Memorial Day, a time to remember all of the fallen soldiers who have fought to protect this wonderful place I call home. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
xoxo,Â
While I wouldn’t necessarily say that Trooper and I are old just yet, we have grown up together over the past 7 years. One of my fondest memories is spending my working days at the shop with my best buddy and wrestling on the shop floor..
Fast forward about 6 years and I’m happy to report that not much has changed….
Something tells me we’ll never be too old to wrestle!
Does your dog still enjoy wrestling with their best doggy friend?Â
Disclaimer: this post is brought to you by Martha Stewart Pets. All opinions are my own and I only share products I think you and your dog will love.
So I hear that this weekend is Valentine’s Day. A day to spend time with those that you love, and show them that you care.
So when I got wind that my old fling, Amira, was back in town I knew I was going to have to do something special on February 14th.
So I popped over to Petsmart to snag Amira a gift from the Martha Stewart Pets line and set out to profess my love for her.
Only Amira is a bit high maintenance…..
….and she just rolled her eyes and said “You better bring me some more toys, because one is not enough for this lady.”
Sorry Amira, no girlfriend is worth sharing all my Martha Stewart Pets toys…. you’ll just have to get your own!
Would your dog do the same? Happy Early Valentine’s Day everyone!
When winter storm Jonas hit my area on Friday night I was ready for it! Although when I awoke the next day in the midst of the storm, I wasn’t quite prepared for having to make a trek to find a spot to pee!
Good thing mom was on hand to help me trek through the Blizzard in search of a spot!
Although, I may have gotten a bit distracted as to the purpose of this excursion! I spent most of the day on Saturday curled up inside waiting for the winds and snow to die down so I could actually go outside and play.
By Sunday the storm had ended, and we were left with 26+ inches of glorious snow and I was ready to go outside and play!
Dad thoughtfully shoveled me a potty area in the backyard, but as you know, I like to blaze my own trail!
I know there is a lot of dogs out there that don’t like the cold, wet snow to touch their paws, but I’m not one of them! I love to explore in the snow, and mom and dad end up having to make me come inside because I’ll stay out there until I’m shivering.
Check out the fun video below of me enjoying my snow day….
Eventually I had to help dad clear the driveway, as were were pretty much snowed in at that point.
It’s a good thing I’m not very good at holding a shovel, because clearing the driveway was hard work!
By mid-day Dad had cleared just enough that we could get out for a walk.
So I took the opportunity to visit the neighborhood kids who were having a blast “attempting” to sled in the deep snow.
Stay tuned on Friday for the continuation of my snow day adventures, where I got to play with my ponies on the farm!
Does your dog enjoy playing in the snow?
I hear that this weekend a big snowstorm is headed my way. So far they are predicting 12 – 18 inches of the fluffy white stuff.
Don’t worry though, I’m totally prepared and have already readied my snow day outfit! Bring on Blizzard Jonas! After all, I’ve weathered my fair share of snow storms over the years….
…and so many more it’s hard to count!
So which dogs out there are excited to get some snow tomorrow?
Do you see this picture of me? While I’m super adorable and all (we all knew that), there is something missing, something really important on today of all days.
It’s a hat! Because today I’m told, is National Hat Day! And since I couldn’t just wear any old hat, mom helped me make a few fun paper hats so I could have a little dress up fun.
Pretty fun right? So go grab yourself a hat (or make one if you’re so inclined) and join me today for National Hat Day!
Which one of my hats is your favorite?
Well, it’s officially 2016! It’s like in the blink of an eye another year has come and gone, sometimes it’s much too fast for my liking!
So much has happened in 2015. From Sledding with my Ponies, dachshund life struggles, road trips, kitchen renovations, and even beach excursions….life was never too dull for me.
All of you were there to share in my adventures, and many of you even enjoyed checking out some of my most popular older posts:
It seems you all love to make fun things for your dogs and teach them tricks! (Who doesn’t?)
And to those of you that left me comments daily (shoutout to JB, Donna, Pam B, and Rebecca) either on my blog or my Facebook Page, THANK YOU! While I don’t always respond to every comment, know that I do read them! They bring a smile to my face everyday and it makes me happy that so many of your out there are enjoying my adventures!
While I never quite know what the year ahead holds for me, I do know that it certainly will never be dull around here.
With each passing year I do like to re-evaluate my blogging adventure. While I love sharing my life with each and every one of you, keeping up with my blog and social media accounts can be a full time job. The truth is, it’s a hobby that I enjoy, but I have to be realistic in how thin I spread myself between my full time job working at mom’s shop, taking care of my ponies, and making sure I have time for all my fun adventures with my friends and family.
So moving on to 2016, I’ve decided to make a few changes to perhaps lighten my work load just a bit. The first change is that sadly I will be closing up my Flying Hero Etsy Shop as soon as I sell out of all items. While I’ve loved sharing fun dachshund artwork, greeting cards, and handmade items with all of you, it’s just become difficult for my manager (aka mom) to handle keeping up with all of it. (did you know we actually have 3 etsy shops – Studio 3, Painting Pony + Flying Hero, plus a Brick & Mortar store)
So the good news for you is that lots of items are now on SALE! Quantities are limited though, and once they are gone…they will be GONE!
The next change for 2016 will be my blogging schedule. I’ve decided to try a slightly different posting schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with occasionally some additional posts during the week as my time warrants.
While I know some of you may be sad to not read my adventures during the week quite as often, my hope is that this will allow me to have even bigger adventure posts to share with you each week!
Taking pictures, editing them, and having time for actual adventures is a big job in itself. So by posting 3 times a week I’ll have a little more time to create even better content for all of you to read!
So if you’re a bit sad you might not be hearing from me quite as often, don’t worry, I’ll still be sharing snapshots of my life daily on Instagram and Facebook.
So buckle up, and join me for the ride that is 2016! I can hardly wait!
What changes will you be making in 2016?
Today’s the day! The day we get to eat our fill of the best foods ever.
Mostly turkey, because you all know a dog’s life revolves around meat! Well, ok it’s mainly a day to give thanks for all the blessings we have. Like my family, squeaky toys, ponies, and best friends!
But seriously, when does the turkey get served?
Don’t worry, even if I don’t get my fill of Turkey this year, I’ve still got my awesome Barkbox to keep me happy.
You can snag your pup a Barkbox subscription this month and also get a FREE 3 LEAVES ON A ROPE TOY exclusively from the Barkshop with code AMMO (a $16 value).*

Happy Thanksgiving Friends! What will you be doing to celebrate today?
P.S. I’ll be taking the rest of the week off to enjoy the rest of my vacation with my family in South Carolina! See you when I get back next week!

When it comes to treat dispensing toys, I have to say, I’ve pretty much tried them all! Toys you have to roll around, toys you have to chew, and toys that are just too frustrating that you can’t get one single treat out of.
I have some that I loathe and some that I love, and now thanks to my friends at Chewy.com I can add another one to the love pile!
This here is the Busy Buddy Twist n’ Treat from PetSafe. You add treats to the inside (any size treats will do and you can even use spreadable treats)…
..then simply twist them together creating space for your dog to get the treats out. Twist the sides close together for a more challenging game, and keep it wider apart for an easier game.
I like mine in the middle, not too hard, but not too easy.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some treat dispensing to work on!
You can fetch your dog a Busy Buddy Twist n’ Treat from Chewy.com on sale starting at $5.
Does your dog love treat dispensing toys? Do you have any favorites you think I may not have tried? Do tell!
