Hide and Seek

Me and Cricket are playing Hide and Seek today on the farm. Will you help me find her?

She’s quite the crafty hider and sometimes I spend all day hunting for her around farm.

I thought I smelled her over by one of the ponies obstacles in the arena.

And I knew I heard a noise underneath the tarp.

But, when I peeked inside I saw nothing but darkness.

I was about to give up and move on to another hiding spot, when I thought I saw her little black tail poking out from under the tarp.

And just when I was about to tag her “it”, I thought I saw a groundhog out of the corner of my eye…..and she got away! That Cricket, she sure is tricky!

 

Agility with Cows

Ok, so maybe I didn’t EXACTLY do agility with the cows, but they certainly did interrupt my first attempt at a dog agility course. Over the weekend while I was hanging out at the Chadds Ford Days event, me and my pal Trooper got to test out a dog agility course. Neither of us have done a course before, although I had had a basic intro to agility class last winter. But, this was the first time I got to do the tunnel, or any of the jumps, and I had never been on a balance board before. I actually really enjoyed it!

Doesn’t it look like fun! Mom says maybe this winter I can take some more agility classes, and I can’t wait! Trooper even got a chance to try it himself.

Go Trooper! Although he probably would have done even better had he been wearing his Super Cape like I was! Doesn’t he know it’s all in the wardrobe?

When nasty Hurricane Irene came blowing through my town a few weeks ago it was lights out at my house for a little while. And when I posted a picture of me playing board games in the dark on my facebook page, my pals over at Glowdoggie decided to help a pal out!

So, when my Glowdoggie LED collar arrived a few weeks later, I did what any dog with a super cool new waterproof led light-up safety collar would do….

…Fashion Show!

Sorry, I know, that was kinda girly of me – so to redeem myself I made sure to also take some photos in my rough and tumble lifestyle. (aka the farm). And just because I enjoy a good fashion show doesn’t make me any less of a farm dog!

I have to admit, I look pretty dashing in red, and this thing is just MEANT for adventurous dogs like me!

Mom says that since the sun will be setting sooner I’m going to have to wear my glowdoggie collar every evening out on the farm to keep me safe.

Did you know that the Glowdoggie collar is German engineered? Which pretty much means it was totally designed for me, you know, because Dachshunds are German.

So far I was digging my new Glowdoggie collar, but there was really only one way to put it to the test.

I had to take it down a groundhog hole!!

Now that I have a light to show me the way I am a much more efficient digger.

And those groundhogs are gonna have no idea what hit them!

Wild Ride

Holy Cannoli! Boy did I have a busy weekend!

This picture of me and Trooper pretty much sums up the adventurous weekend I had. Don’t worry, I didn’t actually have to ride a bull, but I did have to entertain lots of children (and adults), sniff a whole bunch of dog butts, eat funnel cake, and I even ran through an agility course…twice!

As you can see, I’m a pretty hard working Dachshund.

Dog Days of Summer

Hey Pals! Today and tomorrow I’m hanging out at the Chadd’s Ford Historical Society Dog Days of Summer II event! From 10am – 5pm I’ll be mixing and mingling with all my friends (and doing a few tricks too with my pal Minnow the Painting Pony).

Goat Monster

On a recent trip to Highland Orchards I met some dogs goats monsters.

Mom reminded me that I have met goats before when I went to the corn maze last year.

True, maybe I had seen goats before, but these were not the SAME goats.

I know, because I sniffed them.

I mean they smelled friendly enough I guess.

But friendly or not, I quickly realized there was like a bazillion of them….and only one of me. Yikes!

I may have spent the rest of the day looking over my shoulder – you never know when a group of goats monsters might sneak up behind you!

Ludwigs Day 2

I’ll admit, after Day 1 at the Ludwigs Corner Horse Show I was a little tired. It’s hard being adorable all the time.

But, mom brought out the big guns (aka chicken) and I was more than happy to show everyone my favorite tricks!

Not trying to brag, but no one plays dead like I do!

Minnow drew a crowd too with his amazing painting skills……but really…..I stole the show!

In fact, I got so much love after my performances that I think Minnow was jealous!

When I got back to the farm I took a well deserved nap. Which actually ended up being pretty short lived…

Ludwigs Day 1

I spent my Labor Day weekend hanging out with my good pal, Minnow the Painting Pony at the Ludwigs Corner Horse Show. Our Mission – to make all the BIG & LITTLE kids laugh and giggle.

I’m not gonna lie, Minnow did most of the work on the first day. Not that I didn’t help – I just used my skills in a different way.

I used my stunning good looks and overall cuteness to attract a crowd.

You see, I’m utterly irresistible when I wear my stunt helmet.

After I drew in the crowd it was up to Minnow to entertain everyone with his amazing painting skills and super awesome tricks. I jumped in here and there with some of my awesome stunts – but I really got into the swing of things on Day 2, which you’ll hear all about tomorrow!

I bet you’re wondering what kind of adventures I’m up to today!

Since you asked so politely, I’ll tell you. I’m busy packing, because me and Minnow the Painting Pony are headed to an event this weekend.

We’re going to have a booth at the Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show on Saturday AND Sunday! Minnow & I are going to be doing tricks all day long, and we’re both bringing some of our famous paintings that will be available to purchase. I’m even bringing my Christmas cards!

You can catch us on Saturday from 10 – 2pm (Minnow will do a special painting at 11am, 12pm, and 1pm) and on Sunday from 11 – 4pm (Minnow will do a special painting at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm).

We hope you’ll be able to make it, so I can meet all my friends in person!
