Sleepypod Clickit Sport Review & Giveaway

Sleepypod Clickit Sport review & giveaway // Ammo the Dachshund

Now you might remember that several months ago my pal Trooper and I took the Sleepypod Clickit, the top rated pet car safety restraint on the market, for a test ride. Well this time I’m going to share with you the brand-new Sleepypod Clickit SPORT.

Sleepypod Clickit Sport review & giveaway // Ammo the Dachshund

Clickit Sport is Sleepypod’s next generation dog safety harness. Their new design makes it light and easy to use, without sacrificing safety. It’s also easy to put on your dog with a simple step in design.

Sleepypod Clickit Sport review & giveaway // Ammo the Dachshund

A patent pending Infinity Loop design eliminates the need for strength-rated, steel hardware. This, in combination with a padded vest, work together to distribute and reduce damaging forces that can cause injury. Less hardware means Clickit Sport is even easier to connect and quicker to release – and all you need to connect your pet to the car is a seatbelt.

Sleepypod Clickit Sport review & giveaway // Ammo the Dachshund

So with our new Sleepypod Clickit Sport Harnesses Trooper and I were excited to take it for a test ride.

Sleepypod Clickit Sport review & giveaway // Ammo the Dachshund

Trooper, being the bigger dog that he is, loves riding on the backseat of the car – so with the Clickit Sport he easily snapped into his restraint. Since I’m a bit smaller, and have trouble seeing out the window – I prefer to ride in a booster seat. And while Sleepypod doesn’t recommend using their harnesses in any other way than they are designed (for the safest possible ride), I did come up with a little modification that made it just as easy for me to still ride in my booster.

Sleepypod Clickit Sport review & giveaway // Ammo the Dachshund

I simply snapped a spare collar through the Infinity loops on the Clickit Sport and then attached the collar to my seatbelt tether.

Check out how Trooper and I enjoyed our first ride….

Trooper and I love the new Sleepypod Clickit Sport, and the great news is at $69.99 it’s a more affordable pet restraint option with all the safety benefits. You can fetch one for your pet from Sleepypod!

The Clickit Sport is the first and only dog harness in the industry to be certified by the Independent Pet Safety Research Institution, the Center For Pet Safety. So you can feel good knowing your pet is as safe as can be in the car!

And now for the best part….

Merry Christmas from Ammo

12 Days of Cheer! Merry Christmas from Ammo the Dachshund

Merry Christmas Friends!!!

I hope you’ve enjoyed celebrating the 12 Days of Cheer with me! December has been quite the crazy whirlwind for me as mom and I have been working lots of overtime at the shop to fulfill everyone’s Christmas framing orders. So since I haven’t had a day off in about 3 weeks, I think I’m pretty much due for one. So I’m going to be taking a short little blogging break until after the new year as I spend today celebrating Christmas with my friends and family.

But incase you’ll miss my fuzzy little face (and wiggly tail), I will be posting over on my Facebook page in the meantime.

12 Days of Cheer! Merry Christmas from Ammo the Dachshund

And I’m awfully glad that Santa already delivered my presents…..because I just couldn’t help myself! But sometimes everyone deserves to be a little naughty!

Happy Holidays! xoxo, Ammo the Dachshund

Every year I look forward to a very special event in my home town. And that special event is the holiday Christmas parade! And lucky for me I always have a front row seat right outside my shop window in town!

12 Days of Cheer! Annual Christmas Parade // Ammo the Dachshund

Of course when the parade starts I’m always the first one out the door to cheer for all my favorite floats and parade attendees.

12 Days of Cheer! Annual Christmas Parade // Ammo the Dachshund

I’m always sure to sing along with the school bands in my best cheerful Christmas voice – because singing loudly for all to hear is the best way to spread Christmas Cheer!

Pretty colors, holiday happiness – it’s what makes this time of year oh so special.

And lets not forget the Christmas clown…..because laughter always brightens everyone’s day!

Also, in case you were wondering, don’t worry, I wasn’t the only pup in attendance during the Christmas parade. Just check out this pup who took one for the team and dressed up as one of Santa’s reindeer! He looked so convincing I almost asked him for directions to the North Pole!

12 Days of Cheer! Annual Christmas Parade // Ammo the Dachshund

But the very best part of the holiday Christmas Parade is always when Santa arrives!

I made sure to shout out my Christmas list as we rode by…..incase he missed my other 5 letters I mailed to the North Pole!

12 Days of Cheer! The Annual Christmas Tree Murder

The Annual Murdering of our Christmas Tree // Ammo the Dachshund

Every year I head off to the Tricolor Tree Farm to cut down murder my holiday tree.

The Annual Murdering of our Christmas Tree // Ammo the Dachshund

After spending a good while looking for our unsuspecting tree victim we take the obligatory selfie with the “chosen one”.

The Annual Murdering of our Christmas Tree // Ammo the Dachshund

All before chopping it down to bring into our home. It’s sort of a funny tradition if you really think about it, but my dad takes the tree murdering very seriously.

The Annual Murdering of our Christmas Tree // Ammo the Dachshund

And before you know it, the deed is done, and our tree is ready to be carted off to its new home.

The Annual Murdering of our Christmas Tree // Ammo the Dachshund

The friendly staff at Tricolor help to wrap up my tree, just incase there is any chance of it escaping on our way home.

Tied and bound, he’s off on an adventure of epic Christmas tree proportions.

The Annual Murdering of our Christmas Tree // Ammo the Dachshund

And incase you’re feeling sad for our little Christmas tree friend. Don’t worry, I found him a nice spot in my living room, he has a fresh bowl of water and…..

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair // Ammo the Dachshund

Yippee! It’s almost Christmas! And to get in the holiday spirit, I thought I’d share my fun an easy DIY for some holiday dog collar flair!

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair // Ammo the Dachshund

Here’s what you’ll need:

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair // Ammo the Dachshund

Following the directions that came with your fabric covered button kit, use your holiday fabric to create a button. For mine I used a 1″ kit.

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair // Ammo the Dachshund

Choosing a smaller pattern works best and may depend on the size of your button.

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair // Ammo the Dachshund

Then simply tie a small piece of elastic to the back of the button loop that will securely hold your button to the collar (thin elastic works best).

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair // Ammo the Dachshund

Then slip it onto your dog’s favorite collar, and you’ve got yourself some holiday flair!

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair // Ammo the Dachshund

Simple, fun, and oh-so-festive!

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair // Ammo the Dachshund

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair // Ammo the Dachshund

They were so easy to make that now I can’t decide which ones to wear….perhaps I should just wear them all!

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Holiday Dog Collar Flair // Ammo the Dachshund

Make sure to post your dog’s holiday flair on my Facebook page, so we can all join in on the festive fun! Happy Holidays! Ammo the Dachshund
