Toy Box

This is what my sad, sad toy box has been looking like lately…

ammo's toy box

See that one lonely toy? Yeah, I’ve had that toy since I was a puppy – it’s in there for a reason – it tastes like plastic, and I don’t like it! And sadly, that was the ONLY toy I had left, well, until mom took me to the toy shop (aka Petsmart) on Saturday!

I picked out 3 toys, well I picked out way more than that, but mom only let me bring home the ones she thought I MIGHT not be able to destroy.

1. Owsley the Owl by Martha Stewart Pets from Petsmart 2. Rope Bone by Martha Stewart Pets from Pestmart 3. JW Pet Company Hol-ee Cuz toy from Petsmart

Of course I went straight to work trying to destroy my new toys.

My “cuz” toy lost his little legs about an hour later. It had to be done. After all, I didn’t want him walking off in the night now did I?

Owsley the Owl safely made it through the night, but by Monday evening I ate both his ears off. He gave me the “dirty owl eye” so I let him have it. And my Rope Bone….still in the packaging, because mom won’t let me have him yet! Whats the fun in getting new toys if your mom won’t let you destroy them anyway. jeesh.

So, what about you? Know of any TOTALLY indestructible dog toys? I bet I could still kill it. Anyone bury their toys instead of destroying them? I’ve tried that too, but it’s just not as fun as the kill.

Meet and Greet

One of the great things about going to horse events with the ponies is that “horse people” are inevitably “dog people” too….which means that I get to make lots of new friends!

ammo and nemo the dachshund

Like Nemo the Dachshund! I instantly felt a connection to Nemo (hence why I’m giving him a kiss on the forehead) – we do share an uncanny resemblance don’t you think?

nemo the dachshund

Well, except for the fact that Nemo decided to wear his winter coat to the event. I told him it was way too hot in August for fur, but I guess he thought otherwise.

I also got to meet Biggie, who’s name is just about as “tough” as mine. But mighty dogs DO come in small packages – and this guy is no exception! (He MAY have scared the bejeezes out me in the bathroom when I saw him walking on his hind legs, I can’t be certain, but he may be part meerkat. hehe.)

Raining Cats and Dogs

On Tuesday Mom said it was raining cats and dogs outside. Seeing as how I’ve only ever seen regular rain, I was super excited to check out all my new cat and dog friends when I got home from work. So I burst through the doggie door in search of said “cats and dogs”.

I bounded all over the yard looking for my new friends.

So you can imagine my disappointment when all I found was regular old rain.

“Momma, where are all the cats and dogs?”

Sigh. Well, the good news is that since the cats and dogs didn’t show up ….. I don’t have to share any of my toys!

The Towel Game

Did you ever have a friend that always wants to make you play “their” game?

trooper and ammo

Yeah, that friend would be Trooper. He ALWAYS wants me to play the towel game.

He follows me around with that towel all day long.

Well sometimes I just don’t want to play the towel game. Sometimes….I just want to play CHASE!

Poor Cricket, she has no idea what she’s in for!

Awwwww

Today I’m in the mood for a little cuteness. And what’s cuter than videos of me as a puppy? Yeah, that’s what I thought….absolutely nothing!

And if you thought that was cute – check out this:

It’s almost too much cuteness to handle in one day.

Say What?

Ammo the dachshund

Rumor has it that mom’s recapping all of Minnow’s adventures on Chincoteague Island last week on his blog. Which also means she’s hogging all my computer time….jeesh!

ammo the dachshund

So while I patiently (or not so patiently depending on how you look at it) wait my turn on the computer – you can head on over to Minnow’s blog to check out all the fun I missed when they went to Chincoteague. And don’t forget, there is one more day to enter my giveaway for a FREE Scratch Art Painting! It just might be your lucky day!

Chincoteague Fries

If you haven’t heard…..My mom is back! After spending the week on Chincoteague Island with my best pony pal, Minnow, she returned on Friday – bringing gifts for me of course!

In my case, my beach fries didn’t come from the Fireman’s Carnival – but instead, this cute little shop, Howl Naturale, down mainstreet. (UPDATE, this company is no longer in business unfortunately)

It would of been way sweeter had I been there in person – and able to sample their wares myself, but either way I was more than happy to dive into my bucket of fries in the comfort of my own home.

Mmmmmm, it tastes just like if I was at the beach too!

Super Dog and Super Fort

I’ve been hanging out in my Super Fort all week while my mom and Minnow are in Chincoteague. And yesterday I  finally got to talk to my mom on the phone, and she said Minnow has been working very hard performing at the Pony Centre all week. She even e-mailed me this picture of Minnow being all…..Super!

Apparently he’s been drinking a lot of this:

hero juice

And after I hung up with mom and headed back to my Super Fort, I realized something was missing.

My SUPER CAPE!

ammo the dachshund's super fort

Yeah, we all know who’s going to win go fish today!

P.S. Mom, if you are reading this – it was Minnow II and Ammo II that unrolled all the toilet paper in the bathroom….I swear I told them not to!

Super Fort!

Remember when I told you yesterday that my pal Minnow and my Mom left me all week to go have fun on Chincoteague Island without me? And remember how sad I was? Well, I decided to make the most of my time alone all week at home – and I did what anyone in my situation would do……I built a fort in the basement!

ammo the dachshund's super fort!

Welcome, to my Super Fort!

ammo the dachshund's super fort!

The Super Fort is quite awesome, and I even brought along a soda for later.

I was really having a good time in my Super Fort, but then I started to miss my Mom and Minnow again. That’s where Minnow II comes in.

ammo the dachshund's super fort!

Minnow II looks just like the real Minnow! And the best part is that he doesn’t even slobber on me when he gives me kisses!

Minnow II

The real Minnow – see, almost as good as the real thing!

Anyway, Minnow II said he’d play cards with me – on account of I was all lonely at home.

ammo the dachshund's super fort!

Oh, and to my left is Ammo II – I decided it’s always best to have Dachshund’s outnumber ponies when you are playing cards.

ammo the dachshund's super fort!

I might have lost the card game and thrown a little temper tantrum. But in my defense, I think Minnow II cheated.

Those crafty ponies and their go fish cheating ways!

Pool Boy

After a week of 100 plus degree weather in Pennsylvania I finally couldn’t take it anymore! It was time for a pool day!

ammo the dachshund pool boy

Thankfully my mom-mom & pop-pop have a pool in their backyard. And who was I to pass up an invitation to come swimming?

ammo the dachshund pool boy

I wasted no time in grabbing myself a raft – doesn’t it look like I can walk on water?

ammo the dachshund pool boy

Believe it or not, this was actually my first time in the pool – and I decided all by myself that rafting would be the perfect way to cool off on this hot day. I’m so smart – who wants to waste their time doing the doggie paddle anyway.

Now that I’m properly cooled, who wants to take me for ice cream?
