Super Pony DVD Release!

The day has finally come! It’s time to announce the official release of the brand-new Super Pony DVD, staring the talented Minnow from Painting Pony…..and ME!

Thanks to my talented Uncle Taylor and Depthink Productions, we began filming for the DVD this past summer, and I’m so excited that it’s finally ready to share with everyone!

ON THIS DVD

Trainer, Kyley DiLuigi, introduces us to Super Pony, the alter ego of the talented Chincoteague Pony, Minnow! Watch as he shows us some of his favorite trick performances, many of which have been performed at expos, fairs, schools, and even the Annual Chincoteague Pony Penning. Several performances also include Minnow’s lovable sidekick, Ammo the Dachshund, as well as other members of the Painting Pony crew. In addition to 5 featured videos, this DVD also contains 2 bonus videos: a visit to Iron Horse Farm, home to the Painting Ponies; and a talk given by Kyley about everyone’s favorite Chincoteague Pony, Misty of Chincoteague.

PAINTING PONY

In 2007, Painting Pony was founded when Kyley DiLuigi decided to bring her paints from art school out to the farm where she kept her 14-year-old pony, Minnow. That cold winter day Minnow became the World’s First Painting Chincoteague Pony as he created his very first masterpiece. As it became evident that Minnow had a gift that he truly loved, the paintings he created began to pile higher and higher. Feeling the need to share Minnow’s art with the world, Kyley started PaintingPony.com and the rest is history!

The Year in Pup Culture, Starring Ammo!

Ok, well maybe I won’t be the “star” per say, but I am in fact going to be on an upcoming television show on Animal Planet this month!

I bet you didn’t know you were in the presence of a celebrity! In fact, I’ve actually been on national television several times before.

First a clip of my pal Minnow and me aired on Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Dogs:

Then in 2010 a clip of me and my girlfriend, Cricket, appeared on Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Cats:

Set to air on Saturday, December 22 9PM (ET/PT) a clip of me and my partner in crime, Minnow, will appear on the show THE YEAR IN PUP CULTURE.

It’s an action-packed hour of non-stop, over-the-top cuteness (probably because I’ll be in it). THE YEAR IN PUP CULTURE looks back at the defining moments of 2012 as only Animal Planet can — with puppies! These adorable pups reenact the most memorable moments of the year, including scenes from top blockbuster movies and ripped-from-the headline bits. If these moments piqued public interest in 2012, they are getting “puppified” in the cutest hour on television.

So set your DVR’s, ready the popcorn, and be on the lookout for a short clip of me and my pony friend!

The other morning on the farm things were looking a bit eery.

The fog rolled in over the hills and I could barely see in front of my nose.

I felt like I was on another planet as the sky molded into the ground and each step I took had me wondering what was on the other side.

As I drifted around the farm I began to think that this fog could be of no use to me what-so-ever.

But I shouldn’t have been so quick to to judge because Cricket reminded me that fog was one of the best type of “weather conditions” to go hunting in.

And that is why Cricket is my girlfriend! Love ya girl!

Busybody

Okay, okay…..so maybe as soon as the horses are turned out for the night I sneak into their stalls and sniff every square inch to find out what went on while I wasn’t looking.

Frankenstorm

Most of you have heard that Hurricane Sandy aka Frankenstorm has been barreling it’s way towards the east coast. Being that I live in Pennsylvania, the hurricane was set to hit my area on Monday evening with full furry.

I made lots of preparations like tucking my ponies safely into the barn, sandbagging up mom’s shop in town, and making sure I had plenty of kibble and water.

I battened down the hatches and prepared for the looming Frankenstorm to approach.

Trips to the farm in the wind and rain to keep my ponies safe were inevitable, but I tried my best to stay warm.

I hope everyone that the hurricane has effected has stayed safe, and I’ll be sure to update everyone on how I weather the storm just as soon as it moves out of my area (hopefully by wednesday).

**update** I made it through the storm, and although I did lose power around 9pm at night it did come back a few hours later. My house faired well with just some down leaves and a few branches but the farm is still without power. I’ll be heading out soon to check on mom’s shop in town – and we’re hoping the water from the Brandywine River didn’t flood the area. I hope everyone else stayed safe!

One of my FAVORITE things to do on the farm is to hunt. You have not lived until you get to go out in search of critters.

You can always tell when I’m on the hunt because my tail will stand straight up.

I typically set out in search of critters just as the sun is beginning to set. Mom makes me wear my Glowdoggie collar on my evening hunts because she says I wander too far sometimes and she can’t find me in the dark without it. I’m fairly certain the neighbors think our farm is possessed by aliens that come out at night with glowing lights and scuttle through the pastures.

After the timber frames arrived for Trooper’s new Post and Beam house the other day I was anxiously waiting to see what the finished product would look like. So when I arrived at the farm I was thrilled to see that the crew had managed to get most of the beams into place.

Trooper’s house made me feel so teeny tiny – something I have grown quite accustomed to over the years.
