Napping at Work

Luckily for me my boss allows me to take naps while on the job. One of the many perks. (I also get belly rubs and snacks for free- it’s in my contract).

However, napping on the job can sometimes be an art. Sometimes getting comfy requires a little creativity. So today I’m going to share with you my helpful guide for getting your snooze on at work. (Use with caution – or at least when your boss isn’t looking)

This one I call the “watchful eye”, useful when wanting to nap, but still keep an eye out. You know, in case something important might happen.

This is the “Sneaky Snake”. Very handy around corners and tight spaces – not recommended for “non-hot-dog-shaped bodies”.

The “leg cross” is a favorite of mine.  Gives you an extra boost of luck. One can never be too lucky.

The “dog-bed crash” is always a good one. Always make sure to do a little “fluffing” first.

“Blankie Necktie” is great for when it’s a bit chilly out. Just don’t wrap up too tightly, you won’t be able to get out in case of fire.

The “crescent roll” is prefect for a busy day at the office. You’re free of cumbersome blankets, but still able to keep your legs nice and toasty.

Shoot. How did this photo end up in here? Pay no attention to this. Seriously. It was just an itch on my leg. I swear!

“The Cave” is the best. Dark enough for hibernation but not too dark that you miss a meal.

“Sunbathing” – definitely a must if you are looking a little pasty. Also perfect on a cold day, just don’t “bake” for too long. No one likes an overcooked hot dog.

And last but not least we have the “Hot Dog in a Blanket”. Why re-invent the wheel, classics never die.

If anyone catches me napping at work please know this. No. 1 If you have cookies and don’t wake me up for some I WILL hold a grudge. No. 2 Please don’t come to my place of work without cookies, I WILL hold a grudge. That is all.

xoxo

Buried Treasure

I’m telling you guys, there is a buried treasure in the closet at work. No one believes me….. but really….it’s there! Ever since I started digging for it in the closet mom decided to barricade me out.

She’s really gonna regret not letting me in there when she finds out about all the treasure and golden coins she’s missing out on!

Sigh.

I wonder how hard it would be to tunnel under?

Spring

I really like Spring. Mostly because it means the door to the Sunroom gets opened. Which means I get to bask in the glorious sun….

Trust me, once mr. sunshine gets going this place heats up like a sauna. It’s glorious!

The sunroom is so amazing, because not only do I have a place to get my tan on (complete with comfy couches), but should the need arise – I have my own person door to my outside kingdom.

As you can see I use my little door it it’s full advantage. It’s very convenient for bringing in sticks and apples from my apple tree should I decide I want a snack later.

What more can a dog ask for?

Attention Shoppers

Attention shoppers….will someone please tell me why none of these dog toys seem to have squeakers inside? I thought the squeaker was a staple in dog toys?

Where’s the stuffing I can rip out, or the bones I can gnaw on?

I’m starting to regret saying I’d come on this shopping trip.

Mom, Dad, if you are reading this….I do not appreciate random trips to the store, when all we come back with is a very large piece of wood. Seriously. I could have been napping somewhere or chasing Leprechauns on the farm with Trooper. I am not amused. Try harder next time.

Friday Fetch: Vintage Inspired Bowls

Today’s Friday Fetch comes from Ancient Industries. They are noted purveyors of traditional household goods and clothing. They travel to various destinations around the British Isles, Europe and America, looking for useful objects that have been in production for decades, centuries, and millenia. And lucky for us they are also purveyors of pet goodies!

These bauer pottery dog bowls are bright and fun…just like me! Created in Los Angeles in the 1930s, the colours of Bauer Pottery were inspired by the orange grove, the palm tree, and the sky. I’d like one in every color please!

$30 each at Ancient Industries

And if you happen to be of the feline variety, they also carry cat bowls.

America’s Cutest Cats

I admit, it took me WAY too long to post this video. Most of my facebook fans know that back in 2010 I made a little cameo appearance on Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Cats with my farm pal, Cricket. Just a short clip of a good old wrestling match between me and my gal which they noticed on Youtube and requested to use. Check it out:

You might remember that I was also on Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Dogs with my favorite pony, Minnow!

This makes me sorta like a Reality TV Star then right? It’s only a matter of time before I have my own show – you better get your autographs now, before I’m swamped with paparazzi!

Life on the Farm

Simple snapshots of life on the farm.

It’s quite simply my favorite place to be. Where’s your favorite place?

Happy Day o’ Digging

Digging Digging Digging.

Oh Happy Day. Digging Digging Digging.

Yet I get the feeling I’m not alone on this happy day of digging.

Hey Spider! I see you in there!

There’s no use hiding I can see you.

I knew you were spying on me!

Well if you’re gonna follow me, you might as well put those paws to some good use and help me DIG!

Elevator Up Please

For me, an elevator ride usually means one thing……we’re visiting great-grandma!

Over the weekend me and Trooper took a trip to visit my great-grandma.

Trooper’s favorite part about our visits is greeting all the residents at the nursing home (and the nurses). Here we are waiting for someone to say hi to.

My favorite part is getting the “scraps” that are inevitably left EVERYWHERE!

It’s like they knew I was coming and set out a special treat just for me. Mmmmmm….cheese….

Friday Fetch: Pup-Pie

Pie. That word makes my stomach growl. With flavors like Banana Nut Brownie, Deep Dish Pizza, and Carob Peanut Butter – how can you not LONG for a Pup-Pie from The Lazy Dog Cookie Company?

All of their treat recipes are licensed, independently tested, and veterinarian approved. And they claim to carry the healthiest of any decorated style treat available on the market.

Can you say Yum? I know what cake I’m asking for come October when I turn 3!
