Friday Fetch: Halloween Addition

With about 2 weeks before Halloween there is still plenty of time for you to find that perfect costume! So I decided to create a round-up of some of my favorite costumes available this year!

2011 halloween pet costumes

1. Brasil Soccer Star from D’Pelos Pet Apparel. This one is for my dad, who is a big soccer fan!

2. British Soldier from Wish Pony. Can’t you just picture him riding on his white steed to save the day?

3. The Secretary from Spirit Halloween. You have to admit, you’d get a few laughs with this one!

4. Little Red Riding Hood from Charlie Hearts Disel. Because sometimes minimal works.

5. Banana Split from Old Navy. Honestly, this one just makes me really hungry!

So what are you going to be for Halloween?

Friday Fetch: Voyagers K9 Apparel

voyagers K9 apparel Thanks to my pals over at Dog Milk, I now have a new must have item added to my Christmas List (You know, since my Birthday week is sadly coming to an end today). A winter coat from Voyagers K9 Apparel! The coolest part about their trendy looking coats – they make them to custom fit specific breeds (mixed breeds included!). Do you know how hard it is to find a coat to fit my short legged/long body? It’s really really hard.

I’m currently loving the tummy warmer coats & the winter coats – now I just have to figure out what color would look best on me! Yellow, Navy, Teal? And I’m hoping they can add a custom D-ring to my jacket so I can use it as a harness too! Oh and I guess I better start behaving now so Santa will just HAVE to get me a new coat for Christmas.

You can fetch your own coat at Voyagers K9 Apparel!

Friday Fetch: Bambi & Friends

bambi and friendsHalloween is just around the corner and it seems as if everyone already has their costumes picked out! I’m embarrassed to say that I still don’t know what I want to be yet.

Dogs like Bambi from Hope Images seem to effortlessly pull off the perfect costume. I’m a wee bit jealous, although to be fair, I really don’t want to dress up like a hot dog – the most obvious solution.

Doe-eyed Bambi here kinda makes me want to run into the forest and bring home a few fawns to call my own. Isn’t she just precious?

You can fetch these photographs of Bambi and her friends from Hope Images on Etsy for $15.

Even these dogs seem to have gotten into the Halloween Spirit:

Kinda makes you want to play dress-up doesn’t it?

Friday Fetch: The Puppoose

puppooseDog tired legs? Just need a rest? Well then I’ve found the product just for you! The Puppoose! I know, the name made me giggle too. According to D.O.G Boutique, where you can fetch this fine item, the Puppoose is the most natural way to carry your pet. It’s designed to fit any small dog and person and is made of luxuriously lightweight, soft fabric.

It’s crocheted design has 4 holes at the base for your little pet limbs and adjustable straps to adjust the length. And just think, your mom (or dad’s) hands would be totally free to do other things, you know, like cook you bacon on the stove!

And apparently it’s a rule that you have to rock out while wearing it…

You can fetch your own Puppoose at D.O.G. Boutique for $59.95.

P.S. Don’t worry, I don’t think I’ll ever be sporting one of these, the pictures (and the product) just make me giggle so I had to share!

Friday Fetch: Pet Calendars

I’m probably pretty accurate when I say most people (and dogs with a busy schedule like me) check a calendar every day of their lives. How else are you going to remember vet appointments play dates, personal appearances, and trips to the pet store?

Well since your calendar is probably your most looked at item, it only makes sense that it should be full of pet swagger! Even though 2012 isn’t here JUST yet, I’ve gathered up some super cool pet-themed calendars from Paper Source.

You can fetch your own 2012 Calendars here.

P.S. If I can get my act together I’m hoping to have my very own “Ammo the Dachshund” Calendar available this Christmas! I’ll be sure to share more details when it’s ready!

Friday Fetch: DIY Collar Bling

diy dog charmsI’m an individual, which means I like stuff that sets me apart from the crowd (How many super hero dachshunds do you know?). So when I came across this DIY tutorial to make your own bling for your collar, I knew at some point I’d be begging someone with hands to make me something cool to wear around my neck!

This tutorial from Jenny Ryan in the Good Dog Magazine gives you details on how to use Sculpey clay to sculpt, then bake, some bling for your own furry friend. Seriously, this is so simple I’m wondering why I didn’t think of it!? You can check out the full tutorial.

So, now the question is, who’s going to make me some super hero bling?

Friday Fetch: Furry and Fancy

adam voorhes photographyI don’t know about you, but I LOVE having my picture taken. Dressing up like someone you aren’t, making silly faces, and simply having a good time! So when I stumbled across the photography of Adam Voorhes (via)- I knew – someday I must meet this guy so he can take my picture!

He somehow manages to make pooches, bears, and even chickens look dignified and fancy – and we all know how scrappy those chickens can be! hehe.

Anyway, here are a few of my favorite shots – you can check out more of his work on his website.

Friday Fetch: Scott Lifshutz Pillows

west elm dog pillowsI don’t know about you, but at my house, the couch is mine! I like to watch my shows on there in the evening, there seems to me no shortage of warm laps to share, and it’s where I snuggle up in blankets for the night. So I figure since it’s MINE, I should probably get to decorate it however I like. That’s why I picked out these fun pet pillows for today’s Friday Fetch.

As part of an exclusive collaboration with west elm, noted pet portraitist Scott Lifshutz created a series of new paintings, including a happy pack of four-legged friends, a hound, and a horse, which are printed in artful watercolor-style silhouette on cotton pillow covers using a special technique to capture and preserve all of the painterly details and nuances of Scott’s originals.

He also designed a series of fun appetizer plates featuring some furry four-legged friends. You can check them out here.

You can fetch Scott’s designs at West Elm for $19 – $29
