Birthday Week: DIY Birthday Bones

One of the special treats my mom made me for my Birthday was a batch of “Birthday Bones”. And since you are all my party guests – I think ~~you~~ your pups deserve a little treat too! So break out the blender and mixing bowls here’s a simple recipe even I could make!

Birthday Bones

Ingredients:
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup unsalted natural peanut butter
1 cup skim milk

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

2. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Then mix in peanut butter and milk. Mix well.

3. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll out so that is is 1/4″ thick and cut out shapes using a cookie cutter.

4. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool, then store in an airtight container.

5. While you wait for cookies to cool, make sure you let your “helper” lick the peanut butter spoon.

Tada! Now you have delicious cookies for your favorite pup!

Birthday Week: Ammo turns 3!

ammo the dachshund's birthday week Welcome to Birthday Week! On October 5th I turn 3 years old, and since I think Birthdays are super amazing (especially mine), we’re going to celebrate ALL-WEEK-LONG!

I’m really just hoping that means I get presents and treats all week long too, but regardless I think it will be a really fun bash! I’ve even got some fun prizes for my “guests” (that’s you btw) and some super cool DIY stuff to share! So make sure you check in everyday (and sometimes twice a day), because this is gonna totally be a blast in a ~~glass~~ bowl.

Friday Fetch: Bambi & Friends

bambi and friends Halloween is just around the corner and it seems as if everyone already has their costumes picked out! I’m embarrassed to say that I still don’t know what I want to be yet.

Dogs like Bambi from Hope Images seem to effortlessly pull off the perfect costume. I’m a wee bit jealous, although to be fair, I really don’t want to dress up like a hot dog – the most obvious solution.

Doe-eyed Bambi here kinda makes me want to run into the forest and bring home a few fawns to call my own. Isn’t she just precious?

Ok, I admit it, Minnow is pretty talented. But, he has been painting for much longer than I have (since 2007 to be exact).

Friday Fetch: Pet Calendars

I’m probably pretty accurate when I say most people (and dogs with a busy schedule like me) check a calendar every day of their lives. How else are you going to remember ~~vet appointments~~ play dates, personal appearances, and trips to the pet store?

Wild Ride

Holy Cannoli! Boy did I have a busy weekend!

This picture of me and Trooper pretty much sums up the adventurous weekend I had. Don’t worry, I didn’t actually have to ride a bull, but I did have to entertain lots of children (and adults), sniff a whole bunch of dog butts, eat funnel cake, and I even ran through an agility course…twice!

Dog Days of Summer

Hey Pals! Today and tomorrow I’m hanging out at the Chadd’s Ford Historical Society Dog Days of Summer II event! From 10am – 5pm I’ll be mixing and mingling with all my friends (and doing a few tricks too with my pal Minnow the Painting Pony).
