I like to think I’m a pretty smart guy, so when I came across a line of Interactive Dog Toys from Trixie (sold online only at Petsmart) it had me wondering if they could really stump me.

Designed to test your dog’s intelligence and keep them thinking, these line of Interactive Dog Toys look like so much fun! With levers, nobs and hidden flaps the goal is to find the hidden treats by completing tasks that get your dog thinking. Each toy is rated by difficulty from Level 1 (the easiest) through Level 3. This is one product that is definitely on my wish list!

Friday Fetch: DIY Healthy Sweet Potato Treats for your Dog

I’ve been posting a lot this week about the new Polka Dog Line at Target, and I couldn’t help but squeeze one more post in about them this Friday – because I found the icing to my cupcake!

Via the A Bullseye View Blog I found a DIY recipe for Healthy Sweet Potato Treats for your furry friend. And never one to pass up a good cookie recipe I wanted to share it with everyone! Not to mention this is super easy to make and only requires two ingredients – the perfect start to your weekend for you and your dog.

Sweet Pawtato Chips
Makes 32-42 treats

Made from sweet potatoes (loaded with vitamin C, potassium and fiber) soaked in chicken broth, these thinly sliced treats are a healthy snack solution.

What You Need:
2 medium sweet potatoes
Chicken broth

What You’ll Do:
1. Preheat oven to 400 F.

2. Wash and Scrub Sweet Potatoes. Slice 1/8” thick with a mandolin or sharp knife.

3. Place in small bowl and cover with chicken broth. Let soak for 1/2 hour.

4. Take slices out of bowl and place on parchment lined sheet pans.

5. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

6. Remove from oven, and allow to cool.

I loves me some rope toys! So when I stumbled across this rope dog toy collection from Jax and Bones I found myself adding each and every one to my wish list. Especially the pony, I love ponies.

Friday Fetch: Dining with Dogs

I like dining out just as much as my Mom and Dad, but finding restaurants that are dog friendly can sometimes be a bit tricky. So when I stumbled across the Dining with Dogs website the other day, I thought it was a great resource for pooches that hate to be left out on dinner dates.

Dining with Dogs features reviews of restaurants that allow dogs to dine in their outdoor eating areas. Currently they only have reviews in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, and New York – but anyone can submit a review of a restaurant in your own area.

Sadly there weren’t any listed in my home state of Pennsylvania, but I fixed that by submitting a review of one of my favorite restaurants to dine at, the Four Dogs Tavern in West Chester, PA. (It’s also were I first met Annie, the motorcycle mama) Hopefully it will be up on the site soon!
