Bubble Wrap = Fun. I’m pretty sure we can all agree with that!

I’ve got some exciting news! Recently I found out that I’m a finalist in the BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Awards for the Best Dog Blog & Best Pet Blog Photo.
It’s enough to make me feel like a celebrity!
What makes the Nose-to-Nose awards a little different is that this is the only pet industry awards on which pet bloggers and micro-bloggers are judged on the expertise, performance, and creativity of their blog. Each category is judged by a distinguished panel of professionals, and not by popular vote. So don’t worry I won’t be begging for votes (not that I’ve ever been a fan of that anyway), now begging for cookies, that’s another story!
Oh gosh, I can just feel the love!
The best part is that winners will be revealed in an exclusive red carpet ceremony at the BlogPaws Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee at the end of May.
I’m already excitedly making some plans so I can hopefully take a week-long road trip to attend the event. Which is great news for you too, because that means when I get back from my trip I’ll have a whole SLEW of adventures to share with you! You know, like where the best trees to pee on in Tennessee are, and what kind of squirrels they have in Virginia….the important stuff.
So if you know of any great dog friendly spots that I can stop and see on my road trip in a couple of months let me know in the comments below! I can’t wait!
AND THAT’S NOT ALL….
Details below are brought to you by Barkbox and contain affiliate links. But don’t worry, all opinions are entirely my own and I wouldn’t be telling you about Barkbox if I didn’t love them as much as I do!
If that weren’t enough good news…..I’ve got even more! Barkbox is having a Spring Bark Celebration this month with some extra goodies just for you! Woohoo #SpringBark2015
Use code AMMO5 on any new Barkbox subscription from now until March 15th and you’ll receive 1 FREE MONTH + get an additional month FREE FOR A FRIEND! (Because Spring Bark is more fun with friends!).
And let me tell you, a subscription to Barkbox is enough to give your pup a total #springbarkhangover!
I’ll catch you all later after I recover from my Barkbox hangover!
You may have caught my post last month on the saga that is the Dachshund Life Struggle. And if you follow along with me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, then likely you may have already seen many of the Dachshund Life Struggles.
Being a Dachshund is so-dang-hard that you didn’t think it would end right there now did you? No, the struggle continues – and something tells me there are even more to come!
P.S. This one required a video to go along with it, and you can check that out on my youtube channel.
In case you missed last month’s struggles, be sure to check them all out on my blog. You can keep following along with me on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to see more #dachshundlifestruggle and if you’ve got a struggle to add be sure to let me know!
P.S. Don’t forget to share my struggles with all your friends…..we have to spread the word about how hard it is to be a dachshund these days!
I like to think that I’m a pretty stylish dog. I love to shop, and over the years I’ve tested and tried some of the best dog products on the market. I like to think that you (my readers) agree, because one of the common questions I get in e-mails, blog comments, and social media is where did I get a particular product I am seen wearing.
So I decided to create a whole new page on my blog dedicated to all the gear that I own, have tested, and absolutely love!
So I invite you to check out my new Gear page, where I’ve compiled a list of all the gear I own and where you can grab it for your own dog too. From pet food, to winter wear, and even the photography gear my mom uses to take the photos for my blog!
So head on over and check it out, and if you’re wondering about something on the list, just shoot me an e-mail at info@ammothedachshund.com! With such an extensive list, it’s entirely possible I forgot to list something!
Happy Shopping!
P.S. If you have any special pet gear that you love too be sure to post it in the comments below, I love to hear what other pets and pet lovers are digging!
If you follow along with me on Facebook or Instagram, then likely you may have already seen my most recent endeavor, the Dachshund Life Struggle.
Now you might be wondering, what exactly is a Dachshund Life Struggle? Well my friend, simply put – it’s all the things that make being a Dachshund so-dang-hard. The struggle is real my friends, and in order to bring awareness to all the very very hard things us dachshunds have to deal with on a daily basis I’ve started compiling a list.
So without further ado, here’s my list so far….but don’t worry, there are many many more things to add to it!
So as you can see, being a Dachshund is definitely not easy!
Keep following along with me in Instagram and Facebook to see more #dachshundlifestruggle and if you’ve got a struggle to add be sure to let me know!
P.S. Don’t forget to share my struggles with all your friends…..we have to spread the word about how hard it is to be a dachshund these days!
When the winter rolls around I sometimes (like most of you) spend a little more time indoors. Because honestly, I’d much rather be warm and toasty then freezing my tail off! But when it snows, that all changes, because one of my favorite activities involves a fresh dusting of snow and some of my furry four-legged friends.
It’s time to go sledding with my ponies!
All I need is a warm winter coat, an inner tube, and a willing pony! Good thing Boomerang and Blitz were more than happy to let me hitch a ride.
I hear even more snow is headed my way this Saturday……AND I CAN’T WAIT!
What sort of things do you do for fun in the snow with your dog?
It’s been a few years since I’ve set paw on the airport runway, but just after Christmas I decided it was high time I took to the sky once again.
Last time I took to the air (my very first time in fact), I was just a passenger, but this time I figured – why not just fly the plane myself?
After all, if anything were to go wrong – all I had to do was stick my head out the window, since I have my own awesome ear-flapping propellers!
After running through my safety checklist I was ready to load up my passengers and take to the air!
And incase you are wondering, I’m very thorough when it comes to safety.
I even radioed in to the control tower to make sure my plane was stocked with extra cookies – in the event that we had to make an emergency landing on a desert island somewhere. One can never be too prepared.
But, just as I radioed control – they reminded me that I did not in fact have my pilots license and piloting the plane wouldn’t be a great idea. Dang.
To be fair, they did have a point. So I popped into the backseat with mom and readied myself for takeoff.
I have to admit, it’s much more fun to be a passenger then having the responsibility of piloting the plane myself. And I’m sure everyone else was relieved to have an experienced pilot taking us for a ride.
Raise of paws, who thinks I should take my pilot’s license next year? *wink*
How do you think your dog would react during a plane ride? Would they sit back and relax, or try to hang their head out the window? Do tell!
Just after Christmas I went on a fun little excursion to the playground with my family. Who knew playing on the swing set and slides would be so much fun?
I’m already campaigning to add a swing set to my own backyard!
Has your dog ever been to the playground? Did he enjoy playing around as much as I did?
Merry Christmas Friends!!!
I hope you’ve enjoyed celebrating the 12 Days of Cheer with me! December has been quite the crazy whirlwind for me as mom and I have been working lots of overtime at the shop to fulfill everyone’s Christmas framing orders. So since I haven’t had a day off in about 3 weeks, I think I’m pretty much due for one. So I’m going to be taking a short little blogging break until after the new year as I spend today celebrating Christmas with my friends and family.
But incase you’ll miss my fuzzy little face (and wiggly tail), I will be posting over on my Facebook page in the meantime.
And I’m awfully glad that Santa already delivered my presents…..because I just couldn’t help myself! But sometimes everyone deserves to be a little naughty!
Happy Holidays! xoxo,
Every year I look forward to a very special event in my home town. And that special event is the holiday Christmas parade! And lucky for me I always have a front row seat right outside my shop window in town!
Of course when the parade starts I’m always the first one out the door to cheer for all my favorite floats and parade attendees.
I’m always sure to sing along with the school bands in my best cheerful Christmas voice – because singing loudly for all to hear is the best way to spread Christmas Cheer!
Pretty colors, holiday happiness – it’s what makes this time of year oh so special.
And lets not forget the Christmas clown…..because laughter always brightens everyone’s day!
Also, in case you were wondering, don’t worry, I wasn’t the only pup in attendance during the Christmas parade. Just check out this pup who took one for the team and dressed up as one of Santa’s reindeer! He looked so convincing I almost asked him for directions to the North Pole!
But the very best part of the holiday Christmas Parade is always when Santa arrives!
I made sure to shout out my Christmas list as we rode by…..incase he missed my other 5 letters I mailed to the North Pole!
Merry Christmas!
