Not that long ago I received a very special package in the mail from my pal Sharkie‘s grandma.
Not only did it include this adorable handmade sweater for me, but also some super fun items for my sister and I to enjoy.
Seriously how cute are these poncho, booties, and cowgirl boots for my little sister? I just know she’s absolutely going to love them once she gets here.
But my favorite thing of all was this super awesome bear cowl!
Does it make me look ferocious and bear-like? Well not too ferocious, you know, because I don’t want to be scaring my sister.
Speaking of my sister, Sharkie’s Grandma made her one too! How cool is that!
Since I knew these beautifully made items would be so much fun for my sister and I to wear, I thought it would be appropriate to start practicing my story-time skills (with a bear theme of course) for when she gets here. Unfortunately I don’t own Goldilocks and the Three Bears (you better get on that mom!), but I do have this really fun book about National Parks*, and you all know how much I love the great outdoors!

And of course it has bears! Maybe someday I’ll get to take my sister on a fun road-trip to visit these national parks in person (some of which I’ve already visited myself – and saw bears in too!)
Now I just have to wait for my sister to get here so I can actually read it to her!
Thanks to Suzanne for her amazing crocheting skills. My sister and I will treasure these items always!
Do you have any recommendations for fun bear-themed books I can read to my sister when she comes?
About when is your Sister scheduled to arrive. Our Mom is making something special for her also.
Love Emmy and Cocoa
They tell me by August 1….we shall see! ?

I LOVE your new sweater and your baby sister’s gifts! They are beautiful and you look so handsome in your bear sweater. Tell Mom to bear down and get on with the birthing business! 🙂
You should get “I Love You, Little Bear” (cut out book). It was one of my daughter’s first favorite books!

That bear hood is just so cute! Love how you look in it. Can’t wait to see you and your sister dressed up as bears together 🙂
Is that knit available for purchase from Suzanne? I would love to get one for my doxie!!
She doesn’t typical sell her work, but if you send me your email address I can pass it along to her incase she is interested.
I just found your website and absolutely love it! I too have a dachsie, Fraulein Daisy von Duke, or just Daisy Duke. Would it be possible to find out where your mom got Ammo’s sweater pattern from? My Daisy would love it.
My mom did not actually make this for me, and the person who made it I think did it from scratch. I don’t believe a pattern was used…sorry!!
