Slicker

That’s right, I’m really slick in my new rain slicker! Since I pretty much go through one coat a year (what can I say I’m a rough and tumble farm dog) mom decided to grab my 2012 winter coat a little early. One can never have too many outfits anyway.

And seeing as how it’s all brand – spanking new, I definitely had to give it a little test drive. So behold, the amazing slickness of me, Ammo, in my new Blueberry Raincoat from Noodle and Friends. (That Noodle is one lucky girl, I bet she has like a bazillion coats!)

Lucky for me my new raincoat arrived just in time for a little April Showers. Don’t worry, my new coat kept me nice and dry!

Oh and Noodle, thanks for the new squeaky toy! Too bad it’s already gone to the squeaky toy graveyard…..I just couldn’t resist!

Spring

I really like Spring. Mostly because it means the door to the Sunroom gets opened. Which means I get to bask in the glorious sun….

Trust me, once mr. sunshine gets going this place heats up like a sauna. It’s glorious!

The sunroom is so amazing, because not only do I have a place to get my tan on (complete with comfy couches), but should the need arise – I have my own person door to my outside kingdom.

As you can see I use my little door it it’s full advantage. It’s very convenient for bringing in sticks and apples from my apple tree should I decide I want a snack later.

What more can a dog ask for?

Attention Shoppers

Attention shoppers….will someone please tell me why none of these dog toys seem to have squeakers inside? I thought the squeaker was a staple in dog toys?

Where’s the stuffing I can rip out, or the bones I can gnaw on?

I’m starting to regret saying I’d come on this shopping trip.

Mom, Dad, if you are reading this….I do not appreciate random trips to the store, when all we come back with is a very large piece of wood. Seriously. I could have been napping somewhere or chasing Leprechauns on the farm with Trooper. I am not amused. Try harder next time.

America’s Cutest Cats

I admit, it took me WAY too long to post this video. Most of my facebook fans know that back in 2010 I made a little cameo appearance on Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Cats with my farm pal, Cricket. Just a short clip of a good old wrestling match between me and my gal which they noticed on Youtube and requested to use. Check it out:

You might remember that I was also on Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Dogs with my favorite pony, Minnow!

This makes me sorta like a Reality TV Star then right? It’s only a matter of time before I have my own show – you better get your autographs now, before I’m swamped with paparazzi!

Elevator Up Please

For me, an elevator ride usually means one thing……we’re visiting great-grandma!

Over the weekend me and Trooper took a trip to visit my great-grandma.

Trooper’s favorite part about our visits is greeting all the residents at the nursing home (and the nurses). Here we are waiting for someone to say hi to.

My favorite part is getting the “scraps” that are inevitably left EVERYWHERE!

It’s like they knew I was coming and set out a special treat just for me. Mmmmmm….cheese….

The Return of my Arch Nemesis

He’s back. My arch nemesis, THE VACUUM! I really don’t like him. I know I’m supposed to be a tough farm dog, but sometimes you just gotta wimp out.

And by wimp out I mean hide under a pile of blankies.

Dad doesn’t make it any less scary, because he insists on vacuuming the house with the SHOP VAC! And I am almost certain that the shop vac could definitely suck up a Dachshund or two.

I’ll just have to keep visiting my happy place. …..I’m chasing squirrels…… I’m down a badger hole….. what sucking? ……..I don’t hear any sucking.

Happiness is a Warm Blanket

Blankies are wonderful snuggling companions. They also make really good chew toys. And in my case, sometimes those two things can work against each other. And that is how I ended up in this predicament….

P.S. My pal Trooper likes blankies too. He taught me everything I know. Evident in the above photo.

Surprise!

Today is my mom’s 189th Birthday! Ok fine, 27 in people years, but it sounds way cooler to say 189. I wanted to get my Mom something extra special because she’s so nice to me.

But, Dad said he didn’t think she would really appreciate the gesture. So instead I got her this book.

ok fine, Dad got her the book. But if I didn’t know any better I’d say this book, about a SUPER HERO DACHSHUND, was written about me!

Ammo the Super Hero

You can buy your own copy of the book here.

Dad also got Mom one of these….

(Sadly not the cowboy, just the lasso.) It’s so me and Mom can play cowboys! I already signed Trooper up to be the bull we lasso. I think he’s in trouble, because mom has some super sweet lasso moves already. Just check out the video.

Happy Birthday Mom, love your favorite Dachshund side-kick, Ammo

Game Night

Do you know what this wagging tail means? It’s game night…..

Everyone wants me on their lap during game night.

Perhaps it might be because I shout the answers out. hehe.

Seussville Adventure

Dear Dr. Seuss,

Apparently I missed your Birthday. It was yesterday.

I would have been way more excited had you written about a super cute Dachshund in a hat. Who wants to read about a cat anyway? Sorry I didn’t get you a present. Maybe next year.

Love,

Your Pal Ammo

P.S. If you have any leftover green eggs and ham please send it my way.
