Surprise!

Today is my mom’s 189th Birthday! Ok fine, 27 in people years, but it sounds way cooler to say 189. I wanted to get my Mom something extra special because she’s so nice to me.

But, Dad said he didn’t think she would really appreciate the gesture. So instead I got her this book.

ok fine, Dad got her the book. But if I didn’t know any better I’d say this book, about a SUPER HERO DACHSHUND, was written about me!

Ammo the Super Hero

You can buy your own copy of the book here.

Dad also got Mom one of these….

(Sadly not the cowboy, just the lasso.) It’s so me and Mom can play cowboys! I already signed Trooper up to be the bull we lasso. I think he’s in trouble, because mom has some super sweet lasso moves already. Just check out the video.

Happy Birthday Mom, love your favorite Dachshund side-kick, Ammo

Everyone wants me on their lap during game night.

Perhaps it might be because I shout the answers out. hehe.

Friday Fetch: Pod Bag

Lets face it, no dog likes to be left home. That is why I’m telling my mom she has to buy one of these.

We all need a fashion fix now and then…dog’s included. With the introduction of Mungo & Maud’s stylish Pod bag, your loyal friend would be barking mad to miss out. Minimalist in design and finished with a chic leather trim, this refined canvas bag is the must have accessory this season.

Now if only I had $600!

You can fetch the pod bag here from Mungo & Maud

Seussville Adventure

Dear Dr. Seuss,

Apparently I missed your Birthday. It was yesterday.

I would have been way more excited had you written about a super cute Dachshund in a hat. Who wants to read about a cat anyway? Sorry I didn’t get you a present. Maybe next year.

Love,

Your Pal Ammo

P.S. If you have any leftover green eggs and ham please send it my way.

Somethings Missing

Cricket and I are sad. Sad because something is missing.

It’s Spider the Kitten.

Mom says not to worry, because Spider just had to visit the vet for a few days to get spayed, and that she’ll be back before we know it.

So me and Cricket are going to sit and wait for our feisty little friend to return to the farm. Because things just aren’t the same without her.

P.S. Want to hear all about mom’s trip with Boomerang to the Horse World Expo? And their Extreme Cowboy Race Competition? Check out the ponie’s blog entry all about it HERE!

Friday Fetch: Silly Squeakers

Admit it, some of the squeaky toys they make for dogs are just plain lame. Really.

And then there are these squeaky toys from VIP PRODUCTS……

They even have some super tuff dog toys, you know, for dogs like me who are super tough!

You can even sign up to be a toy tester and save big on lots of really cool dog toys! You better believe I’m making my Birthday wish list right now!

Leaving on a Jet Plane…

My mom is getting ready to go on a trip……without me! (Someone hold me) And what makes it even worse is that Boomerang gets to go and I don’t!

I have hatched a scheme to hideout in her suitcase, so we’ll see how that goes.

See, Boomerang and mom have been accepted to compete in the Extreme Cowboy Race at the Horse World Expo in Harrisburg, PA February 24 – 27th. I don’t really understand it because mom doesn’t even own a cowboy hat! Which reminds me, maybe if I get a cowboy hat and boots mom will let me come along.

Mom says she wishes very much I could come along, but apparently the Expo doesn’t allow dogs. Stupid if you ask me. What’s a cowboy without his best dog? Seriously.

So until my mom abandons me, I’ve been helping her get Boomerang ready for the big event.

Not trying to brag, but I pretty much taught Boomerang how to be an awesome cowboy cowhorse bronco or whatever he’s supposed to be. After toting him around all over the county for the past Month and a half, I think he’s finally ready.

Just check out this video of Boomerang Practicing last weekend:

So I guess I’ll just have to hang with dad next week while mom’s gone. Boomerang better bring me back a trophy or something after all the hard work I put into training him…..or I’m gonna be peeved!

Also, mom, I expect presents upon your return. Thank you.

Squeak no More

On Friday I said goodbye to one of my favorite toys. Mr. Happy face. You might remember him from a little giveaway I tried to do on my blog back in October. Everyone was supposed to guess how long I kept him alive…..but it didn’t really work because I kept him alive FOREVER! That’s right, I’ve had him since OCTOBER – that’s like 4 months!

I really don’t know why I decided Friday was the day he had to go, it was just time. Sorry Mr. Happy face – maybe someday we will meet again.

Agility Master

As my facebook fans might know, I’ve been taking an Intro to Agility Class at the Dog Training Club of Chester County. So far it’s been a lot of basic stuff to get me prepared for the obstacles, but this week I actually got to practice walking over some low jumps in class.

I don’t have any videos from class (where I’m of course a super star), but I do have this fun video of me and mom practicing at work yesterday.

After learning how to target my nose to spot with clicker training, my mom is having me complete an obstacle and then touch my nose to the target. We haven’t really progressed this far in the class yet, but mom said I’m so far ahead in my “homework” that it wouldn’t hurt to make it a little harder for me. I’m not complaining, I can’t wait to show the big dogs what I can do when we get to class next week (to be fair there is one corgi in my class…..but I’m by far the tiniest).

And since it’s Friday, I thought I’d show you another video. This is just to make you smile.

Yeah, that kitten is crazy. I don’t know whether I should play with her, eat her, or be afraid of her. It’s a conundrum.
