Yesterday I shared my homemade Halloween costume for this year, and today I thought it would be fun to share some of the details from my annual Halloween Party!

As you know I dressed as Raphael from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but for the party I added an extra special accessory. My red mini glowdoggie was the perfect accessory, and as a bonus it kept me safe too.

One year during our annual Halloween party I happened to escape out the front door, but thankfully I was wearing my Glowdoggie, so I wasn’t lost in the dark for long. So now every time we have a party my Glowdoggie is a necessary accessory!

I was so excited to show off my costume to all my friends, but of course everyone was fashionably late!

My dad dressed as Mr. Clean, even going as far as to shave his head! Now that’s Halloween dedication.

Mom was Inspector Gadget, and I was just really bummed that her go go gadget helicopter didn’t actually work!

We were all decked out and ready as the first party guests started to arrive.

I was excited to see my pal Trooper showed up dressed as a soccer player, but I really couldn’t figure out why he kept screaming GOOOOOAAAALLL all night long when the soccer ball was tied to his own back!

Trooper loved my costume and was convinced I had pizza hiding under my turtle shell, so all night long he kept checking!

As more and more guests started to arrive I was excited to see that we even had a horse guest! Now the party was really getting started!

We partied and partied and then partied some more, but wouldn’t you know, my pal Trooper was the first one to hit the floor. He just can’t hang like I can!

As my guests headed home for the night the spooky figures in the front windows of my house waved goodbye….I’m pretty sure some of the party goers had nightmares!

I’m sad that the Halloween season is coming to an end, but I’ll have one last hurrah tonight as I bark at all the trick-or-treaters!

Shilah the Husky goes Pink with Glowdoggie

Well I guess that is until you see our outtakes, in my defense a bug flew in my mouth, and Shilah thought she saw a bird!

One of my FAVORITE things to do on the farm is to hunt. You have not lived until you get to go out in search of critters.

I typically set out in search of critters just as the sun is beginning to set. Mom makes me wear my Glowdoggie collar on my evening hunts because she says I wander too far sometimes and she can’t find me in the dark without it. I’m fairly certain the neighbors think our farm is possessed by aliens that come out at night with glowing lights and scuttle through the pastures.

Fetching Finds: My New Voyager Jackets

Don’t worry, I’m not packing my bags and moving north to become an Eskimo.

Nope, I’m just modeling my new jackets that mom got me from Voyagers K9. You might remember that I posted about them a few weeks ago (which you can read here).

Well my mom thought I could use a little wardrobe update this winter so she contacted them and ordered me two custom made coats to fit me exactly.

Since I’m too big to fit into their mini dachshund coat I had to send in custom measurements. So after Voyagers K9 got all my measurements, mom ordered me a winter coat and tummy warmer in yellow and she even had them put in an opening for my harness on the winter coat.

Last night I got to put my coats to the test out on the farm and since I figured some of my canine friends might be in the need for a winter coat this year too I thought I’d share a little review for you!

Pros:

Very warm, especially when you layer a tummy warmer & winter coat
Fits me like a glove and is exactly the perfect length
Love the hood on the winter coat because I can cover up my ears when it’s really cold
Seams & velcro seem strong
Not too bulky and it’s easy for me to move around in
I can still fit my glowdoggie collar over top of the hood so I’m safe in the dark
The coats make me look oh so stylish

Cons:

I couldn’t order any of the coats with a d-ring sewn onto the outside
Optional harness opening in winter coat is too high near my neck, meaning I can’t wear my custom harness from my pal Baxter’s mom because the d-ring is too far down my back. But it was at a nearly perfect position to work with my Puppia harness that I have.
They couldn’t put a harness opening in the tummy warmer, but the neck opening sits a little farther back so I can still reach my d-ring if I wear a harness under the tummy warmer. (I could also probably fit a harness on top of the tummy warmer since it’s thin enough).
The coat doesn’t go in between my legs like some of the other coats I have, although I feel like I can move a little easier without any fabric there. Time will tell if it keeps me warm enough in the snow without something to protect my chest.

UPDATE – apparently there was a slight mix-up and my coat actually didn’t come with a harness hole, what I actually thought was a harness hole was a hole for a collar. So I think with a harness hole put in it will be at a better position to be used with my custom made harness. I’ll update everyone as soon as I get to test it out! Yipee!

Overall I think my new coats are the perfect addition to my winter wardrobe. We’ll see how long they can hold up to the rigors of farm life!

P.S. Don’t forget Voyagers K9 can make custom coats to fit any size dog, even mixed breeds!

The Adventures of Rocket Dog

Ever since my mom made me my very own rocket pack I’ve been itching to have some Halloween adventures! So it was just my luck when we hosted a SUPER HERO Halloween party at my house last weekend.

I of course dressed up as Rocket Dog, complete with my led glowdoggie collar too!

And I think mom was jealous of my rocket pack, so she made herself one too and dressed up as the Rocketeer.

Dad on the other hand went the more obscure route and dressed up as Captain Hindsight (honestly no one was really sure who he was). In hindsight he probably should have been something everyone was more familiar with. hehe.

Of course I had to invite my best friend Trooper to the party. And wouldn’t you know he dressed up as his favoritest Super Hero of all…..ME!

I spent most of the evening contemplating when my big adventure might happen and just at the right moment I rocketed out the front door with my rocket pack when mom and dad weren’t looking. hehe.

All the super heroes at my party went running through the neighborhood trying to catch me as I zoomed about with my rocket pack. Mom says thankfully they were able to spot me easily with my glowdoggie collar on and Captain Hindsight (aka dad) jumped in a briar bush after me. Sadly I snagged my rocket pack on something in the woods and my amazing Halloween adventure came to an abrupt end.

I was pretty bummed about losing my rocket pack, but atleast it was fun while it lasted!

Epic Battle

Me and Trooper were hanging out at the farm last night, picking up leftover grain under the feed tubs, when we suddenly remembered we had something really important to do.

We had an epic battle to attend to….of Jedi vs. Jedi in an ultimate lightsaber battle of wits!

Let the battle begin!

It was pretty intense, so I had to take frequent refueling breaks at the water bowl. A Jedi can’t fight thirsty afterall.

The battle lasted for hours…although we could have gone on for days. But in the end….

….somehow we both ended up snuggled next to each other on the couch. Honestly, I have no idea how we got there – it must have been one EPIC battle!

Birthday Week: More Gifts!

Just when I thought there were no more presents to be had during Birthday week I got an extra special surprise in the mail all the way from Canada!
