Trick or Treat and Happy Halloween

Disclaimer: I was given a product from Chewy in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own, and I only share products I think you and your dogs will love.

Trick or Treat and Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!!

I bet you’re wondering why I’m dressed like a lobster today instead of in my super cool Team Zissou costume. Well there is a very good reason.

Trick or Treat and Happy Halloween

See even though it’s Halloween I can’t go trick or treating, mostly because candy is apparently not good for us dogs. Which is totally unfair if you ask me.

Trick or Treat and Happy Halloween

So instead I’ll be staying home tonight and handing out my own treats, these fun Boo Bars from Chewy.com

Trick or Treat and Happy Halloween

Boo Bars made by Blue Buffalo are:

  • Oven-baked for a mouth-watering taste of pumpkin & cinnamon, and made with wholesome grains, fruits and veggies
  • Jam-packed with omegas and antioxidants for a healthy skin and coat and strong immune system
  • Made with no chicken/poultry by-product meals, just real ingredients
  • Don’t have any corn, wheat or soy, so it’s great for pups with food allergies
  • Contain no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors, just natural dog treats enhanced with added vitamins

And according to me, they taste delicious!

Trick or Treat and Happy Halloween

So now back to why I have this lobster costume one. See these treats tasted so good that I was worried all the little ghosts and goblins were going to gobble them up tonight. So to make sure there is plenty leftover for me I wore this lobster costume with scary CLAWS that can pinch anyone that tries to take all the cookies! Smart thinking right?

Nobody better try and steal my cookies! Just in case your dog feels the same way about their Halloween treats, you can grab them their own at Chewy.com.

Fair Hill International 2016 from a Dog’s View

Just like I did last year I decided to head out to the Fair Hill International Event in Maryland a few weekends back. This event at Fair Hill is one of the most prestigious international three day events in the world, and is the ultimate test of a horse and rider. Through tests in dressage, endurance, and stadium jumping the horse and rider teams work together to show that they can compete in the most demanding and highest levels of equestrian sports.

Fair Hill International 2016

To get to the event you have to ride on a school bus (the highlight for me)!

Fair Hill International 2016

Over the years I’ve become quite the expert at school bus riding. I mean just look how cool I look, I bet everyone will want to sit next to me!

Fair Hill International 2016

This year was a little different though, because I got to bring my sister along for the fun! And at just 9 weeks old I got to take her for her first school bus ride!

Fair Hill International 2016

Before I could give my sister all the cool kid tips we had arrived at the event, I was just going to have to teach her on the fly.

Fair Hill International 2016

We started off the day by visiting the main arena to watch the horses jumping.

Fair Hill International 2016

As exciting as the jumping was, I totally couldn’t help myself when I spotted a make-shift hole in the straw bales. It was calling my name…so I made a fort.

Fair Hill International 2016

After the jumping had wrapped up for the day I took my sister over to the kids play area.

Fair Hill International 2016

Immediately I was the cool kid in the play area too, even the Alpacas flocked to me for my autograph. 😉

best-friends-riding-ponies20161016-104

We took selfies, and rode ponies, having ourselves a grand time.

Fair Hill International 2016

I even started teaching her how to REALLY ride.

Fair Hill International 2016

As you can see, she’s starting to get the hang of it. No hands already! She’s gonna be a daredevil just like me.

Fair Hill International 2016

And that’s where my adventure rearENDS. 😉 We had a fantastic fall day at Fair Hill International, and I got to teach my sister how to be really cool.

Who knows, maybe someday I’ll get to watch my sister competing at Fair Hill!

Swimming in the Laurels

Hiking in the Laurels with Friends

When my sister was about 3 weeks old my cousins came to visit from the south. That little white dog is my cousin Sharkie, and the bigger dog on the right is my newly rescued cousin, Scout. And of course you know me and Trooper!

Hiking in the Laurels with Friends

Since it’s rude not to take your guests on fun adventures when they visit you, of course I had to take them to the river for some swimming fun!

Hiking in the Laurels with Friends

And don’t worry, my sister came along for the fun too. Although she was much too young to join in the water activities.

Hiking in the Laurels with Friends

Trooper and Scout became fast friends and took to the water in no time. Especially Scout who I think may be part fish.

Hiking in the Laurels with Friends

Now I tend to be a little more reserved with my swimming, and I usually don’t like to swim unless I have my life vest* on. But unfortunately this was a spur of the moment trip and I forgot to pack it! (Same with the other dogs who have life vests too).

While mom always keeps a watchful eye on me when I’m around the water, she had to watch my sister too.

So my pal Trooper stepped up to keep a watchful eye on me when I finally decided it was so hot that I had to test out the water.

What a great pal, making sure I got to shore safely each time.

Next time I’ll be sure to pack my life vest, but it’s good to know I’ve got friends that will help me out!

Dogs And Their People // Ammo the Dachshund in Barkbook

Now at first glance this might look like just a cute book about Dogs and Their People. And while that fun smiling corgi is super fun, there is something even more special about this book…

Dogs And Their People // Ammo the Dachshund in Barkbook

…I’m in the book! As you can see my sister couldn’t wait to help me celebrate my very first “in print” literature.

Dogs And Their People // Ammo the Dachshund in Barkbook

Many lucky dogs just like me have people that love them very much (like my sister here), so much so that the quirky stories that prove their love are included in this book of collected stories by my friends over at Barkbox!

Dogs And Their People // Ammo the Dachshund in Barkbook

So I’m sure none of you are surprised that I might be included in this book, after all my mom and dad do some crazy things to show me that they care. (Taking me flying, a road trip so I could walk the red carpet, and documenting my entire life on this blog to name a few)

Dogs And Their People // Ammo the Dachshund in Barkbook

In the Dogs and their People Book I’ve got an entire page dedicated to me, written by my mom!

Dogs And Their People // Ammo the Dachshund in Barkbook

The Barkshop even came out with this super fun replica book that doubles as a baby toy (or I guess dog toy depending on who you are)!

Dogs And Their People // Ammo the Dachshund in Barkbook

So if you’re looking for a cool gift for all your friends this holiday season, or just can’t get enough of yours truly, be sure to grab this fabulous book! It’s got so many fun reads inside that I’m still not finished it completely.

Music in the Park

Just a few days before my sister was born I attended one last event with my mom and dad as an only “fur child”.

Music in the Park with Ammo the Dachshund

This was the first time I went to my town’s Music in the Park event, and boy was I in for a treat.

Music in the Park with Ammo the Dachshund

See all the children at the event seemed to know that I was going to be a big brother soon, so they took it upon themselves to break me in.

P.S. How cool is this kid’s “Indiana Jones*” outfit, now that would make a cool Halloween costume! *affiliate link

Sticky faces and lots of love, I was pretty sure I could totally get used to this.

One last photo with my mom and dad before we became a family of 4. I had no idea how much better it was going to get.

Music in the Park with Ammo the Dachshund

Then before I knew it, my sister was here – and guess what – I got to take her to music in the park a few days later!

Here’s a short video of me attending the event before she was born, and then again when she could enjoy it too!

I’m thinking I might need to teach my sister some of my sweet dance moves when she gets bigger. I didn’t want to show her up and break them out this time, but next time for sure!
