Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. I love getting to dress up as something I’m normally not. While I myself tend to go the DIY route when it comes to my costumes, it’s fun to browse through the store-bought options for inspiration and perhaps a little giggle too. One way to keep your pet safe is to keep all candy safely out of reach. Candy of any kind is extremely unhealthy for pets; especially chocolate even if you give them the tiniest piece ever it is just not good for them! To prevent your pets from have any kind of candy you should place candy in high places and let the children know that candy for pets are very dangerous. Also when your kids are eating or throwing the wrapper is very important. Dogs eat anything on the floor if there is a wrapper on the floor and it contains enough chocolate it can be dangerous. If your dogs gets hold of the wrapper it can create a blockage in the esophagus or digestive system, so make sure everyone in your household throw all candy wrappers away in a lidded, secure trash can. Did you know the symptoms if your pets eats chocolate? Well is when your dog eats chocolate some of the symptoms may include vomiting, diarrhea, increased in heart rate, and seizures.
Second way to keep your pet healthy and save during Halloween is to keep your pets away from the door. Trick-or-treaters will be coming up to your door dressed in strange costumes; this can be very stressful, especially for nervous and timid pets. Also keep your dog inside at all times during the night of Halloween. Why? Well there are some pranksters who like to tease, injure, steal, and kill pets on Halloween night. Third way to keep your pets save during Halloween is being careful dressing up your pet. Dressing your pet can be fun, and your dog will no doubt look adorable but, there are some things to consider when dressing your pet up. When dressing up your pet make sure there are no small parts that your pet can choke on, and NEVER put anything around your pets neck expect for your dog collar. Fourth way to keep your pet saves and healthy during Halloween is to be careful when decorating your house. When decorate for Halloween be sure to keep lights and wires out of reach for your pet. The colorful decorations can the change of your home can change your pet’s normal environment it will cause some curiosity and you would want to keep them from getting shocked and by eating the wires.
