Sometimes I’m just in the mood for a riveting game of fetch.
But mostly, I just like to torment my next-door neighbor, Harley the Rottweiler.
Sorry Harley!

My new friends over at Lasso recently sent me one of their fun rope collars, the Jib Petit. (to which I immediately attached one of my Pod ID tags – because one should never go without identification!)
Inspired by the sea, Lasso makes wonderful nautical collars, leashes, and even harnesses for all sea-dogs (or even non-sea dogs that just want to look super cool).
With lots of rope styles, colors, and sizes there is something to fit every dog’s need.
Of course as soon as I received my Lasso Collar I did what any dog with a nautical rope collar does……I strapped on my life vest and headed for the lake!
Even the boat rental crew at the lake commented on how appropriately dressed I was in my nautical collar! It held up well to all my water-time adventures and the size was perfect since all of the Lasso ropes are handmade!
All of the Lasso products are made with brass fittings, which have great corrosive resistance, so I never have to worry about it looking less than stellar after my many summertime trips to the lake.
So if you are looking for some fun nautical rope accessories for your dog this summer (or even yourself since they sell a variety of human-friendly products too), I highly recommend you checkout Lasso!
You can save 10% off any small dog items at Lasso with code AMMO – coupon is valid until June 15th at 11:50PM.
And now for the best part…..

Thanks to my pals over at Barkbox, I stumbled across this new mobile app called Kibblr, which has been designed to help end canine obesity. Obesity is deadlier for dogs than smoking is for humans. And 1 in 2 dogs in the US are overweight. But the Kibblr mobile app and their explosive new book can save them!
The Kibbler mobile app is designed to take the guess work out of how much you should be feeding your own dog.
It can also help you track your dog’s weightloss and give you tips on how to keep your dog fit.
You can help make it so that the Kibblr App and book hits shelves soon by supporting their Indiegogo fund!

I’m no stranger to the lake, and one of my favorite warm-weather activities is to go Stand Up Paddleboarding (aka SUP) with my mom and dad. So over the weekend we hit up our favorite lake and boat rental – Marsh Creek Lake.
I enjoy the paddleboard more than any of the other rentals (kayak, motorized rowboat, sailboat) because the paddleboard puts me the closest to the water – and I do in fact enjoy swimming when the water is just the right temperature.
Most of the time I end up taking a dive into the water when mom and dad drift too far apart. I think I channel my inner herding dog (thanks to my pal Trooper) and I worry a bit when my “pack” gets too far apart. So I’ll dive into the water and swim to dad to make sure he’s still ok.
When we finally get further out on the lake it’s enjoyable just to lay around on the paddleboards and soak in the sun. After all summer is almost here – and I gotta work on my tan!
As much as attention as I tend to draw on the lake – you would think that it’s pretty rare to see dogs out on the water.
But in actuality I tend to see quite a few dogs when I head out, like this pup Kahula, who’s owner has an awesome go-pro setup on their board and posts amazing instagram photos of their paddleboarding adventures.
So if you’re looking for a fun summertime activity to enjoy with your dog I highly recommend paddleboarding. You can check with your local boat rental to see if they allow dogs on their rentals (as I’ve found most do) and even if the paddle board isn’t for you there are lots of other rentable water vessels! Just make sure your pup wear’s it’s life vest! Mine is from my friends at Kurgo.
As per my yearly tradition I always hit up the Devon Horse Show at least once while is running. Devon is one of the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed competitions in the United States today, and as a bonus it’s VERY dog friendly!
So last week on Memorial Day I decided to take a trip to Devon, where the who’s who of dogs (and horses) always are!
The shopping is always upscale and unique (if not always a little out of my budget), but as a dog it’s fun to actually take a tour around shops like Anthropologie!
I even happened across this fine dining set just for dogs from the Furnished Paw. I’m pretty sure I’d have to own a tux to dine like this.
While the shopping left me wishing my income was a bit higher, what I really came for was to watch the horses! (dressed in my finest of course)
While there are lots of exciting events to watch at Devon (and things even non-horse lovers can appreciate), mom and I always get a kick out of watching the exhibitions. This year we made sure to attend so that we could watch the carriage racing and shetland pony races.
So I staked out the best spot along the arena and watched these two exciting events.
The cart racing was fun to watch, and it left me dreaming of one day having a tiny pony just my size so I could ride around on a cart too! Wouldn’t that be fun!
The Shetland Pony Racing was my favorite though. And don’t worry, no kids were injured!
It was a pretty hot day when I attended Devon, so between events I napped near the arena (and sipped on plenty of cool water).
After we were done watching the races I strolled the grounds, where I met lots of other friendly dogs.
I even checked out some of the (highly decorated) stables.
And of course right before we headed home mom and I had to stop for a lemon stick. Because if you go to Devon, you have to have a lemon stick! (It’s a rule)

You might remember that I wrote a post last fall about the wonderful product that is the Sleepypod Yummy Bowl. Well I’m back to share it with you again….plus a giveaway you won’t want to miss!
Now see, me and my bestest pal Trooper are always on the go. And now that summer is just around the corner, and things are starting to heat up, we need to make sure we always have a cool drink of water with us no matter where we are. (not to mention a bowl full of kibble too!)
Enter the Sleepypod Yummy Bowl!
With two sizes (small and medium), these bowls are the perfect accessory for every road trip, weekend getaway, camping trip, vacation, and more!
I’ve been using my small Sea Breeze Yummy Bowl for quite some time now, and I can tell you that it’s the first thing I grab when I’m headed out the door for an adventure. Thanks to Sleepypod my pal Trooper now has a medium Yummy Bowl in Blueberry for all of his adventures as well.
Now the Yummy Bowls aren’t just for looks, they are also quite functional in that they can carry your pet’s food and water at the same time! The unique spill resistant bottom bowl makes sure water stays in the bowl and not on the floor.
These Yummy bowls also come in 4 delicious colors, Very Berry, Mango Tango, Key Lime, Blueberry (on the right), and the Sea Breeze (on the left).
In my previous post I had even tested out the Yummy Bowl’s ability to be frozen with water inside. This is great for keeping your water nice and cold on a hot summer day, or even on an extra long road trip.
So if you’re looking for the perfect travel bowl, I highly recommend the Sleepypod Yummy Bowl, you won’t be disappointed.
You can fetch your own Yummy Bowl in small for $29.99 or medium for $39.99.
And now for the best part…
ONE Lucky WINNER will WIN a Sleepypod Yummy Travel Bowl!

Don’t forget to enter our Ruffwear My Dog is My… Giveaway!
If you own a dachshund like me, then you probably know that my breed is prone to barking (and lots of it). But what if I told you there was a new product out that could train your dog not to bark while you are gone in a positive way!
The PetSafe AutoTrainer tracks your dogs barking habits with a collar, and when your dog isn’t barking it dispenses a treat to reward them for being quiet. It will continue to reward your dog for increasingly longer periods of time without barking.
Totally my kind of training toy….one that feeds you! You can even view your dog’s barking history while you were gone.
You can fetch the PetSafe AutoTrainer from Amazon for $200.
Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post by PetSafe, nor do I own (or have tried) this product – just simply wanted to share my latest find. Results may vary. Post does contain affiliate links.
I like to think I’m a pretty health conscious pup. I eat grain-free, exercise regularly, and I try to only snack on things that are good for me.
So imagine how thrilled I was when my monthly box of goodies from Barkbox popped up in mom’s garden! (I knew that magic horse poop was good for something!)
This month’s Barkbox celebrates healthy (but still delicious) eating, inspired by the finds from your favorite farmer’s markets.
Packed full of good-for-your-dog items this month’s box contained items that were organic, GMO-free and eco-friendly sourced toys.
Mom says she never has to worry about checking the ingredients when my Barkbox arrives because their edible products do not include rawhide (or anything processed with formaldehyde), have minimal processing with no glycerin whenever possible, no wheat, gluten, soy, or corn, and are filler-free as well as organic whenever possible.
Not to mention all treats are sourced from the USA and Canada, and chews are sourced from the USA, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand.
So with minimal watering, this month’s Barkbox popped up an eco-friendly carrot squeaky toy from P.L.A.Y., a Caitec ball toy that had a fun and innovative squeak (and has held up to my chompers thus far), Apple Cobbler organic and GMO-free cookies from Snicky Snacks, Plato Organic Chicken treats, and a Barkworthies 100% beef bully stick.
Who knew eating healthy could be so yummy!
Of course I went straight for the bully stick!
You can fetch your pet a Barkbox subscription and save 10% off with code AMMO5 and don’t forget Barkbox gives 10% of their revenue to local rescues and shelters across the United States and Canada.

It’s always hard to get back to the grind after a long holiday weekend. When I get a few extra days off work I tend to try and pack in as much stuff as I can…..sometimes too much! Check out the fun adventures I had over the long weekend…
I kicked things off on Friday by celebrating my Dad’s Birthday! Of course I always volunteer by helping to open presents.
Then on Saturday I headed to the farm to celebrate my best friend Trooper’s 7th Birthday! Horray! I got to spend all evening with Trooper (and open his presents too) while my mom and dad headed to the wedding for my Aunt & Uncle!
Sunday I was up bright and early to spend some time with my ponies!
Then I hit the trail with my pal Shilah while my dad and Shilah’s dad played Disc Golf.
Shilah and I burned lots of calories hiking the course on this hot day!
And I may have snuck in a nap or two along the way.
Then on Memorial Day I was on the move again as I took a trip to the Devon Horse Show.
I had fun making new friends, and watching all the ponies compete! I’ll be back later to share some more details about my fun trip to Devon.
Later that day I made it back to the farm to enjoy a Barbecue with all my favorite people.
Trooper and Cricket included!
As you can imagine by the end of my long weekend I looked like this, and could barely move a muscle!
But, you know what they say, a tired dog is a happy dog! What did you do over the long weekend?
