Adventure. It’s in my blood. For the past 8 years my mom and dad haven’t hesitated to decide on a whim, today is the day for an adventure.
And then my sister arrived, and I was a little worried all that adventuring was going to be over. I should have known I didn’t need to worry though, because my mom has always had a secret weapon when it comes to getting everyone out of the house for some fun.
That secret……bags! My mom has always left bags packed by the door ready to go with all the supplies needed for our next big adventure. In the summer we have a pool/lake bag with towels & life vests, and in the winter we have a bag with extra warm coats, and now with the addition of my sister there is need for even more bags!
Here she is packing up all my gear (and my sister’s too) to be ready for our next big adventure:
Mom and I have been loving the Jasper Swag Bag because not only does it have pockets for all my essentials (poop bags, extra id tags & collar, cookies – of course, water, bowl, etc), but it also fits some of mom’s gear like keys and mobile phone.
Mom loves the waist belt option too because it gives her more use of her arms, which apparently you can never have enough of when you have a baby sister and a dog to look after. I wouldn’t know since all I have are these paws.
So if you’re looking for a bag to make adventuring easier, then check out the full line of Jasper Swag Bags available at:
Last week a box filled with packing materials made its way into the shop.
Since I’m never one to pass up the opportunity to play in a box (don’t knock it until you try it!), I wasted no time in jumping right in.
Then I had a thought! Hey mom, since I’m already all packed up you might as well ship me to the nearest pet store. I’ll make sure to tell them to ship me back before dinner!
Last year I shared a collection of what I packed for a summer camping trip to the beach with my pal Shilah the Husky. Well this year I’m back to share my new packing list for a camping trip to the mountains that I’m taking with Shilah this upcoming weekend!
While I tend to pack a lot of the same things each time I head on a camping trip – there are a few things extra that I throw in when headed to the mountains (where I plan to do some hiking and water-related activities).
So here’s a list of a few of the things I plan to pack this weekend:
Last year for Thanksgiving I headed south to North Carolina to visit family. My road trip was so much fun that I’ve decided it was time for another adventure this Thanksgiving. So today I’m on my way (with Trooper too) to Charleston, South Carolina for a couple of days of fun with my family!
I’m sure my days will be filled with lots of adventure, I’m especially looking forward to playing on the beach with Trooper! Don’t worry, when I return I’ll be sure to fill you in on all the fun I’ve had, but in the meantime I’ll be sure to post pictures of my road trip on Facebook and Instagram as I travel.
And if anyone knows any fun dog-friendly adventures in and around the Charleston, South Carolina area post them in the comments section!
I’ve meticulously packed my bag with everything I might need for my trip. You can check out what I typically pack for a road-trip, and I always make sure to store the phone numbers for emergency vets in mom’s phone as well as bringing along my DIY Pet First Aid Kit.
I was also super excited when just in time for my trip my November Barkbox showed up at my door.
Packed full of goodies perfect for a Thanksgiving feast of my own I could hardly wait to dig right in!
Mom even set aside these Turkey chews for Trooper and I to have on Thanksgiving day!
Of course she let me have a little goodie before the trip to wet my whistle – even the dental chews were mighty tasty.
So if you want to pick a little goodie from Barkbox for your furry friend, you can get $5 off any new BarkBox subscription with code AMMO5
Disclosure: I received a Barkbox in exchange for my review. But all opinions are my own and I really think they’re great!
One of my favorite summertime adventures with my family is to go camping, and as luck would have it this weekend I did just that! You may have caught a glimpse of my outdoor activities this weekend on Instagram and Facebook, and while I promise a full recap of all my camping related fun, today I’d thought I’d share how I pack for a camping trip.
The key to summer camping with your four-legged companion is to make sure you bring plenty of items to keep them cool in the heat. During the day you can also choose camping activities that involve water (like swimming, kayaking, or boating) or shade (like hiking in the woods or geocaching). And when in doubt, wait for a cooler month to go on a camping adventure.
Guess what! I won’t be having to build any Super Forts in my basement anytime soon….because I’m traveling along with Painting Pony, Minnow, for our big trip to the PA Horse World Expo in Harrisburg, PA.
I’ve been helping mom pack the horse trailer all week – with what seems like the entire contents of Minnow’s bedroom. How many bags of cardboard bedding does he really need anyway?
I’m pretty sure we have everything for our trip….
…and perhaps a few stowaways too! (wouldn’t be the first time).
You can visit me at the Pa Horse World Expo Thursday – Sunday at booth #607 & 608 and also keep up with all of my adventures during the event on my Facebook page. Visit the blog next week to hear about all the fun I had!
I bet you’re wondering what kind of adventures I’m up to today!
Since you asked so politely, I’ll tell you. I’m busy packing, because me and Minnow the Painting Pony are headed to an event this weekend.
We’re going to have a booth at the Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show on Saturday AND Sunday! Minnow & I are going to be doing tricks all day long, and we’re both bringing some of our famous paintings that will be available to purchase. I’m even bringing my Christmas cards!
You can catch us on Saturday from 10 – 2pm (Minnow will do a special painting at 11am, 12pm, and 1pm) and on Sunday from 11 – 4pm (Minnow will do a special painting at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm).
We hope you’ll be able to make it, so I can meet all my friends in person!
But don’t worry, even if you can’t make the event – I always bring back lots of pictures and video! And don’t forget, I’ll be at the Chadds Ford Dog Days of Summer II event next weekend! Yeah!
