My Dad loves to go golfing, he says it’s one of his most favorite things to do. So you can imagine my disappointment that dad hasn’t invited me along on any of his golf outings yet. But all that is about to change, because I’ve been practicing….
See, I’m off to find the holes!
As some of my facebook fans may have already seen, I had a glorious time over the weekend, and it looked a little something like this:
Oh yes, it was the perfect combination of horse poop, mud, dead animal, and wet!
I was basking in the glow of my dirtiness, and so excited to show mom and dad, that is until the word BATH was mentioned!
“But mom, it’s the perfectly pungent summertime aroma – I know, because I smelled it”.
My pleas were unheard as I found myself in the ponies’ wash stall – it was utter disappointment.
When it was all over I smelled like roses and sunshine……it was HORRIBLE! Oh well, live to stink another day!
Over the weekend I took a trip to one of the local baseball fields in my town.
I practiced running the bases (you know for when I hit a home run), and found myself wishing I hadn’t left my baseball glove at home.
And just when I thought my baseball team was only going to consist of me and my shadow…..my pal Shilah showed up!
Shilah (being the puppy that she is) didn’t really have the attention span to play a game of baseball with me, so we decided to take a walk around the park instead.
We sniffed for buried treasures, and I showed Shilah how fast I can run! (It’s really really fast incase you were wondering)
And when we were done with our adventure at the park I invited Shilah back to my house for a cookout!
Back at my house we had fun romping in the backyard, and I even let Shilah borrow my mom and her camera. Sometimes even celebrities like me need to share their paparazzi.
Shilah is quite the looker isn’t she?
Then, right before dinner we had to break out my pet first aid kit for a little uh oh!
See Shilah had been so busy playing in the backyard that she didn’t even notice that she had broken a toenail (those silly girls and their long nails).
Not to worry though, Shilah’s mommy took great care in doctoring her up. We cleaned it up and applied some antibiotic ointment.
Shilah had to spend the rest of the evening in my xpen “resting”, but I know she’ll be back for a visit in no time and we’ll be romping around in the backyard again hunting for treasures and rolling in stink. Maybe I’ll buy her a nail file for Christmas. *wink*

My family and I had quite a whirlwind weekend – with an extra day off for both mom and dad we always find time to fit in even more fun!

Today is my best friend Trooper’s 6th Birthday!
Trooper has been by my side since I was just a wee pup. He taught me everything I know, and protected me when I was too tiny to do so myself. In the past 6 years we’ve had so many adventures, and I can’t wait for all the fun that is still yet to come!

Recently mom picked up a new toy for me called the Pickle Pocket
My new pickle toy is different from many of the other treat dispensers I’ve tried. This one contains three lengthwise slits across the product which are meant to hold your dog’s favorite snack or kibble.
Mom has been experimenting stuffing it with lots of different things like string cheese, peanut butter, cookies, dog food, and even hot dogs.
I can honestly say that this toy takes a bit of work to get the yummies out. Five cookies takes me about 20 minutes to eat – and I’m an expert at treat dispensing!
The Pickle Pocket also boasts that it’s virtually indestructible (so far it’s survived my shark-like teeth), FDA approved, floats in water, and is dishwasher safe.
Even though this toys takes a bit of work on my part, I’m not complaining, because a constant flow of cookies is NEVER a problem!

Every once in a while you get that itch. That itch to play and dart, and RUN!
And then just like that you’re off like a rocket. Faster than a speeding bullet you run, thinking maybe you’ll never come back.
But then mom digs around in her pocket and finds a leftover goldfish. Darn those gold fishes, they’re just so delicious.
And just like that you find yourself screaming…… “I’m coming mom, I’m coming…..don’t eat it…..I’m coming!”

Today is National High-Five Day! Only the greatest day ever, especially if you like to high-five like me!

When the weather starts to warm up I always know that I will be spending a lot more time in the bathtub than I’d really care to.
Arguably it’s not my favorite thing in the World, but I like to think I’m pretty tolerable of the deed.
And it’s really not that BAD, especially since mom always provides cookies. A bath without cookies is like rolling in dead worms with a coat on – pointless – and precisely what got me into this mess in the first place.
After bath time I’m left smelling like sunshine and daisies – not what super awesome dogs that dig holes in the backyard and hunt for bunnies should be smelling like. So it’s best to rub that smell off as quickly as possible.
Pretty soon I’ll be dry and looking for my next big thing to roll in. This time I’m thinking horse manure and kitty litter – if I plan it just right then mom won’t have time to give me a bath before we go to work. Always gotta be thinking! Smell ya later, xoxo
