Ode to My Mailman
I wonder what it’s like to be a mailman,
To carry all that mail.
I bet I’d look sweet in that uniform,
Even with my furry tail.
I probably wouldn’t want to go outside in bad weather,
So I might not be so great at delivering a letter.
And I’d much rather wait for the mail anyway,
Because my mailman does it so much better!
After all, he always remembers to deliver me a sweet treat! Thanks for all the mail Mr. Mailman!

Awwww that’s so nice you get a little treat tucked in with the mail! We live on a little dead end road so our mailbox is at the end of the road, Cooper can’t see him
Aw, such a shame. Maybe if he barks loud enough the mail carrier will hear and leave a treat! ?
Great poem, Ammo! How lucky you are to have such a nice mailman. Living in the city, we don’t have a mailbox, we have a mail slot in the door. My dachshund Melanie used to rush the door and bark loudly as the mail came in. My husband’s dachshund used to run barking to the door and grab and shake the mail as it came in the door.
Hey Ammo – I bet you’d look great in a mailman uniform! Maybe next year for Halloween? But then, what would the rest of the family be – letters and packages? A mail truck? That is so special that he brings you a little bone-shaped treat everyday! I bet you’re his favorite dog on the route! XXX OOO
Awww – how cute! Our mailman used to bring my guys bisckies every day too! Tucker used to run up the driveway to meet him to get his snackie!
Hiya Ammo!!! That’s a great poem! My babies don’t see the mailman either. I have a post office box. But they do hear the delivery man when he brings their goodies from online shopping. This is such a sweet poem! I can see why you love the mailman so much, that treat looks delicious! You should show him this little tribute. If my dachshund, Rocket got a treat in the mail, he would go crazy. Until then, he couldn’t care less, ha!
