Ok, so I know Halloween is over and it’s now November, but I just had to share one final “October” adventure that I just know you’ll love.

See just before Halloween my mom and dad found this new orchard near my house that is super dog friendly! Because surprisingly most orchards in my area don’t allow pets, which is very odd to me.

*side note – I always call ahead when planning an adventure to find out if I’m allowed to accompany my family. You’d be surprised how pet friendly some places can be if you just ask first!

So I was thrilled to find out that I was allowed to accompany my family into the fields to pick out our pumpkins this year.

Next year I’m totally going to pick apples with my sister too! I’m just waiting for her to get a little taller so I can get a boost up in that tree!

Picking out pumpkins for everyone in the family wasn’t enough, because when it’s Halloween you have to carve them!

But since my sister is too little, and I have paws, that left mom and dad to do the dirty work. Don’t worry, I barked directions at them the whole time.

A short while later we had 4 pumpkins ready and waiting to be lit for Halloween night!

Granted they may not have been quite as elaborate as years past, but when you’re trying to squeeze in some pumpkin carving while your sister naps it’s about as good as it gets.

Over the weekend mom and dad took me to pick out my Halloweenie pumpkins.

And oh boy where there pumpkins galore to choose from!

But not to worry, this nose is very experienced at picking out the very best carving pumpkins!

Just look at these beauties I sniffed out! I can’t wait to get to carving them, all I have to do is decide what to carve. Any suggestions?

And if you didn’t know, I’m also pretty awesome at carving pumpkins too, just like these sweet pumpkins from a few years back.

Birthday Week: DIY Pet Birthday Bandana

Birthdays call for celebration, and what better way to celebrate than a spiffy new bandana to let everyone know it’s your Birthday!

And because I want everyone to celebrate with me, here’s a tutorial I created to help you make your own pet a celebratory bandana.

DIY Pet Birthday Bandana

Materials:

Fabric
Ruler
Cutting Utensil
Screenprinting Ink (or acrylic paint mixed with Textile Medium)
Sponge Brush
Paint Tray
Rubber Stamp (we hand carved ours, or you can find out how to purchase one here)

Step 1: Using a ruler and cutting utensil, cut a bandana sized piece of fabric out of your material. We used a bandana I already had as a template, but you can also measure your pet’s neck and add about 4″ to be able to tie it. You might also opt to sew the edges of your bandana to prevent fraying before moving on to step 2.

Step 2: You will need your HOORAY! stamp for this part (my mom carved mine, find out how to carve a stamp here or find out how to purchase one here). Use your sponge brush to apply screen printing ink or acrylic paint mixed with Textile Medium to the stamp.
