12 Days of Cheer! DIY Christmas Eve Outfit for your Dog

Yippee, it’s Christmas Eve! If you’re anything like me you are getting out your best Holiday Outfit to wear to all of the upcoming Holiday parties and festivities.

This year I decided to whip up some special festive wear – a simple DIY to make you look oh-so-spiffy this Christmas.

DIY Christmas Eve Outfit for Dogs

Materials:

Clip-on Tie or bowtie* (I got mine from goodwill)
White Collared Shirt* (I also got this from goodwill)
Velcro
Scissors
Hot Glue

Step 1: Cut just the collar off of the shirt.

Step 2: Cut the collar in half at the back of it.

Step 3: Glue velcro to the back of the collar, you may need to measure your dog’s neck to see where to position the velcro.

Step 4: Take your clip-on tie and shorten the length of the tie to an appropriate length for your dog by pushing the excess fabric up and through the knot of the tie.

Step 5: Cut off the excess tie fabric at the top, leaving enough that you can glue it later.

Step 6: Hot glue the ends of your tie back into place.

Step 7: Clip the tie onto the collar and you’re ready for a festive night!

I must admit, my festive Holiday outfit makes me so ridiculously good looking! Not the DIY type? Don’t worry, you can snag a festive pre-made bowtie for your pup* for any occasion!

An Acme Halloween

After much anticipation I’m now ready to reveal my epic Halloween Costume! Many of you took guesses on my facebook page as to what I would be wearing this year – and some of you even guessed right!

This year I dressed as the famous Wile E. Coyote from the popular Looney Toons Cartoon!

I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to chase that speedy Roadrunner, not to mention Wile E. Coyote had some pretty cool accessories via the Acme Catalog. The dude knew how to shop!

Mom helped me make a coyote hood for my costume out of fabric, wire, velcro, and hot glue – and yes, I am aware that it makes me look irresistibly cute! You’re welcome.

My Acme rocket may have not been from the official “Acme Catalog”, but mom did her best to build it’s likeness out of an old soda bottle, some cereal boxes, paint, elastic & rope.

So with my outfit complete I was ready to start hunting that roadrunner!

I was sooo close, but that darn Acme Rocket malfunctioned and he got away.

Birthday Week: Ammo turns Four!

Today is my Birthday! Hooray!

In the past four years I have been on so many adventures! From riding in airplanes, paddleboarding, performing with the Painting Ponies, painting pictures, and just lounging around the house – each day has been an amazing ride.

I’m looking forward to many more years of adventures – and I can’t wait to share them with all of you!

There are still so many things I have yet to do and see, and a World that is just begging to be sniffed by me!

So excuse me if I spend today shouting Hooray! a whole bunch of times, I’m just uber excited to be turning four – and I can’t wait to tear into my presents tonight.

Three cheers for me!

Now here’s to hoping I can stay awake for my party – being an adventurer is super exhausting!

Backyard Super Hero

I was playing with my next door neighbor, Harley the Rottweiler, when I happened to mention that I’m a Super Hero. She laughed and said “That’s silly Ammo, you don’t even have a Super Hero outfit”.

So I quickly bounded inside to show her that yes, in fact I do have a Super Hero outfit, and it is so awesome she won’t believe her eyes!

I can burrow down a groundhog hole as fast and lightning and my paws are like rocket-powered shovels.

Glamour Shots

Seeing as how I’m now a movie star with my recent Painting Pony Video Debut (not to mention I’ve been on Animal Planet too), I figured it was high time I did what every celebrity does…….GET GLAMOUR SHOTS!

So I went to my favorite portrait studio, Glamour Shots by Mom, and let the camera do it’s magic.

The camera loves me, don’t you think? I’m GLORIOUS!

Next time I’ll have to get my majestic unicorn to join in on the fun. It will be epic.

Super Heroes Unite – Chincoteague Pony Minnow gets ready for Pony Penning

My stay-cation last week may have you thinking that all I did was go paddleboarding and flying, but this super dog never gets to relax completely – and I had to mix in a little bit of work too (if you can call it that).

My bestest pony friend Minnow the Painting Pony and I got our photoshoot on and took some promotional photos for this year’s Chincoteague Pony Penning held at the end of July.

Each year my friend Minnow (aka Super Minnow) travels to Chincoteague Island, Virginia to perform for a week during the annual Chincoteague Pony Swim and Auction.

Not only does he paint original art during his stay on the island, but he also gets to show off some of his amazing tricks by performing a skit during the nightly shows at the Chincoteague Pony Centre.

Mom and I work very hard for months in advance to help Minnow learn a new performance each year before pony penning – and I think this year’s performance is one of the best yet!

This year Minnow is going to Super Hero Bootcamp – and as you can see by his rolly polly belly that he certainly was in need of a bootcamp!

The only way to see Minnow’s new performance is to visit him on the island at the end of July, but since I knew not everyone would make it I talked mom into having a new DVD made of the performance that will be available for purchase hopefully next month. (meanwhile you can check out Minnow’s other DVD featuring yours truly HERE).

I’m a bit jealous that I won’t be able to watch Minnow’s performance live either, as dogs aren’t allowed many places on the island and I have to stay home with Dad, so I’ll just have to wish him luck from afar.

Easter Bunny Disguise

Last year I had to improvise with my Easter Bunny Disguise so that Mr. Bunny himself wouldn’t skip over my house (on account of all the backyard bunny chasing I had been doing).

Fast forward a year later, and despite my best efforts, I still can’t stop chasing those bunnies in the back yard….it’s just way too fun. So I decided to get official with my bunny disguise this year.

St. Patrick’s Day – Breaking out the Green

I know technically it isn’t St. Patrick’s Day yet, and I’m really not Irish (although I do have pretty red hair), but I just couldn’t wait any longer to break out my green!

Remember last year when I came soooo close to getting my paws on some of the Leprechaun gold?

Well, this year I decided instead of hunting down the Leprechaun “den”, I’d let them come to me.

I have a feeling those Leprechauns know how to party! And maybe, just maybe, they’ll come party with me at my house.

The Super Hero Code

Being a Super Hero means many different things. Not only do you have duties to uphold, but you also have to live by the Super Hero Code. And since you are my friends, I’m going to share with you the super top-secret Super Hero Code. Which means this is on a need-to know basis….and I better not find it all over Facebook! *wink*

Ammo’s Super Hero Code

1. You have to look extra dashing in your Super Hero cape (spandex tights are optional – as not everyone can pull those off).

2. You have to have a charming smile that makes everyone instantly fall in love with you. (This one’s for the ladies).

3. You need to be able to bark in the face of danger (growling can be substituted if need be), because Super Heroes can’t be weenies.

4. Your greatest weapon is your nose, and a great Super Hero can smell friend or foe from a mile away.

5. You need to have bulging muscles and the ability to think on your toes.

6. You have to be smart and courageous or at least hide the fact that you like to snuggle under the covers with your mom at night.
