I hear that this weekend a big snowstorm is headed my way. So far they are predicting 12 – 18 inches of the fluffy white stuff.
Don’t worry though, I’m totally prepared and have already readied my snow day outfit! Bring on Blizzard Jonas! After all, I’ve weathered my fair share of snow storms over the years….
You know, sometimes it’s the simple things in life that can bring you the greatest joy.
For example, a few weeks ago I happened across a field of buttercups while on a walk with my mom and dad. And what I did next instantly put a smile on my face…
And to get the full effect you have to run like no one’s watching.
Happiness is a field of buttercups to run through! What brings your dog happiness?

It’s no secret that I am OBSESSED with holes. After all, my breed was originally bred to go down holes and hunt down badgers.
And go down holes I do! My mom has had to pull me out of many ground hog holes around the farm over the years, and because of my affinity to go hunting whenever I feel like it I now wear a GPS tracker whenever I’m on the farm. While my tracker gives mom piece of mind, she’d still prefer my escapades kept me a little closer to the barn, which is why she decided to dupe me!
So I decided to share how my mom made me a DIY Fake Rabbit Hole so all you other dogs out there won’t get tricked like I did!
Here’s what you’ll need:
Rabbit Scent (or any other scent your dog might prefer)
Step 1: Choose a spot to dig a hole about 2 feet deep. Make sure you choose a spot where no one could fall in it (placing a marker when it’s done is helpful too). A spot near a bush or tree makes it more believable to your dog as well.
As you can see just the sight of a hole was enough to get me interested!
Step 2: Mix your Rabbit Scent with some water in a spray bottle and mist it into the hole. You can make it stronger by foregoing the water if your dog doesn’t seem interested.
Step 3: Tie a paper towel to a string and mist with the rabbit scent. Drag the towel to and from the hole to leave a scent trail for your dog to follow.
Trooper and I picked up on the rabbit scent trail right away.
But only one of us really cared…..I’m pretty sure you can guess who!
Well I feel pretty silly getting tricked with a fake hole, but I did have a really good time digging to my hearts content. So fake or not, I don’t regret it one bit. Well except for the fact that it landed me in the bath a few hours later!
Do you think your dog would be tricked by a fake scent hole?
*Be advised that fake animal scents can attract other wild animals as well. So be aware of where you are putting it, and make sure to supervise your dog especially if they are out at night.
Disclosure: This post is brought to you by my friends at Barkbox.
As you know Easter was this past Sunday. It’s one of my favorite holidays – as holidays that involve a bunny always make the top of my list! Alas though, when I woke up Sunday morning it seems I had just missed Mr. Bunny.
But don’t worry, because the very special BarkBox Bunny never seems to miss my house, and this year was no exception. Check out the fun video of me diving into my Easter Basket:
That Barkbox Bunny knows just what kind of goodies I love!
After opening my basket I packed up and headed over to my mom-mom’s house where I was put in charge of hiding the easter eggs for all of my cousins (on account of I’m very good at finding hiding spots – mostly of the hole variety!).
That’s right, they’ll never find this one!
My cousins are pretty good at finding easter eggs, but I couldn’t let them have all the fun!
Too bad all the eggs I found had jelly beans in them….yuck!
After the egg hunt it was time for dinner. Unfortunately my family forgot to set a place for me at the table! Can you believe it! Don’t worry though, I found the perfect spot to look pathetic and got handed plenty of little nibbles.
And after I was nice and stuffed one of my cousins volunteered to take me for a walk. I burned off all those calories in a matter of minutes hunting for more easter bunnies!
How did you spend your Easter with your dog?
P.S. If your pup missed out on the BarkBox Bunny, don’t worry, you have until April 10th to get your dog a box of goodies in the mail this month. And don’t forget to use code AMMO5 for an awesome 10% off your order!
Disclosure: This post and giveaway is brought to you by Snug-A-Bull. I only share products that I think my readers will love, and all opinions are entirely my own.
Today I have a really fun product to share with you that I think you (and your dog) are going to LOVE. The cute little hand knit item above is a snood from the talented Angela at Snug-A-Bull.
Just what exactly is a snood? Well essentially it’s a neck warmer and a hood for dogs that’s all wrapped in to one.
What’s a little different about the Snug-A-Bull snoods is that they can even come with these cute little ear holes to make sure they stay put on your dog.
You may have also noticed that my snood from Snug-A-Bull came personalized with my name on it. All their snoods can be personalized with not only names, but custom colors and sometimes even patterns too!
I even noticed on their website that they can ADD cute little fleece ears to their snoods (think adorable bear like hood on your pup) – I just might have to pick up one of those someday, because we all know I look fantastic dressed as wild animals.
My dark green and teal snood from Snug-A-Bull has come in handy lately, because even though it’s supposed to be Spring in Pennsylvania it’s still quite cold here (and we even got snow on the First Day of Spring!).
A fun little fact about Snug-A-Bull, their shop mascots are named Bruce Wayne and Alfred. As a dog who loves everything super heroes himself….that’s just so cool!
By shopping at Snug-A-Bull you can also help the animal rescues! This month all sales are benefiting the Alive Animal Rescue.
And now for the best part….

I’m sure it comes at no surprise that I’ve grown a lot in the past 6 years. So I thought it would be fun to share some of my puppy photos, because really…what’s cuter than a dachshund puppy?
Mom says I’m still the little spitfire I was back then, so it’s good to hear that some things never change.
