically designed to work with GoPro cameras (and the Sony Action Cam), your dog can now catch all the action! I’m pretty sure any videos I took would include lots of digging and hunting!

I just got one. I was SUPER excited but it won’t work for us. The metal plates on the chest and back are big (as they should be). The problem is that the chest one rests right on the tip of Chester and Gretel’s breast bone and the back plate is wider than their shoulders and digs into the back of their neck. I guess it might not work well for 9 and 10 lb Doxies 🙁 Back to the drawing board for us.
Bummer it didn’t work for Chester & Gretel – I weigh about 20 lbs so I wonder if it would fit any different on a bigger Dachshund.

Very nice of you to offer! I do not have one (my Friday fetch products are just cool products I find on my own- not typically ones I get to test myself). However I don’t own a GoPro camera and don’t plan to anytime soon so I’m not sure this harness would do me much good without that. But thank you for the offer!

I love you GoPro videos Crusoe! I wonder if this might be a hard fit for a dachshund though. If you see the earlier comment from Jessica she said she tried this harness on her 9 & 10 pound dachshunds and it didn’t work for them. I weigh about 20 pounds so I wonder if it would fit better on a sturdier sized doxie? Although I do not have a GoPro camera so I don’t anticipate testing this out anytime soon. But if you do end up trying it you’ll have to let me know how it works out. Or perhaps your handy dad can make you a new harness modeled after this one!
I have a knockoff gopro action style camera. How does the camera affix to the vest? Is it a screw or the plastic clip for the waterproof case? I would like one for my lab but not sure what size I need. Or are they adjustable for all size dogs? I also notice the camera can sit on top or under the dog. Same harness does both if you want? Very cool!

Mike, you will have to contact the makers of Kurgo’s Tru-Fit Harness to get your questions answered, as I have not tested this one myself. Good luck! P.S. Jessica owns dachshunds, so likely the harness she has would not fit you lab anyway.
