It’s that time of year when one of my favorite pet companies, Ruffwear, comes out with their new Spring gear!
I was super excited this time around to be able to test out their new Slackline Leash.
At first glance it may look just like an ordinary dog leash, but I can tell you it is not.
The Ruffwear Slackline Leash is an adjustable-length leash from 6 feet to 3.5 feet. Its adjustable length can be fully extended for relaxed walks, or shortened for more control as needed.
Essentially this leash replaces those highly dangerous retractable leashes – which I don’t really recommend.
Mom and Dad love the padded handle which also includes a convenient accessory loop for pick up bags or small clip-on items.
The Slackline leash can also be handheld or waist-worn with the handy buckle, which also makes it easy if you ever need to tie your dog while out on a walk.
It’s also got reflective trim for safety, and comes in 4 fun colors: Twilight Grey (pictured), Meadow Green, Purple Dusk and Kokanee Red.
And incase you are wondering, there is still plenty of length to this leash when extended to allow me to explore all the fascinating places I find on my walks! And can still quickly shorten when I need to stay closer to mom and dad.
The Slackline Leash has been great for my walks to work in the morning, where sometimes I need to stay closer to mom incase of oncoming traffic. But don’t worry, I also always practice looking both ways before I cross the street (as seen in the video above).
You can fetch the new Ruffwear Slackline Leash for your dog for $39.95 (with FREE SHIPPING for orders over $75)!
And now for the best part….

Being a farm dog means your guard dog duties never end.
Even as darkness begins to fall Trooper always takes his watch dog post with pride.
Although the job is always a little more bearable with friends, so I’m always ready to join him for the Night’s Watch.
Well, it’s a good thing Trooper and I are already neutered!
P.S. Thanks to our pals at Glowdoggie for keeping us Night Watchdogs safe in the dark. Mention code AMMO at checkout for a $5 refund on your next order (US only)

So it’s totally that time of year when Trooper and I enjoy rolling in mud and generally getting pretty dirty on the farm (and one of us really loves to go down dirty groundhog holes). So it comes at no surprise that we find ourselves in the bath A LOT.
Thanks to my new friends at MIU Pet Trooper and I now have a new tool to make bath time a bit quicker (so we can get back to all that running around on the farm!)
The MIU Pet Multi-Functional Handheld Pet Shower is a tool designed to make bathing simple again with single hand operation.
It comes with a shower head, stainless steel hose, and 4 hose adapters to fit most faucets.
The shower head has an easy to reach button on the side to control the flow of water, plastic prongs that provide gentle massage and makes your pet bathing enjoyable, and under that blue cap on the bottom is an opening that allows you to add soap to the shower head that can be released with the touch of another button.
While this pet shower is designed for indoor and outdoor use, the attachments that come with it are designed to hook to a bathroom shower head or indoor faucet, similar to the one pictured below:
Since I didn’t have the right shower or faucet at my house I decided to test out the shower in the barn wash stall. Mom had to get a little creative with the how to attach the MIU Pet hose to the barn hose – but after picking up a few hose attachments at the hardware store we were ready for a bath.
Well, technically Trooper was ready for a bath! (it’s still a bit too cold for me and my short hair to have a bath outside this time of year).
So after adding some soap to the shower head, we were ready to get Trooper all squeaky clean!
Trooper has the ideal hair type for this type of shower head, because the massaging prongs came in real handy with getting soap and water deep into his thick coat of hair.
The one-handed design of this pet shower came in real handy. With one hand free to keep Trooper from running off, the other hand could easily bathe the dog without having to put down the hose in search of soap or a brush….because it’s all right there!
All squeaky clean after his bath!
While the MIU Pet Shower can do many things, there is one thing it can’t do….keep Trooper from rubbing off his clean dog smell on the barn walls!
While Trooper loved that his bath time was cut in half, I loved that he was the one that had to test it instead of me! 😉 I’ll reserve my baths for the 80 degree weather, thank you very much.
Trooper wasn’t the only one that got to test the MIU Pet Shower though, even the horses found a use for it!
You can fetch the MIU Pet Shower from Amazon, and be sure to check out more of their pet products on the MIU Pet Website.
Bonus! You can save 20% your next order with code MPTOAMMO

And now it’s time for my March adventures…
I kicked off March by sharing some of my new Wonders treats with all my friends.
I shared a video of some of the things that I like to bark at.
I shared another installment of the places that I like to sleep.
I picked up a new skill at work to help us work smarter.
I took my new Iota GPS tracker for a spin.
I shared the 5 signs that tells me Spring is coming.
I shared how my mom gets me to eat my vegetables.
I put my new coat from Pepper Petwear to the farm dog test (and it survived).
I went on my first Spring Adventures.
I tried to take the Easter Bunny’s job & gave away a basket full of goodies from Martha Stewart Pets (and you can still ENTER TO WIN!)
I tried to pick a new frame for my painting from Paint Your Life (and you can still ENTER MY GIVEAWAY to win one).
I shared my Easter Basket with my best friend and recapped all my Easter Sunday adventures.
And that brings us to April! Top of my list is to get my vegetable garden started….I can’t wait for all those fresh veggies! What sort of adventures did you go on in March?
When Easter rolled around I could hardly wait to see what was in my basket this year.
My best pal Trooper came over to help me open it (and the Easter bunny had brought him a few treats too).
But, Trooper still doesn’t quite get the concept of opening presents, so he let me do all the work.
After all the unwrapping was done Trooper and I picked out our favorite toys from the bunch.
My favorite is this Thinker Maze* from the the Barkshop (that bunny certainly knows the best places to shop!).

Before long it was time for all my family to arrive at my house for Easter dinner, which included my newest little cousin whom I’m absolutely in love with! He’s already loving my wet doggy kisses!
Next up was the easter egg hunt! And while I had fun watching all my older cousins hunt for their eggs, I have to admit I was a little jealous.
They got so many goodies in those eggs too…including monies!
But guess what! My cousins decided to hide some dog friendly easter eggs around the yard specifically for me and Trooper to find!
Although poor Trooper didn’t quite grasp the concept, and the poor guy wandered around with a confused look on his face most of the time.
That’s ok though, because I had no problem collecting Trooper’s share of the eggs too!
After our egg hunt Trooper and I were pretty wiped out.
But don’t worry, there’s always one thing that never fails in perking me right up…..HAM!
Although sadly I didn’t actually get any holiday ham…despite my best sad face at dinnertime.
All in all I had a fantastic Easter with my family. Too bad we can’t celebrate every day!
How did you spend your holiday?
Disclaimer: This post and giveaway is brought to you by Paint Your Life. All opinions are my own, and I only share products I think you and your pets will love.
As many of you may recall I spend most of my week working at mom’s custom picture frame shop. So over the years I’ve developed a love of the arts. So when my new friends over at Paint Your Life offered to do an oil painting of yours truly I said “why of course the world could use more paintings of me!”
Over at Paint Your Life they have a whole variety of different art mediums you can choose, and not only can you commission a painting of your pet, but they can even paint people too.
For me the hardest part was then choosing what photo I wanted them to paint my portrait from. Goodness knows my mom has thousands of pictures of me from over the years.
So the really neat part is you can actually send Paint Your Life several photos and they can recommend which one would make the best paintings (but ultimately the decision will be up to you).
I combed through years worth of pictures and picked out a few that I thought would be fun to hang on my bedroom wall.
After sending them off to Paint Your Life they recommended I get my portrait painted from the one of me sleeping on my dog bed. Which is great, because that was actually my top pick too!
A couple weeks later they sent me an online proof to approve, which I could either accept or even request additional changes to be made. As I suspected though, it came out fantastic from the start so I had them ship it to my door right away!
While I certainly knew I’d love my painting, it’s great to know that Paint Your Life offers a 100% Money Back Guarantee. So if you aren’t happy they will redo it or refund your money in full.
Shipping is also always free, and you never have to pay for your painting in full up front. (just 20% down).
Regardless you always have plenty of time to request changes and review your painting before it even ships to your door, and the whole process is extra simple through their website!
The likeness is uncanny don’t you think? (It’s even more beautiful in person!)
When you order your painting from Paint Your Life you can even choose to have it framed or stretched onto stretcher bars, however since I do work in a picture frame shop I decided I could do that part for myself (well at least make mom do it for me). So once my painting arrived I set out to pick out a frame!
I narrowed my frame picks down to two…but I can’t decide! So you’ll just have to help me choose by leaving a comment below on which one you think I should put on my painting – the grey frame or the teal with grey liner?
You can grab your very own pet portrait (or any portrait for that matter) from Paint Your Life, and as a bonus save 40% off your next order with code AMMO40
You can even ENTER TO WIN A CUSTOM PAINTING FROM PAINT YOUR LIFE! (a $299 Value)
To enter simply use the widget below. This contest is open to Worldwide readers too!

When suddenly mom put this pink bunny suit on me I knew something was up (although to be fair, mom does like to dress me up on a regular basis).
But this time, this time was different, because it’s almost EASTER! And since I already had my very own bunny suit from Martha Stewart Pets®, I figured I might as well put it to good use. What better way to use a pink bunny suit than to BE the Easter Bunny…I mean how hard can it really be?
So I hopped on over to Petsmart® and filled a basket full of Easter goodies from the Martha Stewart Pets Spring Line.
Then I did what any other dog dressed as a bunny would do….I scarfed some carrots (you know, for fuel and all)……
….and dove head first into my Easter basket filled of goodies!
Just as I was getting into the swing of things with my new toys, mom reminded me that the real Easter Bunny wouldn’t keep all the toys for himself. Instead he would share them with all the other good little dogs out there.
Gulp. She was right. What had I become?
So my Easter gift to you….

Over the weekend Spring arrived. Although it didn’t really feel like it (hence my bundled up self on the farm in the picture above). While my first Spring adventures didn’t involve weekend hiking trips, camping, or travels, I still got to spend time with my family – which is really all the adventure I need!
From good morning kisses with my best friend Trooper on the farm…
(even when he maybe found them a bit embarrassing in front of the ponies!)
….to waiting for mom to finish painting my basement playroom….
…and even napping on the couch after farm chores…
…the best part of every adventure is getting to share it with the ones I love!
I’m looking forward to many more “adventures” this year. How about you?
As dogs, we’re designed to be meat eaters, but did you know that adding vegetables to your dog’s diet can help them in many ways?
My mom’s favorite pet nutritionist, Rodney Habib, has lots of great information on why it’s important to add fresh vegetables to your dog’s daily diet. With the simple addition of veggies to your pet’s food, you could help prevent cancer! Now that’s pretty cool.
Lucky for me, I’m actually a vegetable lover, but many dogs out there hate them.
Not to worry, today I’m going to share with you one of my mom’s favorite recipes for getting picky dogs (like my pal Trooper) to eat their vegetables.
*this is not a sponsored post, but does contain some affiliate links
Here’s what you’ll need:
Add a small amount of The Honest Kitchen to a bowl and add water as per the specifications on the package. The sample packs are great for making about 3 – 4 stuffed toys.
Add some fresh vegetables to the bowl, broccoli is great diced up into smaller pieces.
Then stuff a few mini carrots into your toys. These are great at making it harder for your dog to get the treats out quickly.
Fill the rest of the toy with your vegetable mixture until nearly full.
Finish off with a dab of peanut butter to really get your dog interested.
You can then either feed these veggie treats immediately to your dog, or even stick them in the freezer to give to them later (no need to thaw first).
Every night when my parent’s eat dinner I get my own special vegetable treat inside my crate. My parents are happy knowing I’m getting a healthy dose of veggies, and I’m happy because it tastes oh-so-good!
Not sure what vegetables to feed your dog? Check out this handy list for some ideas.
