I’ve always been a little scrappy from the very beginning. It all started with the wrestling matches I shared with my best friend Trooper.
Mostly I was the instigator, and boy did we love to wrestle (and still do). But for as hard as we fight…..
….we always love each other at the end of the day!

Yay, it’s finally here! Valentine’s Day!
Today is the day to share your love with those you care about (although you should make it a point to do that every day!).
I’ve always thought Valentine’s Day is great, especially when you’re wearing rose colored glasses!
I can see things so much clearly now…..
….like how especially good looking you are! *wink* *wink*

Valentine’s Day is almost here, so with a little help from my mom I whipped up this happy heart DIY to help you spread some love any day of the year!
DIY – Dog Collar Heart Accessory
This simple DIY can be made with a few items that you can likely find laying around your house.
What you need:
Step 1: Using a sharpie draw two small heart shapes onto your fabric. You may want to draw one on a plain piece of printer paper first and cut it out to use as a stencil.
Step 2: Cut both hearts out of your fabric.
Step 3: If you are using a plain piece of fabric then you may want to add a little Bling. By using the eraser end of your pencil you can stamp some dots of gold metallic paint onto your fabric hearts.
Step 4: Next measure the width of your dog collar, add about an inch, and cut this length out of your elastic. Once your paint is dry on your hearts you will want to sew a piece of looped elastic to the painted side with a needle and thread.
Step 5: Place your heart cutouts on top of each other (paint side up) and begin to stitch the two together using a piece of embroidery floss (or regular thread if that’s all you have). Stop stitching when you are about 3/4 of the way around.
Step 6: Stuff your heart with cotton filler (or any other stuffing you would like to use) and then stitch your heart the rest of the way shut.
Your heart collar accessory is now complete, and you can slip it onto your dog’s collar.
I don’t know about you, but I think it totally says I LOVE YOU!
If you decide not to add paint to your happy little heart, you may want to use a fun fabric instead – just like the one my mom made below.

Now that the winter weather is here, it’s time for me to really start bundling up in my layers, especially on the farm. One of the things that always plagues me is that I not only end up layering multiple coats to stay warm, but I also have to fit in a harness somewhere too.

In keeping with my goals for the 13 Project I have been collecting unwanted towels and blankets for the past few months. So this past weekend I decided I finally had a big box filled enough to make a trip to my local SPCA.
I was excited to lend a helping paw and put my old towels to good use by giving them to animals that could use them more than me. I knew they would love them because I personally tested each and every one for optimal softness.
So we loaded up the car and headed to the Chester County SPCA. I had to wait in the car while Mom and Dad took my donation inside, but when they returned they shared with me some of the pets that were looking forever homes at the SPCA.
Duke is a super lovable family dog who is 4 years old. He loves all people and kids and is already housebroken. If you want someone to play fetch with, then this is the boy for you!
This sweet girl Ginger, a terrier mix, was Mom and Dad’s favorite. She had the cutest little face and silly little ears that stood straight up. She is about 1-3 years old and was found as a stray.

Mom said she wished we could have brought all of the puppies looking for families home with us, but since that’s just not possible for us we hope that by donating towels and blankets we can do our part to help in some way. Even if it’s just a small thing.
So who else is with me in helping the shelters? There is always something you can do to help; adopt a dog, donate old blankets & towels, share adoptable pets with your friends and family – I know you can do it! We can all be heroes for the animals just looking for a little love.
Trooper and I were hanging out on the farm this morning because the Timber Frame has arrived for the new farmhouse.
The Timbers arrived on the truck to be used in the construction of Trooper’s new post and beam house being built on the farm.
My initial inspection earned a paws up review from me – and I told the boys to start loading up the crane!
After the crane piled all the timbers into the new house, Trooper and I were anxious to see how they would put them together.
We watched from afar for a bit, but eventually we just couldn’t wait any longer to get our paws dirty too.
So Trooper convinced his mom and dad that we would promise to be safe if they let us get a little closer to see just how a post and beam house is constructed.
As you can imagine, Trooper was very excited!
I was enthralled with watching the construction workers help the crane lower the beams into the house.
But the very best part – getting to watch Trooper’s Dad pound some of the very first pegs into the timber frame.
It was a VERY exciting day, and Trooper even got to keep a souvenir of the day! Lucky!
