Wow, that was some March! Exciting as it was, I can’t wait to kick off April. Speaking of April, how did you guys enjoy my little April Fools Day Joke? That’s right, the Toshiba Petbook I mentioned at the beginning of this post was a clever little April Fools Day joke thought up by the funny folks at Toshiba. I thought it was just too hilarious not to share (although I secretly did wish it was real). If you click on an of the “learn more” buttons at the bottom of their page you can see their little ruse!
Happy April Fools Day! Did I fool you?

Most who know me know that I’m a big advocate for healthy pet living. Whether you are human or canine, it’s important to maintain a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and keep up with your preventative health care. So when I heard about the PawCheck At-Home Pet Wellness Kits for Dogs and Cats from Access Animal Wellness LLC I thought it was a great way to keep us pets in tip-top shape!
PawCheck sent met one of their at-home Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) test kits and this handy P-Scoop (to make pet urine collection a little simpler and a lot less messy).
To get started I strapped on my raincoat and bow tie (because when you test your urine you have to look fashionable) and headed outside to pee.
Using the P-Scoop was simple and mess free. The wand is even adjustable in length making it easy to slide under you pup to collect a sample. Now if you’ve ever had to get urine from your dog before you know how messy and hard it can be. When I was a pup mom had to get some for my vet and she followed me around for a good hour with a tiny plastic tray trying not to startle me by sliding it underneath me…..not the most ideal way to do it!
Then all you have to do is dip the test device into the urine sample for 10 seconds and await your results.
Don’t worry, I made the process a bit more glamourous by wearing my cute sweater and bow tie. You’re welcome.
After replacing the cap and letting it sit on a flat surface for 2 minutes you are ready to read the results. Then using the handy color chart you can match the colors on your testing wand. And good news guys, I don’t have a UTI! Yay!
The PawCheck test kits aren’t just for testing for Urinary Tract Infections, they also carry a Diabetes and Kidney Failure test as well as a General Wellness Test that covers all three for both dogs and cats.
I feel like these would be great for pet parents that have animals that have frequent UTI’s, pets that are difficult to take to the vet unless absolutely necessary (cats or animals that are fearful), and older pets. Testing early could save you costly vet bills and possibly even save your pet’s life. (oh and don’t worry, there are easier methods to collect your cat’s urine)
Check out the video of my PawCheck testing adventure:

A couple of years ago I took to the air (just like Snoopy only not quite as dramatic) and went for my first single engine plane ride! I had a blast looking at everything below turn into tiny little specs….just like ants….or rodents to be hunted!
I can’t wait for my next plane ride! Has your dog ever flown before?
You can read all about my plane ride in 2012 and how I took to air with ease!
Over the past several months I’ve been helping my mom design our very own set of adorable dachshund prints for my shop. With yours truly as the muse we are finally able to introduce 6 sweet prints that are now available for purchase!
Available matted or unmatted these prints come as a Black and Tan Dachshund or Red Dachshund with 3 different background patterns to choose from.
Each one was completely hand-drawn by my mom on her tablet and has been professionally printed on a petite 4″x4″ size – most appropriate considering us dachshunds are short and sweet.
So if you’re looking to add something happy to your walls this spring you can check out these Graphic Dachshund prints in my Etsy Shop starting at $10!
And as an added bonus, you can use code FREESHIP to get Free Shipping on all domestic orders! Yay!

Last week my March Barkbox arrived in the mail with the idea to get your day started off right!
Inspired by a good, old-fashioned breakfast my box was packed full of goodies to jump start my morning!
Goodies like these Organic Breakfast Dog Biscuits from Wagatha’s. Made in Vermont with organic, human-grade ingredients, these biscuits are wheat-free and lactose-free!
Or the ever popular 100% beef bladder Barkworthies, which I gobbled up seconds after mom took this photo.
And who doesn’t love a little rabbit in their bowl? These Hare of the Dog Rabbit treats are healthy and wheat-free.
And the icing on the cake in my bowl, Aussie Naturals leather egg and bacon toys. Sadly they don’t taste like their counterparts, but they do squeak and I had a blast tearing them apart!
So if you want to start your pup’s day out right too you can snag a Barkbox subscription and have goodies like these delivered to your front door every month.
And don’t worry, you don’t have to share if you don’t want to – because I definitely don’t plan to!
You can fetch your own BarkBox starting at $19 a month. Save $5 on your BarkBox subscription if you use code AMMO5!

When my friends over at Chewy.com sent me a package of these Nutrisource Soft & Tender Lamb Dog Treats, I knew it was just the thing to bring with me on my weekend road trip to the mountains.
Nutrisource soft & tender treats are made in the USA with real lamb and added vitamins and minerals. They contain only natural ingredients and have no wheat, no soy and no artificial colors!
They also contain a trusted source of L-Carnitine which is an amino acid. It helps your pet naturally burn fat and promotes loss of body weight and healthy weight maintenance.
So when I met my new bear friend in Dushure, PA – I decided to share the bounty since it looked like he had put on a few extra winter pounds himself!
My “sharing” didn’t last long because who am I kidding, these treats were too yummy not to enjoy myself!
You can fetch your own Nutrisource Soft & Tender Treats from Chewy.com for about $3 a bag!
And now you have a chance to win some super goodies from Chewy.com! Enter Below!

Don’t forget, today is the last day to enter my Dogtails Shampoo Giveaway!
I spotted these Dog Rocks recently and thought they were quite an interesting product. They are a 100% natural prevention & cure to canine lawn urine burn patches. They are safe for all breeds of dogs and any other pet you share your household with. Dog Rocks were discovered in Australia by an Aboriginal gardener in the 1990s and the product has since been tried, tested, launched & sold into pet, vet and garden centre markets worldwide.
Simply place the rocks in your dog’s water bowl and it helps keep the impurities out so your lawn stays nice and green!
You can fetch your own dog rocks for about $16.
Disclosure: This post was not paid for or sponsored by dog rocks, and I have never tried this product myself. Just wanted to share my latest find!

With today being the official first day of Spring I thought it would be appropriate to share a throwback video of me getting as dirty as possible on the farm. You know, in honor of all the springtime mud thats here!
It’s not Spring unless you get dirty!
What kind of dirt does your dog track in this time of year?
