I’ve been celebrating the 12 Days of Cheer for several years now, and each year I like to come up with some fun and festive DIY projects that involve your 4-legged friends. And while I still have some fun new ones to share this year, I thought it would be fun to round up some of the ones I’ve done over the years.
So here’s a few of my festive Christmas DIY Dog Projects:
Strapped on time? Make this simple and fun DIY prize ball for your dog with things you have laying around your house!
This year I decided to do my own rendition of the classic Christmas song, Jingle Bells.
Why don’t you sing along with me,
Dashing through the snow
In a one-dog wooden sled
O’er the fields we go
Barking all the way
Bells on collars ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and bark
At all the neighbors tonight!
Happy Holidays!
Now I’m sure you probably think I’m a total pro behind the camera (which yea, I sort of am), but it actually takes me quite a few tries to get that one perfect shot for my holiday card every year. And as I’m sure every super model has outtakes just like me, I thought it would be fun to share a few of mine….
And lets just say there is dozens more where that came from. So as you can see creating my spectacularly cheery holiday card each year is no easy task – it’s an art I tell you! An art that I’m still perfecting even after 6 years of “modeling”.
So if you’d like to shop my spectacular awesome holiday card you can check it out in my online shop – it comes in singles and 8 card sets for all your happy mail sending needs!
Thanksgiving may have been last week, but that doesn’t mean I’ve recovered from it just yet! Here’s just how I celebrated this year…
I kicked off my Thanksgiving with a trip to the farm – and as you can see I had snow on Turkey Day!
As lovely as I find the snow, I was thankful that Trooper’s new house has heat – because I was looking forward to being warm!
Trooper spent most of the Thanksgiving morning doing this – I suspect he just didn’t want to share his new Puller toys with me….but that’s ok, I’m still thankful for my best friend – even if he doesn’t like to share!
Eventually Trooper stepped away from his Puller hoarding to share some Canidae cookies with me, YUM!
And I had an obligatory Thanksgiving potty break. 🙂
Now even though we didn’t have a Thanksgiving meal at Trooper’s new house (as there is still lots of construction to be done), that didn’t stop me from hanging around in the kitchen.
Because regardless of wether there is food or not, the kitchen is where you’re supposed to be on Thanksgiving day!
Before I knew it though it was time to wave goodbye to my ponies and head off on my next Thanksgiving adventure.
At Mom Mom & Pop Pop’s house I started where I had left off at the farm….hanging around the kitchen.
Only this time there was an actual turkey!
Thanksgiving should be renamed “Torture Dogs with a Big Plate of Meat Day”, because it is TORTURE!
And even though I didn’t get to have more than a bite or two of turkey, I did get to enjoy my own feast complete with doggie stew that came with my Barkbox this month!
It comes at no surprise that my post turkey day self looked like this. But boy was it a good day with my family!
P.S. Don’t forget there is still time to order one of my Adventure Awaits T-shirts for Christmas and to benefit the Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue! Hurry before it’s too late!
Disclosure: This review and giveaway is brought to you by Puller.
Recently I got the chance to test a product for dogs that is designed to promote physical exercise.
Puller is a training device made up of two foam rings that encourages physical exercise, helps dogs to relieve stress, and improves overall physical shape and muscle development.
Now I like to think I keep a pretty sleek figure myself, but there is always ways to improve!
Puller claims that with 3 simple exercises for 20 minutes a day your dog can get the equivalent of a 2 mile intensive run or 2 hours of exhausting exercise (like playing fetch).
So Trooper and I decided to take Puller out to the farm for a little exercise.
The 3 exercises that Puller promotes is running, jumping, and pulling.
Trooper and I both enjoyed getting in some physical activity with Puller. We also hear the Puller floats (although we haven’t had a chance to test it), and it’s foam material is nice and soft on our teeth.
And it’s because of the foam material that Puller is not designed to be a toy you leave for your dog to play with on their own, but a device to help you keep your pup fit and active with you.
So to get some inspiration for our next workout, Trooper and I checked out this Puller video with TreT….
After watching that Trooper and I figured, hey, we can do that….so we shot our own Puller video…
Yeah, I think we might need a little more practice before we’re as coordinated with Puller as TreT – but at least we got a good workout trying.
Well, despite our lack of coordination, Trooper and I agree that Puller is a fun device to get us excited about “working out”. Trooper especially got very excited when he saw Puller come out. I preferred to play with my Puller in my basement at home with mom and dad – it’s always been my “workout” room where I spend a lot of time in the winter burning calories and getting some physical exercise in when it’s too cold outside.
So if you want to get your best friend some exercise too, you can fetch your own Puller in standard or mini size from Collar and also on Amazon.

A couple of months ago Trooper and I got the opportunity to have a little fashion show with the new Martha Stewart Fall Pet Line, available at Petsmart.
The end result landed a photo of me on MarthaStewart.com – pretty exciting!
The fact is though, mom took so many fun photos of Trooper and I enjoying our new Martha Stewart products – that we had to share all the others that didn’t make the cut!
Especially since they are the PERFECT thing to put everyone in the Halloweenie mood!
Honestly, what’s more Halloweenie than a dachshund dressed as a pumpkin?
Well perhaps a dachshund dressed as a pumpkin in a pile of hay!
Trooper totally had his eye on the Martha Stewart toys, and I bet he was thinking he’d get to take them home with him after our little photoshoot.
Sorry Trooper, I’ll share my Halloweenie collar with you, but these toys are mine….all mine!
What sort of things are you doing this fall to get into the Halloweenie mood?
Disclosure: I received products from Martha Stewart to photograph for their website, but decided to share the fun photos on my blog as well! All opinions are my own.
Disclaimer: This product review and giveaway is brought to you by Tag Me Pet Tags.
My mom and dad take lots of steps to insure that I’m safe, one of which includes making sure that I always have on proper identification – especially when I’m on the farm.
So when Tag Me Pet Tags sent me over one of their custom etched tags I was thrilled to have a stylish and fun way to wear my id.
As you can see the front was custom etched to include my name and logo (me in my super hero cape), how fun is that!
The back of my tag was etched with two phone numbers (but it can also include an address if you choose). I don’t know about you, but I think this is such a fun and awesome way to ID your pet!
Tag Me Pet Tags has a whole line of pre-designed and etched tags for your pets, and they are also able to make custom designs (like mine) as well. Here’s a few fun ones:
They also make stamped tags as well like these:
Personally I love the etched look!
You can pick up your own fun pet tag design from Tag Me Pet Tags, and be sure to use the coupon code AMMO10 for 10% off your order!

Since tomorrow I officially turn SIX, I thought I would pop in today to give you a quick an easy DIY so that you can celebrate along with me tomorrow in style! This DIY is so simple and easy you can probably make it with items you find around your house. Here’s how…..
Supplies:
Kraft Paper (from my shop or you could even use scrap paper or newspaper)
Washi Tape (or any colorful tape)
Baker’s Twine (from my shop, or any fun ribbon/string you have laying around)
Step 1: Tear or cut a scrap of paper into a long rectangle shape and wad up into a ball. The longer and wider the paper the bigger the bowtie will be.
Step 2: Flatten out your paper and fold the two rectangle ends into the middle, overlapping at the center.
Step 3: Pinch the center where the paper overlaps and wrap some washi tape around the center to hold it into place.
Step 4: Wrap some Baker’s Twine around the center and tie leaving the ends long so that you can tie it onto your dog’s collar.
See wasn’t that easy!
Now you have no excuse not to get your dog festive for my Birthday tomorrow! Make sure you post photos of your dog celebrating on my Facebook wall!
And hopefully you’ll join in with me tomorrow as I celebrate 6 years of life (there may be some singing involved!).
I’m sure it comes at no surprise that I’ve grown a lot in the past 6 years. So I thought it would be fun to share some of my puppy photos, because really…what’s cuter than a dachshund puppy?
Mom says I’m still the little spitfire I was back then, so it’s good to hear that some things never change.
