Even though I’m on a bit of a blogging vacation, I just couldn’t in good conscience leave without sharing the very last monthly update for my little sister now that she’s officially 1 year old!

On August 7th my sister celebrated an entire year of life, and it’s hard to believe that it’s been an entire year since she changed my life completely.

Not gonna lie, it was a big adjustment at first, but I’m really starting to enjoy the sweet hugs my sister gives me and our night time tug-of-war ritual.

…but at the end of the day she’s my very biggest fan, and I can’t imagine my life without her now.

I have a feeling that my days of princess dress-up and Disney movies are just around the corner. And I’m totally ready!

Lucky for me my sister loves pool days too, so I’ve got a best friend to keep me company while we float around.

First Steps

You are my Sunshine

This first year of my sister’s life has been filled with many firsts (holy cow can you believe she’ll be a year old very very soon), and just like any good brother I’ve been there for most of them. I was there when she laughed for the first time while watching me shred up paper and when she crawled for the first time towards me – so it’s only natural that when she finally took her first steps they would be in my direction!

At 9 months and 28 days Baby P took her first steps across the room to bring me a pair of her cowgirl boots. While no one was able to capture these initial first steps on camera, they did get the next few after that!

In just a few weeks she’s already cruising all around the house now – and I’m the one that can’t keep up with her!

I can’t wait to see what she learns next. Perhaps it will be how to get the cookies out of the cookie jar for me.Ammo the Dachshund // Blog Signature // Celebrity

Adventures of Ammo & Baby P: Vol 10

It’s happened again. My little sidekick turned a whole month older! And a whole lot has changed in just one month.

Baby P suddenly doesn’t seem so “baby” anymore. She now waves hello and goodbye to me, can give me high-fives, and even claps when I do something extra goofy. (which is like all the time apparently).

But the biggest change….Baby P is now WALKING! Yes, that’s right. Just a few days shy of turning 10 months she got those first few steps in. And can you guess what she was walking to? That’s right, me! (I’ll have to share the video later….although my camera crew missed the very first ones…shame on them!)

Baby P’s favorite thing though….if you haven’t already guessed….dogs! She loves to “bark” woof woof excitedly whenever she sees a dog (or me), or even a picture of a dog. We should have expected nothing less, because I’m the coolest dog there is and it’s no wonder she thinks she’s a dog too!

Now that she’s getting increasingly mobile I definitely have to watch my back…

….and kisses seem to come out of nowhere!

Not to worry though, mom and dad are always right there yelling “gentle” the entire time. Hopefully soon she will get the hang of “closed mouth kisses” and “pinch-less hugs” so I won’t have to be on guard so much. At least I know she means well!

I have a feeling by next month I’ll have my backyard running playmate that I’ve been waiting for! I can’t wait!

Trooper’s 10th Birthday

Today is a very special day. No I didn’t get a new puppy sibling, this adorable picture is of my best pal Trooper when he was just a wee pup! And today is his 10th Birthday!!! Can you believe it?

Trooper is my oldest friend, and the very first dog I met when my parent’s adopted me. He’s taken care of me since day 1 and I’m so lucky to have him in my life.

Over the years Trooper and I have shared pretty much everything. From apples…

A few weeks ago I went on a fun day trip with my family. We packed up Baby P, Mom, Dad, my Nannie & Opa, my ponies and my best pal Trooper for a day at the beach!

When we got there the ponies set off on a ride along the beach while I stayed behind to help keep an eye on Baby P.

Only little did I know that I would end up tied to a tether in the sand because Dad said “I can’t keep an eye on both roaming munchkins”. (We all know he’s just not as good at multi-tasking as mom) ….Love ya Dad, but it’s true!

Baby P came to my rescue though and tried as hard as she could to free me. Alas, it was just not meant to be this time.

That’s ok though, a beach day is still a beach day and I used the opportunity to get some sun and some R&R.

Adventures of Ammo + Baby P: Vol. 8

Well, another month has passed and suddenly Baby P is 8 months old! My bestest buddy is growing up much too quickly, and already so much has changed in the last month.

With everyday that passes Miss P’s personality comes out more and more. And she definitely takes after her big brother (me), because she’s got a whole lot of sass and spunk!

We’re still thick as thieves, and since Baby P started crawling just after she turned 7 months – we’re both getting into lots of mischief now.

While we both like a lot of the same things (eating, exploring, and chewing on stuff), we do still differ in our love of naps. Miss P can go all day long with only two 30 minute naps, and I still need my 7-8 hour long naps! They might be pushing 9 these days though, because Miss P could run circles around me and she’s oh-so-exhausting.

But that’s ok, because when she’s awake she’s so much fun to play with. She even has a special name for me, “Nano” – pretty soon I’m sure it will sound more like Ammo, but for now Nano it is!
