On hot days there really isn’t anything else better than hitting the pool to keep cool.
Lucky for me my sister loves pool days too, so I’ve got a best friend to keep me company while we float around.
And with one mention of watermelon by mom…..our hot summer day is complete!

Sadly this post is not about “digging”….although I totally wouldn’t complain if it was! No it’s about what I’m currently digging, as in what I think’s cool and what I’m secretly hoping finds its way to my mailbox.

Thanks to my mom and her handy glue gun I bet you would never have known that I’m not the real Rocket Raccoon from the Guardians of the Galaxy. I probably had you fooled didn’t I?
Probably a bit more convincing when my best pal Groot shows up to the party though!
Now if you’ll excuse me, me and my pals Star-Lord, Gamora, and Groot need to break out of jail so we can go defend the galaxy.

The leaves have changed, the weather is cooler, but that didn’t stop me from doing one last “summertime” activity that I love!
Just before my 7th Birthday I hit up my favorite lake one more time before I need to break out my winter wardrobe.
It may have been overcast, and much chillier than I’m used to on the lake, but it was still fun!
I just made sure to wear my tank top and life vest……and put my face in the wind a little more cautiously. Because goodness knows I DID NOT want to fall in that cold water!
And when the wind got a little strong, my dad was there to scoop me up for a ride in the kayak. Yay for dads!
Sadly, it’s time for me to say farewell to the lake until next year (well at least to paddleboarding on the lake). Until we meet again lake!

One of my favorite summertime adventures with my family is to go camping, and as luck would have it this weekend I did just that! You may have caught a glimpse of my outdoor activities this weekend on Instagram and Facebook, and while I promise a full recap of all my camping related fun, today I’d thought I’d share how I pack for a camping trip.

The key to summer camping with your four-legged companion is to make sure you bring plenty of items to keep them cool in the heat. During the day you can also choose camping activities that involve water (like swimming, kayaking, or boating) or shade (like hiking in the woods or geocaching). And when in doubt, wait for a cooler month to go on a camping adventure.

One of the great things about the summer is getting to spend the day at my mom mom & pop pop’s pool.
I wouldn’t say that I love to swim or anything, but floating around on a raft in the water is a pretty good time.
I’ve become sort of an expert at patrolling the waters, making sure no one drowns and that everyone plays by the rules. I run a tight ship at my pool!
Now if only I could get someone to bring me out a tray of hot dogs – I think I might never leave!

This past weekend was a hot one, so to beat the heat I headed over to my MomMom & PopPop’s house to take a dip in the pool.
Floating around the pool on my raft can be quite enjoyable when the temperatures reach near 90F.
I dubbed myself Captain Ammo and invited my cousins to come play with me aboard my ship flotation device!
My cousin Chase volunteered to be first mate and we embarked on a wild adventure at sea pool.
Chase and I discussed where we thought the buried treasure might be – and we both agreed that it must be under the sea pool.
Our plans to rescue said treasure were foiled though when we realized that I forgot to pack my floaties. AAARRRGH!
Don’t worry though, Mom signed me up for swim lessons so our next adventure will be sure to lead us to gold and riches.
