Friday Fetch: PetEgo DIY Picasso Bed

Being an artist myself I’m always on the lookout for creative pet products. So when I came across PetEgo’s line of Picasso Pet Beds I was intrigued.

The concept of decorating your pet’s bed yourself with the provided washable markers is to enhance the relationship between you and your pet. The fun of being personal designers for our pets adds a unique touch to the enjoyment of being pet owners. This looks like a great product for kids to be involved with too!

Friday Fetch: Go! Pet Design

Modern and stylishly designed pet items is the name of the game for Go! Pet Design. While studying industrial design at Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute, Peter Pracilio found himself making his first dog crate for his rescued miniature pincher who needed his own digs. He furthered his love of design and pets by creating Go! Pet Design, which sells a variety of pet items, here are a few of my favorites:

Friday Fetch: The Original Toasty Pet Bed

I stumbled across The Original Toasty Pet Bed from The Toasty Pet Company on Etsy and I couldn’t help but think how utterly unique (and cute) it was!

The Toasty Pet Bed is made of durable and cozy sherpa fabric and the back and sides are hard-wearing fabric. The filling is a very durable solid foam that can be removed. It’s great for small and medium-sized dogs (and all-sized cats).

Friday Fetch: Petnovate Pull Stop Dog Harness

As a small dog you would be surprised at the amount of force I can produce during a walk when I want to. And while I wouldn’t say I’m a “bad” puller, it got me thinking about what products are out there for dogs that do like to pull. I stumbled across the Petnovate Pull Stop Harness.

The Pull Stop Harness is a no pull dog harness that uses your pet’s own pulling force to act against its front legs. When your pet pulls to a point that it’s walking faster than you, the force that you begin to feel at the leash starts to act against your pet’s front legs, which slows your pet down and thus reduces the pulling altogether. Pull Stop does so without applying any squeezing or discomfort to your pet.

While I’m not sure how well this would work on a small dog (although this does come in small dog sizes), I bet there are some big dogs out there that could benefit from a product like this!

Friday Fetch: Handmade Dog Journals from Vintage Books

When a friend recently posted a link about a small company that makes journals out of ex-library books I knew I had to check it out. And when I spotted a few dog themed journals from Ex Libris Anonymous I knew I had to share it with all of you!

Not unlike a snowflake, a soft puppy, or a slice of warm pie, every journal we make here at ex libris anonymous is one-of-a-kind, unique, and completely unrepeatable experience. We start by exhaustively searching for the most interesting recycled books we can find, and after carefully curating our favorites, we salvage the covers (and selected pages) of the lucky book to create a very special journal.

The coolest part is that you can even send them one of your vintage books to be turned into your very own journal!

Here are a few that caught my eye:

If my backyard had a solid fence, then the Pet Peek would be at the top of my “must have” list! The Pet Peek is a durable plastic dome that can create a window view in any solid fence for your dog. This DIY project is a must have for any dogs that want a “peek” outside their own yard!

My life is pretty well documented on this blog, but I secretly always wondered what it would be like to take my own photos and videos.

Well with Kurgo’s Tru-fit Smart Harness you can now mount a camera to your dog’s chest or back. Specifically designed to work with GoPro cameras (and the Sony Action Cam), your dog can now catch all the action! I’m pretty sure any videos I took would include lots of digging and hunting!

Friday Fetch: Clickit 3 Point Safety Harness for Dogs

Most of you know that I’m all about safety. I wear a seatbelt in the car and have used the k9carfence, I wear a life vest when on the water, and I even wear a stunt helmet when performing tricks! So when I came across this new safety harness for dogs from Sleepypod I was intrigued.

Clickit is the first dog safety harness to incorporate three-points of attachment to absorb force in a frontal collision by dissipating energy and keeping the dog in the car seat during an impact. Clickit can also be used in the cargo area and includes a d-ring on the back of the vest so it can be used as a walking harness.

Check it out for yourself in this crash test:
