It’s come to my attention that I never properly shared my new little sidekick’s bedroom. After all, it took mom and I a really long time to get it just right.
So come on in, and welcome to the Princess’ Castle!
This is the room where my sister’s dog crate resides. I still haven’t figured out why she hasn’t jumped out of it yet!
Although I’m pretty sure it won’t be long before she breaks out of her crate at night, because the artwork above her is totally accurate. I’m also fairly confident in saying that she’s so fierce that her “bark” might even be louder than mine!
Even if she does break out though, I’ll be right here waiting.
Waiting to make sure she doesn’t touch my toys, or my dog bowl, or my favorite pillow on the couch.
Yup, that’s definitely the face of a little sister that’s going to escape her dog crate. I knew it.
Looks like we won’t be getting any sleep again tonight pony.

So what did you think of my little sister’s castle? Do you think she’ll like how I decorated it (as you may notice there are MANY pictures of the one and only me in her bedroom)!
Well, Christmas at my house came and went, and it was a fantastic whirlwind of wrapping paper, family and plenty of fun! And since I know you don’t want to feel like you missed the fun, I decided to share a recap of all my adventures.
This year of course was extra special because I got to share my Christmas morning with my new little sister, Baby P.
I helped her open all her presents from Santa, and explained to her why we aren’t supposed to be super excited when we get socks in our stocking. (although I’m pretty sure that lecture when right over her head!)
And then I helped Baby P open a very interesting present….
….it was another me!!!
I wasn’t really sure how I felt about it at first. I mean was Santa trying to replace me?
But as the day went on I realized he wasn’t all that bad. I mean after all we now out number the babies in this house….which means when it comes to take a vote on whether we go to shopping at Petco vs. Babies R’ Us me and my little sidekick here will win every time!
Christmas morning at my house was full of wonderful memories. And in case you are wondering, yes, I got lots of presents from Santa!
Christmas didn’t end there though, because my family and I were off to celebrate with all of our extended family. We ate, exchanged gifts, and created even more memories.
And when my cousins got into town, you know things got crazy!
And that my friends, is another Christmas come and gone!
What about you? What was your favorite Christmas memory this year?
Every year I like to plant a vegetable garden. After last year’s winter my usual veggie spot was looking a bit sad. Nothing a little gardening re-model couldn’t fix though!
My handy Dad got to work right away with a new plan so mom and I don’t have to pull weeds anymore…woohoo! Mom of course had to sit this one out, since apparently heavy lifting is frowned upon when you’re growing a baby.
Eventually (thanks to dad’s hard work) my new garden boxes started to take shape and it was time to get the dirt! (my favorite part)
I tagged along to help mom and dad pick up garden soil so my plants could grow big and strong.
While dad shoveled all the dirt into the garden boxes I stood guard to make sure no critters got in the way of our hard work. It’s pretty much a full time job.
The soil went in and I could hardly wait to get my plants into the ground. I’ve been saving bits of kibble all year to plant my kibble tree!
With soil in the boxes the garden was looking mostly finished….now it was time to plant!
After mom picked up some plant starts at the store I helped put everything into the boxes. Now all we have to do is wait for them to grow big and strong, and keep the critters from eating them! Don’t worry though, I know just the dog for the job!
Does your dog involve themselves in your home projects like I do?
Disclosure: This post and giveaway is brought to you by Vimtag. All opinions are my own, and I only share products I think you and your dog will love!
Ever since this Wireless Video Monitor from Vimtag showed up at my house last year I’ve found myself “in the doghouse” on several occasions. And since you guys seem to love hearing about my “bad dog” antics, I’m back with another installment of my recent “caught on camera” moments!
Now if you don’t remember, the Vimtag Wireless Monitor is a camera the connects to your homes Wifi and allows your parents to check up on you from anywhere they want via their smart phone. Yeah, so you can see why I’ve gotten caught in a few “sticky” situations lately.
Recently they caught me red handed….
When packages arrive at the house I don’t really care who they are addressed to, anything is fair game. I just assume even if it’s not meant for me I might find the contents inside useful anyway.
Too lazy to wander into the kitchen to find my water bowl, I’m totally not above taking a drink out of the convenient fountain in the bathroom. After all, it is closer to my giant dog bed in the master bedroom!
I couldn’t really deny any of these naughty acts when mom came home with time stamped images from the Vimtag App as proof…
P.S. While it’s not to say that I’m always a perfect angel, these “caught on camera” scenes are dramatizations all in the name of good fun! (Although I won’t say I’ve never been caught doing something I shouldn’t!)
Now you may recall that way back in July of last year I embarked on a big endeavor to help my mom and dad redo our family kitchen. You see, it wasn’t very pretty to look at from the start…
Closed off and cramped, there wasn’t much room for activities in there, so starting in July my family decided to change all that!
Over months of hard work I helped dad work on demo, electrical, plumbing, painting, and drywall, and I even helped to install the brand-new cabinets.
So while I can’t say the kitchen is 100% complete (is a DIY project ever complete?) as we still have a tile back splash to install, and a few last items to hang on the walls…..it’s done enough that I couldn’t wait to share the finished details with you (oh 8 months later!). So without further ado, here’s my brand- new kitchen!
Of course no kitchen would be complete without an ENTIRE CLOSET filled with all your dog’s gear (I’m pretty sure we all know who rules this household!)
So what do you think? Did my dad not do a super job building my brand-new kitchen? With the exception to the cabinets, countertops & new wood flooring everything was DIY’d, and I’m pretty sure with all the trips to Lowes I made over the past few months that I’m basically an expert in construction now!
Now I’ve got to hit the hardware store and pick out some tile for that backsplash! The work of a DIY Dachshund is never done!
Even thought Christmas has come and gone, I haven’t forgotten about sharing just what sort of adventures I went on during my holiday break! So here’s my fun recap of all things Christmasy…
My Christmas eve started off pretty uneventful, as I still had to fulfill my shop dog duties for all the customers that needed to pick up their picture framing.
But eventually it was time to head over to Trooper’s house at the farm so that I could celebrate with him and my extended family.
I got busy right away helping to clean up around the kitchen. (apparently Trooper is slacking on his floor licking duties).
But elsewhere, the tree decorating fun was well underway! (and let’s be honest, my 6 foot 3 Uncle Taylor was much more suited for putting the angel on top than short little me)
The rest of the night consisted of gift giving, sock stealing (on Trooper’s part), good times with my family, and maybe just a few naps too. Before I knew it, it was time to head home so that Santa could bring me some presents!
When I woke on Christmas morning I was so excited! Honestly, I wasn’t sure if Santa would bring me anything after I caught that bunny in the backyard, and got on the dining room table to steal food (oops). But I guess my “goodness” outweighed the bad this year, because he brought me lots of fun presents!
From a December Barkbox filled with fun treats and toys….
My favorite new toy though, the Bouncing Squirrel Tail mom and dad bought me from the Barkshop! (you can snag one for your pup from the Barkshop with code AMMO for a FREE PRIZE at checkout). I’ve been having a blast with my new toy over the past few weeks!
Christmas is always an exciting whirlwind, and just as things were winding down mom and dad said we had to get ready to go to my MomMom & PopPop’s house.
I always love going to MomMom & PopPop’s house, because without fail, PopPop always manages to “drop” food on the floor. 😉
There was also plenty of time for more gift giving and playing with my cousins too (who coincidently also LOVED my new Bouncing Squirrel Tail too).
Christmas with my family is always a special time. Despite my excitement about all the gifts and food, my very favorite part is getting to be with the one’s I love.
Of course if you know me and my family, then you know that even though Christmas was over, the fun never stops at my house. The day after Christmas I was hitting the hiking trail with more of my family! After all, we had to burn off all those Christmas dinner calories we had the day before!
I’m already counting down the days until next Christmas! What sort of fun did you have for the holiday?
It wouldn’t be a shocker if I told you that my mom and dad have amassed thousands and thousands of pictures and video of me over the years. Sometimes those pictures and videos make it onto my blog, and sometimes they just sit on the computer – tiny little tidbits of my everyday life to look back on and smile.
I thought it would be fun to share some of those unseen tidbits. A little glimpse into what everyday life is for me, playing with my toys, greeting people at work, hanging out on the farm – even the mundane can make me appreciate how very lucky I am.
So enjoy this fun little compilation video made up of clips from the past week or two…
