Little Red

I may not have been wearing “red” but that didn’t stop the Big Bad Wolf from finding me.

Off in the distance I spotted him.

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but luckily for me I’m a Fearless Dachshund.

“My what big teeth you have” – me

“The better to eat you with” – wolf

“Why that’s no way to greet a stranger, how about a good old-fashioned butt sniff instead” – me

And we all lived Happily Ever After.

The End

Wet Paint

Wet Paint.

I should have known. When your day starts like this….

….. you will end up like this……

sigh.

My pal Minnow had a much more successful painting day than I did.

While he created 3 masterpieces (check them out here) I somehow ended up with blue paint in my mouth. Don’t ask.

At least I’m not the only one that requires a bath after painting day….

America’s Cutest Cats

I admit, it took me WAY too long to post this video. Most of my facebook fans know that back in 2010 I made a little cameo appearance on Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Cats with my farm pal, Cricket. Just a short clip of a good old wrestling match between me and my gal which they noticed on Youtube and requested to use. Check it out:

You might remember that I was also on Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Dogs with my favorite pony, Minnow!

This makes me sorta like a Reality TV Star then right? It’s only a matter of time before I have my own show – you better get your autographs now, before I’m swamped with paparazzi!

Life on the Farm

Simple snapshots of life on the farm.

It’s quite simply my favorite place to be. Where’s your favorite place?

Happy Day o’ Digging

Digging Digging Digging.

Oh Happy Day. Digging Digging Digging.

Yet I get the feeling I’m not alone on this happy day of digging.

Hey Spider! I see you in there!

There’s no use hiding I can see you.

I knew you were spying on me!

Well if you’re gonna follow me, you might as well put those paws to some good use and help me DIG!

My Shadow

I have a shadow, as in a kitten shadow, as in Spider the Kitten.

See at the farm it’s MY JOB to help mom bring hay to the ponies! Well now that Spider is getting bigger, she’s trying to be just like me. I mean I know I’m pretty cool, but does she have to do everything I do?

What’s even worse is that she’s trying to show me up!

True, sometimes I get a little distracted from my duties.

It’s kinda hard not to get distracted when there are so many great smells.

But really Spider? Do you have to ride in the wheel barrel and help hand out hay? Come on. You’re making me look bad!

Kitty Sneak Attack

Yesterday I got to do some scampering around the farm with my two favorite kitties, Cricket and Spider, before work.

I still don’t understand how Cricket is perfectly fine in the chilly barn without a sweater and I have to wear TWO winter coats, and I’m still cold! Do you think that makes me a Pansie?

Even little itty bitty Spider has no problem with the Winter air. I’m beginning to think something is wrong with me…..I swear I’m not an “indoor dog”.

oh look, so cute.

Sometimes  I worry about what Cricket is teaching Spider when I’m not around. I mean just look…..they’re both practicing their sneak attacks – on me!

I just wish they wouldn’t practice on me while I’m “compromised”. Can’t a dog relieve himself in private?

And thus ends my exciting morning at the farm. Until next time!

Cat Nap

My new pal Spider may still be young, but one thing is for sure, she’s definitely mastered the cat nap. Bravo Spider, Bravo.

I very much look forward to some “cat naps” in the sun at the farm with my girls, Cricket and Spider.

Spider in the Barn

Remember how I said that Cricket, the farm cat, was getting a new friend? Well on Halloween night we FINALLY got to bring our kitten home to the farm.

I read EVERYONE’S name suggestions, and thought long and hard about what would be a perfect name for the little kitten – and in the end – me and Cricket decided to name her SPIDER! You know, on account of that it was Halloween and all – no to mention boy can she climb!!

Please tell me she’s not cuter than me?

I just know me, Cricket and Spider are going to have lots of adventures together when she gets bigger!

Love Letter

Dear Cricket,

There are lots of reasons why I love you.

#1. You’re not above rolling in a pile of horse poop so you can blend into your surroundings

#2. Playing chase with you is always a much welcome challenge, I only wish I could climb trees as well as you could

#3. Your hunting skills far surpass mine, at least I know you’ll always have dinner ready when I come home

#4. Sunbathing in the nude is a daily occurrence for you – I just wish you wouldn’t do it in public

#5. You can hold your own in a wrestling match, I admire that in a companion

#6. You once spent the night trapped underneath a bucket, I was impressed at how brave you were in the face of danger

#7. You also got trapped inside the trunk of a small car, and took a bumpy car ride before someone discovered you, come to think of it – your awareness of surroundings might not be too keen, but I love you anyway

#8. You had kittens with another (but I don’t hold that against you) – you have a wonderful mothering instinct

#9. You were once an orphan wandering the streets – it makes you appreciate home that much more

#10. I think if I got you a stunt helmet and cape you wouldn’t be above jumping through hoops with me

I don’t know how to count any higher, but you get the point. Looking forward to many happy years together.

Love,

Ammo
