Me and mom have been busy updating our online Etsy Shop (which I share with the Painting Ponies), so today I thought I’d share with you some of my new additions to the shop.

Now, although I feel I am the most talented artist in the bunch, my Painting Pony friends (mostly Minnow) have also been busy filling the shop with some of their new creations.

Ok, I admit it, Minnow is pretty talented. But, he has been painting for much longer than I have (since 2007 to be exact).

Ponies, Kittens and Groundhog Holes

I spend a lot of my time on the family farm, and as I roam freely over the 20 acres I can always find plenty to do. I thought it would be a blast to share some of the fun stuff that I do on the farm with everyone, so I made my mom spend a day following me around.

On this particular morning I visited with my pony friends Minnow & Blitz for a short while. They made funny faces at me while I sniffed around for buried treasure in the tall grass. So far my efforts have yet to produce any riches or gold, but I won’t give up.

Then I spent a good deal of time lounging around with my kitty pals, Spider and Cricket.

Spider and Cricket are usually quite content to spend their entire days sunning.

Well, in Spider’s case, also wrestling bits of hay.

Me on the other hand, I get a little bored of sunning and lounging all day. So that’s why I struck up a game of Hide and Seek with Cricket, and ultimately found this awesome stick to play with.

And just when I was starting to think that I didn’t have anything else to show my mom (and my blog friends) about what everyday life is like for me on the farm…..

….I remembered the holy grail of adventures, the thing that I covet the most, and don’t normally share with anyone…

…for security purposes I can’t show you EXACTLY how I got there….

…but regardless, WELCOME TO MY HOLE! My groundhog hole to be exact, and if I’m divulging all my secrets, then you must know that there isn’t just one hole on the farm, but ten to be exact, well eleven if you count the one across the culdesac in the neighbor’s yard.

I know where all my little furry friends live, and I monitor their where-a-bouts on a day-to-day basis. It’s a tough job, but I just know one of these days my groundhog friends will invite me in for tea.

So, there you have it, a typical day on the farm for me. What about you? Where is your holy grail of adventures? Any of my Dachshund friends out there monitor groundhog holes too?

Friday Fetch: Pet Calendars

I’m probably pretty accurate when I say most people (and dogs with a busy schedule like me) check a calendar every day of their lives. How else are you going to remember ~~vet appointments~~ play dates, personal appearances, and trips to the pet store?

Well since your calendar is probably your most looked at item, it only makes sense that it should be full of pet swagger! Even though 2012 isn’t here JUST yet, I’ve gathered up some super cool pet-themed calendars from Paper Source.

Friday Fetch: DIY Collar Bling

diy dog charms I’m an individual, which means I like stuff that sets me apart from the crowd (How many super hero dachshunds do you know?). So when I came across this DIY tutorial to make your own bling for your collar, I knew at some point I’d be begging someone with hands to make me something cool to wear around my neck!

This tutorial from Jenny Ryan in the Good Dog Magazine gives you details on how to use Sculpey clay to sculpt, then bake, some bling for your own furry friend. Seriously, this is so simple I’m wondering why I didn’t think of it!? You can check out the full tutorial.

So, now the question is, who’s going to make me some super hero bling?

Ludwigs Day 2

I’ll admit, after Day 1 at the Ludwigs Corner Horse Show I was a little tired. It’s hard being adorable all the time.

But, mom brought out the big guns (aka chicken) and I was more than happy to show everyone my favorite tricks!

Not trying to brag, but no one plays dead like I do!

Minnow drew a crowd too with his amazing painting skills……but really…..I stole the show!

“Super Ammo” knows how to make everyone laugh.

Even when you have technical difficulties with your stunt helmet.

In fact, I got so much love after my performances that I think Minnow was jealous!

When I got back to the farm I took a well deserved nap. Which actually ended up being pretty short lived…

Ludwigs Day 1

I spent my Labor Day weekend hanging out with my good pal, Minnow the Painting Pony at the Ludwigs Corner Horse Show. Our Mission – to make all the BIG & LITTLE kids laugh and giggle.

I’m not gonna lie, Minnow did most of the work on the first day. Not that I didn’t help – I just used my skills in a different way.

I used my stunning good looks and overall cuteness to attract a crowd.

You see, I’m utterly irresistible when I wear my stunt helmet.

After I drew in the crowd it was up to Minnow to entertain everyone with his amazing painting skills and super awesome tricks. I jumped in here and there with some of my awesome stunts – but I really got into the swing of things on Day 2, which you’ll hear all about tomorrow!

You can catch us on Saturday from 10 – 2pm (Minnow will do a special painting at 11am, 12pm, and 1pm) and on Sunday from 11 – 4pm (Minnow will do a special painting at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm).

adam voorhes photography I don’t know about you, but I LOVE having my picture taken. Dressing up like someone you aren’t, making silly faces, and simply having a good time! So when I stumbled across the photography of Adam Voorhes (via)- I knew – someday I must meet this guy so he can take my picture!

He somehow manages to make pooches, bears, and even chickens look dignified and fancy – and we all know how scrappy those chickens can be! hehe.

Adventure Ahead

I bet you’re wondering what kind of adventures I’m up to today!

Since you asked so politely, I’ll tell you. I’m busy packing, because me and Minnow the Painting Pony are headed to an event this weekend.

We’re going to have a booth at the Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show on Saturday AND Sunday! Minnow & I are going to be doing tricks all day long, and we’re both bringing some of our famous paintings that will be available to purchase. I’m even bringing my Christmas cards!

We hope you’ll be able to make it, so I can meet all my friends in person!

But don’t worry, even if you can’t make the event – I always bring back lots of pictures and video! And don’t forget, I’ll be at the Chadds Ford Dog Days of Summer II event next weekend! Yeah!
