When the winter rolls around I sometimes (like most of you) spend a little more time indoors. Because honestly, I’d much rather be warm and toasty then freezing my tail off! But when it snows, that all changes, because one of my favorite activities involves a fresh dusting of snow and some of my furry four-legged friends.
It’s time to go sledding with my ponies!
All I need is a warm winter coat, an inner tube, and a willing pony! Good thing Boomerang and Blitz were more than happy to let me hitch a ride.
I hear even more snow is headed my way this Saturday……AND I CAN’T WAIT!
What sort of things do you do for fun in the snow with your dog?
Since I’m the nicest guy around I decided to share them with my own Good Buddy, Trooper!
These made in the USA treats are packed with healthy ingredients, so I knew I was sharing something my best friend would love. (he’s a stickler for eating healthy)
As you can see, Trooper was ecstatic when I told him he would get to help me eat these yummy Good Buddy treats.
Trooper and I scarfed our cookies so fast that we didn’t realize until after that our other pal Blitz the pony was feeling a bit left out on the cookie front.
Since these Good Buddy treats are made from Whole Wheat Flour, Rolled Oats, Canola Oil, Peanut Butter, Whey Powder, Garlic Powder, Eggs, and Dried Kelp – mom said it would be fine if we wanted to share with Blitz the pony too.
And I won’t lie, I’m a bit relieved, because the bag is starting to weigh a bit less!
And I’m starting to get concerned that my buddies might need to go on a diet! Or at least find someone else’s cookies to share, because the rest are mine, all mine!
Now that mom is no longer confined to crutches, my weekends are starting to include lots of fun activities again. Here’s a little look into what I was up to this weekend…
Sunbathing at the shop with my gal pal Liebe!
Playing dress-up with some of the new jewelry at the shop.
Inspecting Trooper’s new house.
And hanging out with some of my favorite friends on the farm!
Sometimes when we are out on the farm my buddy Trooper tends to be a little bit of a lost soul. He mopes around with that towel in his mouth, unsure about what to do next.
But Trooper is a herding dog, so I know when he has his towel he just really needs to be put to work. So lucky for him I’m an expert at putting my buddy to work.
All I have to do is point Trooper towards the ponies and he’s stuck to them like glue.
Well, at least until he gets tired – so that’s why I have to keep my eyes on him at all times and make sure he keeps working.
Now that my Trooper babysitting duties are fulfilled I can get back to what I really love to do on the farm!
This is totally going to be the name of my children’s book someday, “Farmyard Fun with a Dog in the Fog”. It sounds like something straight out of a Dr. Suess book.
And truth be told, I always have a lot of farmyard fun in the fog!
The damp blanket of foggy goodness seems to bring out all of my friends to play.
I’m always the first to grab a stick and entice my friends to join in the fun.
Catch me if you can ponies!
Before I could turn around to see who was joining me in this fun game of chase I was in the middle of nowhere, and the fog had covered me in it’s blanket!
I thought I might be lost.
Cricket got worried when she could no longer see my yellow coat in the pasture.
And Blitz began nickering for me so I could find my way back to my friends.
The day has finally come! It’s time to announce the official release of the brand-new Super Pony DVD, staring the talented Minnow from Painting Pony…..and ME!
Thanks to my talented Uncle Taylor and Depthink Productions, we began filming for the DVD this past summer, and I’m so excited that it’s finally ready to share with everyone!
Check out the DVD Trailer:
ON THIS DVD
Trainer, Kyley DiLuigi, introduces us to Super Pony, the alter ego of the talented Chincoteague Pony, Minnow! Watch as he shows us some of his favorite trick performances, many of which have been performed at expos, fairs, schools, and even the Annual Chincoteague Pony Penning. Several performances also include Minnow’s lovable sidekick, Ammo the Dachshund, as well as other members of the Painting Pony crew. In addition to 5 featured videos, this DVD also contains 2 bonus videos: a visit to Iron Horse Farm, home to the Painting Ponies; and a talk given by Kyley about everyone’s favorite Chincoteague Pony, Misty of Chincoteague.
PAINTING PONY
In 2007, Painting Pony was founded when Kyley DiLuigi decided to bring her paints from art school out to the farm where she kept her 14-year-old pony, Minnow. That cold winter day Minnow became the World’s First Painting Chincoteague Pony as he created his very first masterpiece. As it became evident that Minnow had a gift that he truly loved, the paintings he created began to pile higher and higher. Feeling the need to share Minnow’s art with the world, Kyley started PaintingPony.com and the rest is history!
You’ll get to see performances by me and Minnow as well as me and my buddy Trooper. You even get to see me paint!

I may not have been frolicking around in the pasture with the ponies in real life, but I certainly was in spirit (although you can catch a glimpse of me in the video below).
Blitz, Boomerang and Minnow really know how to have a good time!
Nothing like a good romp in the mud on a rainy day!
My recent camping trip wasn’t all rainbows and sunshine as you might have guessed. See, I had a very important job to do on the camping trip. I was in charge of training Blitz (or young Blitzen as I like to call him) how to tie properly.
He looks pretty good right? You would have never guessed he started out like this:
Naughty ponies don’t get sugar cubes later on! Don’t worry though, I had a little talk with him. He has so much to learn about the World.
And we were just in the midst of really making some progress on Blitz’s training when the nasty thunderstorms came and cancelled the second day of competition for my pony friends.
I might have had to hide under a towel in the tent on Saturday night – but I swear I wasn’t scared…..It was just cozy in there, honest!
But even though the rain put a damper on my fun, the ponies still won me a second place ribbon – they’re pretty sweet like that.
Mother nature wasn’t done having her little fun with me though, because on the way home (5 minutes from the farm to boot) we got stuck at a fallen tree. Luckily the nice electric company came to save me, although I did tell them that my teeth are razor sharp and I could have easily hacked that log to bits in no time!
But even without my rainbows and sunshine I still had a pretty awesome adventure!
Sometimes I get jealous of my pony friends. I mean, there is a reason they call me their sidekick, I usually take the backstage to their amazing painting talents, and their ability to perform MANY tricks. Sometimes I watch them longingly wishing I could be just like them when I grow up.
But then, on days like this, I catch them trying to be like me – and it makes me feel better! Sorry ponies, no one wears a stunt helmet and cape like I do!
Minnow trying on my stunt helmet
Blitz trying to figure out how to wear my cape
"You've got it on wrong"
"Here let me help you"
Laughing at the ponies
Boomerang joins in
Boomerang even shares the helmet with Nitro, my mom's retired horse
At the end of the day, no one wears a stunt helmet like I do!
