Memorial Day, a time to remember all of the fallen soldiers who have fought to protect this wonderful place I call home. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
xoxo,
Over the weekend mom and I arrived at the farm to find a celebration! Mom said it was a baby shower for my soon-to-be little sister, although the way I saw it was a celebration of me becoming a big brother!
It was the perfect combination of ponies….
….and food! (My favorite).
Of course it wouldn’t have been a celebration if I didn’t break of my bowtie! The brother-to-be always has to look his best.
Even though my buddy Minnow was just outside in the pasture, we certainly had to include him in the festivities too. So he was inside in spirit for a pin-the-baby-on-the-pony game.
Eventually it was time for my favorite part of the day! Opening presents!
I’m an expert at gift unwrapping and I was super excited to see what all my friends and family brought to celebrate my “becoming a big brother”.
There were lots of sweet dachshund (and pony) related gifts that were opened but I was starting to realize why mom said it was a “baby shower”.
Eventually Trooper and I started to loose interest in the baby gear so I decided to checkout what fun games there might be for me to play instead.
I was in luck, because not only was there was a stinky inspired game just for me, but it also included candy bars in a “guess which candy bar/dirty diaper game”. I may or may not have gotten in big trouble for trying to steal one of them! 😉
I sulked for a bit about not being involved as much as I would have liked in this “baby shower”, but mom told me not to worry…
…for she says soon I’ll have to test all the baby gear for my sister before she comes. And something tells me mom and dad will be practicing carrying me around in this baby carrier pretty soon!
After the shower I helped gift all our special friends these cute little horse shoes to show how much I appreciated them coming to celebrate my little sister.
Mom, Dad, Minnow, Me and Boomerang (who just happened to be in another pasture for this picture) are super excited for my little sister to get here! I can’t wait to show her where all the groundhog holes are on the farm, she’s going to love it!
Do you include your dog in family gatherings and parties?
Sometimes I get a taste of adventure and it’s pretty much all I need to send me into a full blown meltdown when mom won’t let me off the leash to investigate further.
In this case that “taste” consisted of me physically biting a wild animal in the woods. What can I say, I like to live life on the edge! Adventure Awaits my friends!
Does your dog take hunting as seriously as I do?

When my new friends over at DOOG sent me one of their Walkie Bags to test out, at first I was a bit perplexed.
I mean, it’s not exactly sized for my short stature, and I wasn’t even exactly sure how I was supposed to wear it?
But then mom informed me that it wasn’t for me at all, but it was for her! Oh but of course!
This cool satchel has everything you might need to take with you on a walk with your dog. It’s even got a handy pouch on the front for degradable pick up bags (and even comes with a few to get you started).
It’s also has a water bottle holder (or tennis ball holder depending on how you look at it) and a water proof, inner sleeve to protect your valuables from slobbery dog items.
It’s the perfect size for stashing some pet treats along with anything else you might need while out and about with your pup.
With my little sister on the way soon mom says we’re going to need more handy ways to carry all the essentials, and the DOOG Walkie Bag fits just the bill!
It comes in 5 fun colors too so you can choose just the right one to fit your style!
You can snag your very own DOOG Walkie Bag for $39.99, and as a bonus use code welovedogs for 10% off your order!
And now for the best part…

It’s true. I’ve been hiding something from you.
This blog has always been a way for me to share my daily adventures with the world, and I love that all of you continue to check in to see what I’m up to in my life.
From snow days on the farm…
…beach days in the summer…
…and my hard working days at the shop, I’ve shared just about everything on this blog.
Except there is one thing that I’ve kept a secret. Until now…
This summer I’m going to be starting my biggest adventure yet, as a BIG BROTHER! That’s right, after 7 years of being an “only child” my family is going to be gaining a new member.
My new 2-legged little sister will be here before I know it, and I’ve still got a lot to do to prepare!
I’ve already been practicing my dress-up skills, and I don’t even mind having to wear pink shades with my fashionable bunny slippers….
…just so long as Minnow and I can still play Super Heroes with her too!
While I know things around here will change, I’m more than ready for my next big adventure!
Thanks to all of you for supporting me along the way, and being there to cheer me on no matter where life takes me. Adventure Awaits!

Disclaimer: this post and giveaway is brought to you by Pet Qwerks. All opinions are my own and I only share products I think you and your pets will love!
My new friends over at Pet Qwerks recently came out with a new dog chew called the Flavorit™ that I think your dogs are going to love! Now if your dog likes to chew (as most dogs do), this is a new Nylon bone that they’re going to love sinking their teeth into.
The Flavorit comes in 8 different flavors that are infused into the nylon bones and is available in 4 sizes. They also come in a Flex version for moderate chewers as well as the standard version for tough chewers.
Since I’m a very aggressive chewer I decided to start out with the standard version (later I did test out the Flex, but it’s not the best fit for me since I am so aggressive with my chewing).
Now you may have noticed the tiny little holes on each side of the Flavorit. They are what make this nylon bone so unique! Not only is each bone flavored as is, but you can also fill each of these tiny flavor cells with your dog’s favorite soft spread like peanut butter, cheese, cream cheese or anything else soft.
Both sides of the Flavorit have a concave design so that the messy treats you put on your bone end up in your dog’s mouth (or the bone) and not on the carpet. Mom found it helpful to wipe off any excess peanut butter with a paper towel before she gave it to me so that I for sure wouldn’t make a mess on anything I wasn’t supposed to.
I have to say the standard Flavorit held up quite well to my big chompers, and the added peanut butter flavor (which is my favorite) really kept me busy for quite some time.
Mom even let me chew on it on her brand-new carpet….and it really was mess-free! (or I would of been in big trouble).
The Flavorit is made in the USA of 100% nylon and is even dishwasher safe (if your dog can’t get all the flavor out on their own!).
So if you’ve got a dog that loves to chew, or a dog that needs a little boredom busting in their life, then you might want to check out the new Flavorit from Pet Qwerks! You can even save 20% with code flavorit20
And now for the best part!

While I share pretty much everything on this blog, there are also plenty of things in my life’s adventures that don’t make it into a blog post. Not because I don’t want to share, and not because they aren’t “share-worthy”, but because there just aren’t enough hours in the day to share every image mom and dad snap of me. But since life is all about those simple pleasures, I thought I’d collect a few of them from the past 2 weeks to share with you today! From helping mom frame, to hanging out with my ponies, and even rolling in the stinkiest thing I could find…those simple pleasures are what makes life so fun!
What do you think your dog’s simple pleasures are?

And now it’s time for my April adventures…
I made Trooper take a bath (because it was a bit too chilly for me!).
I shared what it looks like to be a spoiled dog.
Trooper and I joined the Night’s Watch.
I tested out an adjustable leash from my friends at Ruffwear.
I got my nap on once again in my “Oh the Places you Sleep” Series.
Trooper and I made it known that we wanted to eat!
I practiced my good dog skills at the hardware store.
I played some basketball and ate some snoballs!
My natural instinct led me to a hole.
I ate my fill of Bully Sticks.
I introduced my new Ice Queen friends on the farm.
I got some water for my beach.
And that leads me to May! With the unofficial start of summer (Memorial Day Weekend) almost here, I just know May is going to be the best month yet!
What sort of adventures did you have with your dog this past month?
A few weeks ago this interesting looking pool* showed up in my beach ponies’ arena.
*affiliate link
I thought, well isn’t this nice, how did they know that no beach is complete without some “ocean”. Just as I was about to take a dip I had a thought…
…what if the real fun was UNDER the pool? Naturally I’m an inquisitive fellow, and you can’t help but wonder.
So a digging we will go!
Sadly the only excitement was in actually digging the hole. So it looks like my new pool will just have to wait for warmer days this summer when I can sun bathe on my beach and take a dip afterwards.
And I think I’ll have to share my pool pass too, because Blitz has been waiting patiently for his turn next!
Are your dogs inquisitive in nature just like me?
It’s come to my attention that I never really properly introduced some of my new friends on the farm. (those two frosty gals behind me).
Now if my friends Etna & Aldis look a bit chilly, not to worry….they actually LOVE the cold because they hail from Iceland!
That’s right, these Icelandic Horses are a unique breed of smallish horses that came to Iceland with the first settlers from Norway 1100 years ago. Archeological digs in Europe have revealed that they are descendent from an ancient breed of horses that is now extinct outside of Iceland, where it has been preserved in isolation.
To be honest, in the beginning I wasn’t really sure they were horses at all with all that wild hair.
But eventually that sassy pony stink eye emerged, and I knew, yup….horses for sure!
One thing is for sure though, it must be pretty nice to not be bothered by the cold! I admit, I’m pretty jealous of their ability to thrive in the cold. At least summer is on it’s way!
