Friday Fetch: ChillSpot – cooling pet bed

Summer is here and the hot hot days in Pennsylvania are just around the corner for me. Being the farm dog that I am I enjoy spending most of my time outside, but when the mid-day heat really gets blazing I find myself looking for the coolest place to get out of the sun.

That’s why when I came across ChillSpot I knew they had come up with a great product to help dogs like me beat the Summer heat.

Hay is for Horses

ammo the dachshund hay is for horses

During the winter months, the ponies require hay – since there isn’t really any grass for them to eat.

I’m all for giving my ponies what they want…..but they sure do eat a lot.

Just look how much hay I had to throw down from the loft the other day!

But, when I see Boomerang’s smiling face…..

…and Blitz’s happy little nose….

…it makes my job as hay thrower-downer all worth while!

Footprints in the Snow

Last night when I was at the the farm it snowed! Being the adventuresome type that I am, I went off to do some exploring while the white stuff was falling from the sky.

Spider (of course) took it upon herself to follow me on my adventure, and never one to be out-done, Spider did a little showing off. (don’t tell her but I was slightly impressed with her tight-rope walking skills)

And as if she hadn’t already showed me up enough, then she took it upon herself to write her name in the snow.

I can’t read “kitty”, but I’m pretty sure that it says “Spider Rules and Ammo Drools”.

Little did she know though, but I also know how to write my name in the snow!

And for those of you who can’t read “dog” it says, “Dear Spider, while you were out I ate all of your  kitty food and left some yellow snow on your pillow. xoxo Ammo”.

I am Dog, Hear Me Roar Bark! hehe.

Friday Fetch: Snowsuits for Dogs

It comes at no surprise that I LOVE the snow. Sure, it’s cold and wet – but where else can you make tunnels that last for miles! So while I countdown the days until our first big snowstorm, I got to thinking, maybe I need a snowsuit?

Well lucky for me I found a whole section on dog snowsuits at Baxter Boo. Now I can hardly wait for the white stuff to fall from the sky!

Sledding

Yes, that’s right…..I’m a sledding expert!

Take me to the mountain please!

The only bad part about sledding in the horse pasture at the farm…..you have to look out for frozen “horse” piles! (makes for a bumpy ride)

Is someone gonna push me or what?

Woohoo!

The hardest part about sledding is walking your sled back up the hill!

Just beware….sledding can be chilly…..

…but a couple extra layers of clothing should do the trick!

Any of my doggie pals been sledding this winter? Post your sledding pictures on my Facebook Page!

All-Weather Farm Dog

I’ll be the first to admit that rainy, wet, and cold weather are not my FAVORITE type of days. I’d much rather have a sunny/warm day to go sunbathing, chase bugs and play in the dirt.

So when we arrived at the farm on Tuesday morning, I’ll admit, I thought long and hard about crying until mom put me back in the car.

But then I remembered….

No. 1 …I’m not a Pansie

No. 2…There was no way I was gonna let a little sleeting rain and ice make me miss all the fun!

Snow Day

I have more to tell you about my exciting Christmas, but I thought I’d interrupt for a little snow day! Santa must have known how much I love the snow, because he ordered up a snowstorm for the day after Christmas! Yipee!

What made it even better was that I got to share my snow day with the ponies at the farm.

Here’s a picture of me on the way to the farm. If you can’t tell I’m uber excited!

I got to help with all kinds of chores around the farm, like bringing hay out to the ponies.

And I got to have a little fun too. Nothing like a good romp in the snow!

Ah, it was a great day to be a dog!
