I had a wonderful group of entries in our K9 Carfence Giveaway, and I loved hearing about all the fun places everyone travels with their dogs. And more importantly I loved hearing how interested everyone was in keeping their pets safe!
Sadly we can choose only one winner this time, and our winner is:
Who says: My furry babies love walking the trails at a local park. They love it so much, in fact, that they can hardly contain themselves in the backseat. So this would be perfect!
But even if you didn’t win this time, you won’t have to go home empty handed! The wonderful people at K9Carfence would like to extend a special promotional price of $88 on their K9Carfence (plus shipping and sales tax where applicable) — this is a $21 savings off normal price of $109.
To get this special promotion price, simply send them an email at safe@k9carfence.com with the subject being the Ammo Special Price to get a K9 CarFence for $88. This offer will expire January 31, 2013 so act now!

You might remember that a couple of months ago I featured a new product I had seen at an event called the K9Carfence, an in-car safety fence designed for small dogs.
Well recently the K9Carfence company offered me up a chance to take their product for a test drive.
At first I was a bit worried that I might have to give up the booster seat that I have been riding in since I was just a wee pup, but I was relieved to hear that my booster could easily fit inside the K9Carfence system.
The K9Carfence easily attaches to any front or back seat of a car (I personally prefer to ride in the back seat) to keep your dog protected and secure while riding in the car.
And while I prefer to put my booster seat inside the K9Carfence, you do have the option to simply let your dog move freely within the space. This would be great for dogs that don’t like to be confined while in the car, and still want to be able to look out of the window or easily change positions.
Should you need to take down the K9Carfence for any non-furry passengers, it easily unsnaps and can be pushed underneath a seat, leaving the seat protector in place and the seat belts still fully functional.
Or if you prefer, with a few more easy steps you can roll the entire K9Carfence into a neat little travel bag making it easy to transport into another vehicle or to stow away until you need it again.
Here’s a short video I shot while taking the K9Carfence for a test ride:
As you can see adjusting to the K9Carfence wasn’t even an issue for me, and although I didn’t test it out in any sudden stops (mom says she’s a very good driver and has a zero accident record – and I’m hoping she keeps it that way), it does seem like it would prevent me from flying around the car should we ever have an accident. And one can never be too safe when the lives of cute little Dachshunds are at stake!
Catches and cradles dogs in a soft strong net in case of sudden stops
Fast, easy, no-tools set up
Keeps your pet visible to you at all times with the see-through mesh
Keeps pets in a safe confined area and out from under car pedals or laps which can easily distract a driver
Can accommodate multiple dogs within one K9Carfence
Easy to fold up and move to another vehicle
We should all be able to agree that allowing your dog to roam freely in the car while you are driving is not very safe, for you or your pet. With the K9Carfence you can still allow your dog that freedom in the car, while keeping them safe at the same time.
So now it’s your chance to win your very own K9Carfence!
Here’s how to win…

Today is the last day of my 12 Days of Cheer! And it is also Christmas Day! Hooray!
I hope you’ve enjoyed celebrating the season with my 12 Days of Cheer – and just for fun, let’s take a look back at all the fun we’ve had these past few days.
So on our final and last day of the 12 Days of Cheer I wanted to wish all of my friends and family a very Merry Christmas!
I’m now off to visit with my family and spread my Christmas Cheer while wearing my most awesome Christmas Outfit. When you’re this good looking it’s pretty easy to leave some cheer behind everywhere you go!
One of my favorite things about the holidays is decorating the house with lots of Christmas Cheer! So this year my mom decided to help me make some festive ornaments to hang on my tree. These DIY Holiday Dog Ornaments will add a little WOOF to any home!
Step 1: After choosing photos of your pet to use (it helps if they have a white background) print them out on your iron-on transfer paper. Follow the directions on the package for printing, and remember to mirror your image.
Step 2: Cut your images out of the print-out.
Step 3: Iron on your images to your white fabric, making sure you follow the directions on your iron-on transfer paper package.
Step 4: Cut each image out of your fabric, making sure to leave at least a 1 inch space around each image. By using something as a template you can also cut them out in the shape of a circle, which will be easier to sew down the line.
Step 5: Next you will want to cut shapes out of your colorful Christmas fabric that are the same size as the images. These will serve as the backing for your ornament.
Step 6: Using the baker’s twine you’ll want to cut a small piece and tie it into a bow. Then with your needle and thread stitch your bow onto the image transfer of your pet.
Step 7: Then you will want to sew your ornament together. Place your colored fabric ONTOP of your image and then using your sewing machine (or by hand) stitch nearly all the way around your ornament, leaving about a 1/2 an inch of the fabric un-sewn.
Step 8: Flip your sewn ornament inside out so that now the image is on the outside. Then stuff with cotton.
Step 9: Cut a piece of bakers twine to be used to hang your ornament and knot it into a loop. Then using a needle and thread stitch the top of your ornament (and the loop) closed.
Step 10: Marvel in your diy-ness and enjoy your new ornaments!
I’m thoroughly enjoying my new ornaments, and I think they’re super cute !
I bet you can guess which one’s my favorite!
*The photos used for my ornaments were from the lovely Brenda Carpenter & The Mutt Room!
Straight from me to you, here’s a little something to put you in the Holiday mood! A free downloadable desktop wallpaper for your computer (or iPad/iphone), just what you needed while you wait for Santa to shimmy down your chimney.
It’s no secret that I’m a lover of art and design, so when I stumbled across Architecture for Dogs I was mesmerized.
From Architecture for Dogs:
Architecture for Dogs, invented by architects and designers, is an extremely sincere collection of architecture and a new medium, which make dogs and their people happy. Dogs are people’s partners, living right beside them, but they are also animals that humans, through crossbreeding, have created in multitudes of breeds. Reexamining these close partners with fresh eyes may be a chance to reexamine both human beings themselves and the natural environment.
Each of their 13 designs are available for download in a blueprint format so that you can build the projects yourself.
The Architecture for Dogs Exhibition opens to the public on December 6, 2012 in the Miami Design District. For more information check out their website.
Each design is crafted with the dog in mind. For instance, a hammock for Jack Russell Terriers isn’t just a hammock; it’s a hammock stretched from the owner’s clothing, meaning the dog can appreciate their smell while resting.
You can download the Architectures for Dogs designs right HERE!
