Did you hear the news? It’s Thanksgiving Day! A day to be thankful and a day to eat turkey! That’s totally my kind of holiday.
Which is also why I came prepared with my very own turkey shoveling spoon!

What I thought was just a typical car ride for me turned into an unexpected pit stop the other day when I found myself arriving at my vet’s office.
I must admit, shots and a physical exam are never on my to-do list, but it’s a necessary evil I guess.
As friendly as the staff at my vet’s office is, I’m just never my typical happy tail wagging self. I can’t help it when my first REAL memory at the vet is being neutered!
While I was waiting for my turn in the exam room I did find a happy little surprise. My Halloween costume made the bulletin board, and it turns out I won first place for the best character costume. How cool!
When it was finally my turn to be examined I tried to put on a brave face.
Mom helped a bit by bringing along one of my favorite snacks, peanut butter. She’s been carrying it around in her pocket for weeks and using it to help me build a positive association with things I’m a little scared of. (the vet, the vacuum, etc). I have to admit, peanut butter does help make everything a little bit better!
My vet came in and examined my weight and body condition, and I had a few routine tests done before getting my annual vaccines.
I’m happy to report that I got a clean bill of health, clocking in at 18.8 pounds my vet said that I’m in perfect condition and weight for my size. My blood test even came back negative for lyme after I tested positive last year for anaplasmosis (a type of lyme). So it’s great that there was no traces of it found in my body this year.

Over the weekend the temperatures rose to a comfortable 65 degrees on the farm, which meant I found myself soaking up all the sun I could before it inevitably turns cold once again.
I ran and ran and celebrated being free!
I kept on running until Trooper came to get me to help with the farm chores. What a buzz kill!
Digging holes for fencing requires all hands paws on deck, and as the digging expert I’m always involved with it comes to holes on the farm.
Trooper on the other hand just likes to nap in the sun. To each his own. Happy warm fall day to all!

So I might be a little behind on the internet craze with the music video, What does the fox say, but I’ve totally been singing along to it’s catchy tune since last week. So catchy in fact that I dug out my “fox” costume and had a little fun.

I heard it was Movember, you know the month formally known as November in which men all over grow mustaches in support of men’s health issues. (You can even sign-up to help raise funds)
Of course I started early, and I’ve already got the most luscious mo’ you could ever imagine!
In fact I’m so great at growing mustaches that I just might grow a different one each day!

You might have noticed that some of my photos have been looking a little bit different lately.
Dare I even say a bit more “professional”?
No, I haven’t hired a professional photographer, mom has just been getting a little camera happy after she purchased me some studio backdrops…..fancy right?
It’s the perfect excuse to have a little photoshoot! And while we’re still just using natural light to snap my photos, mom hopes maybe someday we’ll add some real studio lighting to the mix for an even more professional look!
For now I’m just enjoying feeling like a celebrity and practicing for when I have my own big deal modeling gig!
Pretty soon the paparazzi is gonna start following me around and I’ll be as big a deal as the Kardashians!
But don’t worry, when I’m uber famous I’ll still be the same old cowboy I’ve always been!
And perhaps you’ll fall in love with me even more!
But for now I’m quite content just being me, the King of my own backyard!
Yesterday I shared my homemade Halloween costume for this year, and today I thought it would be fun to share some of the details from my annual Halloween Party!
As you know I dressed as Raphael from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but for the party I added an extra special accessory. My red mini glowdoggie was the perfect accessory, and as a bonus it kept me safe too.
One year during our annual Halloween party I happened to escape out the front door, but thankfully I was wearing my Glowdoggie, so I wasn’t lost in the dark for long. So now every time we have a party my Glowdoggie is a necessary accessory!
I was so excited to show off my costume to all my friends, but of course everyone was fashionably late!
My dad dressed as Mr. Clean, even going as far as to shave his head! Now that’s Halloween dedication.
Mom was Inspector Gadget, and I was just really bummed that her go go gadget helicopter didn’t actually work!
We were all decked out and ready as the first party guests started to arrive.
I was excited to see my pal Trooper showed up dressed as a soccer player, but I really couldn’t figure out why he kept screaming GOOOOOAAAALLL all night long when the soccer ball was tied to his own back!
Trooper loved my costume and was convinced I had pizza hiding under my turtle shell, so all night long he kept checking!
As more and more guests started to arrive I was excited to see that we even had a horse guest! Now the party was really getting started!
We partied and partied and then partied some more, but wouldn’t you know, my pal Trooper was the first one to hit the floor. He just can’t hang like I can!
As my guests headed home for the night the spooky figures in the front windows of my house waved goodbye….I’m pretty sure some of the party goers had nightmares!
I’m sad that the Halloween season is coming to an end, but I’ll have one last hurrah tonight as I bark at all the trick-or-treaters!

Ok so it’s one more day until Halloween, but I just couldn’t wait any longer to reveal my 2013 Halloween Costume!
Fittingly I decided to dress as another Hero of sorts, Raphael the Ninja Turtle, who even happens to be named after a famous painter. So I thought it was pretty appropriate that I chose to dress as him, since I am a painter as well!
Now being a Ninja Turtle doesn’t come without it’s own set of responsibilities. I don’t just carry around my Sai’s for fun, I have to protect the city from bad guys, specifically Shredder!
While I’m fighting crime my mask helps to protect my identity, although I’m pretty sure there aren’t too many masked turtles running around the city, but nonetheless!
I’ll let you in on a little secret though, the real reason I chose to dress as a Ninja Turtle is I hear they get all the pizza they can eat!
Weapons, pizza, and heroes – now that’s my kind of costume!
I even have an awesome turtle shell that my mom made to protect me from attacks! (and special thanks to Rebel Wag for custom making me my turtle hoodie) I’m totally ready for battle!
So when the darkness creeps in tomorrow on Halloween, you better watch out…..
….because nobody, and I mean nobody, is gonna touch my pizza while I’m on duty!
