Adventure Awaits on the Road Ahead

As you read this I’m off on a week long road trip with my family as I head to Nashville Tennessee for this year’s BlogPaws Conference!

I’m excited to hit up some interesting places along the way like the Shenandoah National Park, the Great Smoky Mountains and so much more! While I won’t be blogging the rest of this week, you can still check in with me on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter as I’ll be sharing lots of the fun as we go!

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair

Yippee! It’s almost Christmas! And to get in the holiday spirit, I thought I’d share my fun an easy DIY for some holiday dog collar flair!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Festive Holiday Fabric (smaller patterns and words work best)
Fabric Button Kit
Elastic
Scissors

Following the directions that came with your fabric covered button kit, use your holiday fabric to create a button. For mine I used a 1″ kit.

Choosing a smaller pattern works best and may depend on the size of your button.

Then simply tie a small piece of elastic to the back of the button loop that will securely hold your button to the collar (thin elastic works best).

Then slip it onto your dog’s favorite collar, and you’ve got yourself some holiday flair!

Simple, fun, and oh-so-festive!

They were so easy to make that now I can’t decide which ones to wear….perhaps I should just wear them all!

Everyone loves a good button!

Recently I helped mom come up with a button design for my etsy shop, because everyone loves a good button! You can put them everywhere – on your book bag, on your shirt, on your friends shirt, on anything you want!

Blindingly bright yellow and featuring my logo and favorite saying, “Adventure Awaits”, these buttons are now available in my etsy shop! And for the time being I’ll also be sending them out in every purchase from my shop too! It’s my little gift to you!

So buy a calendar, buy a card – I’ll send along a happy button to make you smile!

Outfitting a Super Hero with CafePress

You might remember a few weeks ago when the fine folks over at CafePress offered up a giveaway to one of my lucky readers. Well they also offered me a chance to take some of their custom products for a spin too – so I’m back to share with you just what I ordered.

So I browsed through their custom items and decided to try out their small round pet id tag and some 2.25″ buttons.

With the help of my personal designers (mom and dad) I used the Cafepress design tool and uploaded my logo for the pet tag and buttons. You can opt to upload an image or enter you own text and shapes with their design tools. I decided not to make my tag an “identification tag”, but instead just a little something something to add bling to my super hero outfit when I perform.

After uploading my designs for each item I checked them to make sure they would look right and not be cut off at all on the products.

Then a few short days later my custom items arrived in the mail! Yippee!

The pet tag came with a tiny clasp on it, but my hefty collar from Mattie & Margot was a bit too large for it to fit on. This was easily remedied with a Rubit clip (which I use on all my id tags anyway) that I had laying around the house.

So I pinned on my new button (which probably mom and dad will end up wearing most of the time – but I wanted to be the first to try it)….

….and snapped on my new tag to add that special bling bling to my Super Hero outfit.

You also may notice that I am wearing my gold letter A, which was the clear winner when I asked all of you which embroidered patch I should add to my costume! I agree, the gold is just the right color – thanks to everyone who weighed in with their vote.

I’m now ready for my big performance this month at the Spring Doxie Fest! I hope you’ll come meet me and see how stellar I look with all my new custom designed CafePress items!
