Today is my best friend Trooper’s 6th Birthday!
Trooper has been by my side since I was just a wee pup. He taught me everything I know, and protected me when I was too tiny to do so myself. In the past 6 years we’ve had so many adventures, and I can’t wait for all the fun that is still yet to come!
So Happy Birthday best pal!
xoxo,

Recently mom picked up a new toy for me called the Pickle Pocket; after hearing some rave reviews from some of my dog agility classmates. Designed for treat dispensing, I was eager to give it a try, especially after I’ve mastered and broken many a treat dispensing toys including kongs and my kicker box (which is far too easy for me now).
My new pickle toy is different from many of the other treat dispensers I’ve tried. This one contains three lengthwise slits across the product which are meant to hold your dog’s favorite snack or kibble.
Mom has been experimenting stuffing it with lots of different things like string cheese, peanut butter, cookies, dog food, and even hot dogs.
I can honestly say that this toy takes a bit of work to get the yummies out. Five cookies takes me about 20 minutes to eat – and I’m an expert at treat dispensing!
The Pickle Pocket also boasts that it’s virtually indestructible (so far it’s survived my shark-like teeth), FDA approved, floats in water, and is dishwasher safe.
Even though this toys takes a bit of work on my part, I’m not complaining, because a constant flow of cookies is NEVER a problem!

Every once in a while you get that itch. That itch to play and dart, and RUN!
And then just like that you’re off like a rocket. Faster than a speeding bullet you run, thinking maybe you’ll never come back.
But then mom digs around in her pocket and finds a leftover goldfish. Darn those gold fishes, they’re just so delicious.
And just like that you find yourself screaming…… “I’m coming mom, I’m coming…..don’t eat it…..I’m coming!”
Darn those gold fishes, they’re just so delicious.
Who doesn’t love a good dog toy? And when they make you giggle – it makes it that much better! Check out these silly pet toys from Crumbs Outfitters. Each toy is handmade with 100% all natural boiled New Zealand wool by Nepal Artisans.
You can fetch these adorably cute Boiled Wool Dog Toys at Crumbs Outfitters for about $12.

When my friends over at Chewy.com asked if I’d be interested in testing out their new line of Freeze-Dried Treats from Orijen, honestly, all I heard was treat!
These freeze-dried goodies come in a variety of flavors and are bursting with 100% pure and natural meats and nothing else.
These new treats from Orijen were light and fluffy and smelled delicious! They were small enough that mom said they would great to use as training treats – and can be easily broken into even smaller bites.
I’m not sure I’m thrilled about the “smaller bites” idea, but I was certainly thrilled to take these Orijen treats for a test run!
I’m pretty sure my lip licking says it all – these treats were to die for! Packed full of biologically appropriate meats that include free-run chicken and turkey, fresh whole eggs, free-range red meats and fresh saltwater & freshwater fish – these treats are the perfect thing to make sure that your pet is eating healthy.
Benefits
Being a dog (and self-proclaimed lover of meats), I can honestly say that the Orijen Freeze-Dried Dog Treats from Chewy.com really get my tail wagging! You can bet I’ll be begging mom to try all of their flavors, which you can shop for HERE.
Disclosure: I received a bag of Orijen Original Freeze-Dried Treats from Chewy.com for review, all opinions are entirely my own.

You might remember that back in November I posted a tutorial on how to build your own agility weave poles with the help of my friends at the Dog Agility Shop.
Well when winter rolled around I had to pack up my poles since it was just too cold to practice outdoors. That was until my dad surprised me for Christmas with a set of homemade 2×2 Weave Poles.
I’ve been using my set all winter, and I’m proud to say I can now weave, but I completely forgot to share how they were made with all of you! So better late than never – here’s my tutorial for building your own set of indoor 2×2 Weave Poles!
DIY Dog Agility 2×2 Weave Poles – Set of 6 poles
Supplies Needed:
Step 1: Cut your 3/4 inch PVC pipe into 6 pieces that are 38 inches in length. Then place the PVC caps on one end of all your poles. Then you can stripe your poles with colored duct tape to make them more visible.
Step 2: Cut your Steelworks Plated Slotted Flats into three 36″ length pieces and six 9″ length pieces.
Step 3: Drill a hole the same size as your carriage bolts into the bottom of the PVC Plugs.
Step 4: Place the 9″ Slotted Flat pieces on opposite sides and 6 inches from either end of your 36″ length slotted flat pieces. Place your carriage bolts through from underneath to hold them together, with the PVC plugs on top. Add your washers and hex nuts to the inside of the PVC plugs and tighten to hold them together.
Step 5: Slip the PVC couplings onto the bottom of your poles and then slide them into the PVC plugs that are attached to the Slotted Flat pieces.
Step 6: Lay out the Weave Pole Placer as a guide as to where to place your poles (you can opt to leave it under the poles or remove it after they are placed). Your poles will work best on a carpeted surface.
For a quick tutorial on how to teach your dog the weave poles using the 2×2 method check out the video HERE. You may want to find a dog agility trainer or class in your area for more detailed instructions.

Ok I admit, I’ve been kinda busy scouting my groundhog holes on the farm (now that Spring has sprung and the critters are out to play) and not enough time attending to my girlfriend, Cricket the farmcat.
So when I spotted Cricket’s attempt at giving herself a brush with one of the ponies’ brushes, I kinda felt bad.
Even though I felt a tad guilty, you can’t argue that she’s pretty inventive!
Just another reason why I’m proud to call Cricket my girlfriend!
