On hot days there really isn’t anything else better than hitting the pool to keep cool.
Lucky for me my sister loves pool days too, so I’ve got a best friend to keep me company while we float around.
And with one mention of watermelon by mom…..our hot summer day is complete!

This first year of my sister’s life has been filled with many firsts (holy cow can you believe she’ll be a year old very very soon), and just like any good brother I’ve been there for most of them. I was there when she laughed for the first time while watching me shred up paper and when she crawled for the first time towards me – so it’s only natural that when she finally took her first steps they would be in my direction!
At 9 months and 28 days Baby P took her first steps across the room to bring me a pair of her cowgirl boots. While no one was able to capture these initial first steps on camera, they did get the next few after that!
In just a few weeks she’s already cruising all around the house now – and I’m the one that can’t keep up with her!
I can’t wait to see what she learns next. Perhaps it will be how to get the cookies out of the cookie jar for me.
I bet you can tell by my excited zoomies here that I recently got to go on a lake day adventure!
And yes, I brought along my favorite little sidekick, Baby P! Of course she met the lake and powered right in (girl after my own heart)!
In fact, she acted like the cold water didn’t even bother her!
I was slightly worried she might just start swimming away…..without me!
So I had to jump in too. Just so she knew I wasn’t a total wimp.
After my fun in the lake I met a new friend. I was so excited to play with him I could hardly wait.
Only neither of us could get it together properly and he ran one way and I ran the other way, and our fun playtime ended up with both of us confused and lost. Sigh.
After all that fun in the lake I started to get a little chilly. My towel wasn’t quite doing the trick but that’s ok, because….
…rolling on your back in the sun always fixes everything!

Today is a very special day. No I didn’t get a new puppy sibling, this adorable picture is of my best pal Trooper when he was just a wee pup! And today is his 10th Birthday!!! Can you believe it?
Trooper is my oldest friend, and the very first dog I met when my parent’s adopted me. He’s taken care of me since day 1 and I’m so lucky to have him in my life.
Over the years Trooper and I have shared pretty much everything. From apples…
…to adventures….
….and the occasional kiss.
But I do draw the line at sharing my treats with him. Sorry Bud.

It’s Fri-Yay! And today I leave you with something to make you smile for the rest of the weekend. Well, mom says it makes her smile – personally it makes me wish I was outside rolling in a pile of stink instead of sitting in a bubble bath with my sister. To each his own.
At least one of us is enjoying it.

While it’s true that Baby P and I have already been on so many adventures together (I did after all take her on her very first 14 hour road trip), it wasn’t until fairly recently that she REALLY started taking an interest in me. Yes, she’s loved me from day 1, but now she actually plays with me!
I’m so excited to have a playmate, and I’m teaching her all of my favorite games (barking and tug of war mainly), just see for yourself:
I’m going to have to order her a super hero cape to match mine soon, because boy are we going to have lots of super things to do in our future together!

Lately I’ve been very very busy. Not the kind of busy where you have a mile long to-do list, but the kind of busy that just makes you want to drop everything and soak it all in. I’ve been very busy making memories with my family!
From my little sister’s first crawl (which not to brag, but she didn’t crawl towards mom and dad, no instead she crawled towards me!!), and sledding with my cousins and ponies – these are the memories that I’m going to treasure forever.
Yup, this one is totally for the scrapbook!

So every time I turn around lately it seems my sister is eating. For someone so tiny she eats so very frequently. Lucky!
I also started to take note that said eating was very very messy.
Now occasionally this messiness would end up on the floor (score!), but most of the time mom whisked it away before I could get so much as a lick. And more often than not it was the icky stuff anyway (you know, the vegetables).
As the weeks passed I decided to take matters into my own paws.
But I guess they call them high chairs for a reason! And I wasn’t really getting that much closer to my end goal.
But then one day, as luck would have it, I noticed a tiny little hand peeking down from the high chair.
My sister was sharing. IT. WAS. GLORIOUS.

Now that I’m the coolest big brother ever, it’s come to my attention that to be EVEN cooler (if that’s even possible), that I need to practice my “nursery rhymes”. My sister likes when I “sing” to her, and she likes it even more when I dig holes. Well, this is perfect, because I have just the song to sing her in preparation of Spring (aka Groundhog season).
