Puddles

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE puddles.

They’re perfect for little boys like me that love the water, but don’t really like to swim.

And they always seem to have just the right amount of mud!

Ploppity, Plop, Plop, Plop. That’s what it sounds like when I walk in puddles.

I’d live in this puddle if I could.

Now if I could just find mom’s keys!

Farm Boy

This is me.

I’m a farm boy.

Follow me and I’ll show you around my farm.

Now you can see why I LOVE being a farm boy!

Growing Up

Today is my best friend’s Birthday. Can you believe it, Trooper is turning 4!! They grow up so fast. I didn’t know Trooper when he was just a baby (we met when Trooper was 1), but mom says that he grew up at her shop just like I did!

Yeah, he was pretty cute back then huh?

But then Trooper grew up (don’t worry Troop, I still think you’re cute), and I came along….

And now we get to spend all of our Birthday’s Together. Sappy but true.

Happy Birthday Pal! Looking forward to spending many more together.

Gone Tanning

Yes, that’s me all sprawled out in my yard. Don’t worry though, I’m not in distress….no, I’m just working on my tan!

It’s called the weenie roast – and I’m pretty much an expert at it.

Yesterday I did a whole lot of “baking”, in preparation for the big party!

Because today is my dad’s Birthday! Happy Birthday!

Here’s me playing a game of washers with my dad and his friends at the party! It was so much fun.

Now I’m off to wrap my dad’s present. I can’t wait to give it to him! Hopefully he’ll let me help unwrap, since I’m such an expert at opening presents. Yipee.

Sounds of the Farm

You might think that the farm is a peaceful and quiet place, but the truth is, it can be quite noisy at times! Birds chirping, horses’ banging buckets, and we can’t forget Spider Kitty calling for her big brother Ammo to come out and play.

But, no matter what, the farm is my favoritiest place to be. And noise or no noise, I wouldn’t change a thing!

Training Super Trooper

I might have worked my poor friend Trooper to near exhaustion.

The horses talked it over and agree, that’s one tired pooch!

But honestly, how does Trooper think he’s going to earn his cape if he doesn’t practice? And practice hard!

I admit, I’m a pretty tough trainer.

And sometimes, Trooper just needs someone to show him what to do…..

Yeah I know I’m so amazing. But, lets just hope I whip Trooper into shape before his big performance!

Cat in the Hat

Sometimes we wrestle. Sometimes we go hunting. Sometimes we sunbathe. And other times…….we like to wear silly hats together.

This is Spider – and she would like to be a painter too. So I let her borrow my beret.

Sometimes I have trouble sharing. Don’t tell my mom.

DIY $5 Rope Dog Leash

So mom noticed lately that I’ve been ooh and ahhing over this trendy rope leash from Mungo & Maud. And while I’ll always think it’s super stylin’ – $110 for a new leash for me just wasn’t in the budget.

Instead, on a recent trip to a tack shop in Delaware – mom came up with a plan to make me my very own Rope Leash. For $5!

D.I.Y. $5 Rope Dog Leash

Supplies: cotton horse lead rope, hammer, rope clamp

Step One: You will need to obtain a cotton horse leadrope. I got mine at a horse tack shop for $3. You can also get them online* and at most tack supply places. Or check your local horse supply store.

Step Two: You will need to buy a clamp to make the end of your rope into a handle. I bought a package of two (you know, incase I need a rope leash for my best pal Trooper) for $4.39 (about $2 for each one) at the local hardware store. Most hardware stores should carry them in the rope section, and you can find them online*.

Step 3: Figure out how big of a handle you want at the other end and adjust your rope into the clamp accordingly. It also helps to have a cute little dachshund around for supervision.

Step 4: You will need the help of your dad to hammer the clamp shut around the rope.

Then Tada! You are ready for your next walk in your stylish dog leash!

If you don’t have access to a horse lead rope, you can also use any cotton rope. You will just need too metal rope clamps and a snap for the end – all supplies can be found at the local hardware store.

Yeah, you know you want to beg your mom or dad to make you one of these bad boys!

I think I need one of these in every color! Almost as good as the real thing…..
