We’re a day away from Thanksgiving, and it has me thinking of all the animals out there that don’t have a family to spend turkey day with. I wish I could open my door to every single one of them, but since that’s just not feasible I know I can help to do my part through my efforts with the 13 Project.
A few weeks ago Serena from Pretty Fluffy had invited me to join The 13 Project, a wonderful initiative to get involved and help animals!

THE 13 PROJECT
The 13 Project is a Pretty Fluffy initiative that involves 13 acts of kindness towards animals before 2013. The goal is to emmbark on a list of 13 achievable and worthy goals before the year is out.
To join, all you have to do is come up with a list of up to 13 ways you can help animals before the end of 2013. You don’t need to be a millionaire, you don’t need to have a website, or be a member of a rescue organization … all you need is the desire to make a difference. Any little bit helps!
I’ve spent the last few weeks working on completing some of my goals, so I thought I would give everyone a little update on my progress so far.
My goals for the 13 Project….
1. Make a charitable contribution to some of my favorite rescue groups, as I have done for the past several years, through the help of sales of my paintings and artwork that my friends the Painting Ponies have made.
2. Get my photo taken with Santa at a place that donates the profits to rescue groups like I have done for the past 3 years.
3. Promote some local rescue group events to all of my followers through Facebook. I have shared a few rescue events with my fans so far, but hope to share even more!
4. Purchase some toys from Planet Dog, where 2% of my sale goes to the Planet Dog Foundation, an organization that helps fund the training and placement of service dogs.
5. Share some of the available adoptable dogs (like I have done in the past) at the local shelters with my followers. I shared a few of the adoptable pets at my local SPCA, and I hope to continue to share some of my four-legged friends that are in search of their forever homes.
6. Donate some of my old towels to a local animal shelter. I took a trip to the Chester County SPCA and donated a big box of unwanted towels and blankets.
7. Create Holiday Greeting Cards for my Etsy Shop and donate a percentage of the sales to animal shelters. My 2012 Holiday Greeting Cards donate 2% of all the proceeds to the Main Line Animal Rescue. The more you buy the more I can donate!
8. Promote responsible pet ownership and encourage my readers to spay/neuter their pets.
9. Donate some of my outgrown sweaters and jackets that I no longer use to a rescue group that can use them for shelter dogs. I recently sent a donation of sweaters and jackets to the Dachshund Rescue of Bucks County & New Jersey to keep the rescue dachshunds nice and warm. I encourage you to do the same!
10. Create a new page on the blog that highlights ways you can involved and help rescue animals, shelters, and good causes.
11. Purchase some Rescue Chocolate as Christmas gifts that donates 100% of their profits to animal rescues.
12. Try to promote more products on my Friday Fetch feature that donate a percentage of their sales to animal charities. Since I joined the 13 Project I am happy to say that just about every feature on Friday Fetch has helped out a rescue group/cause with the sale of their items.
13. Encourage others to get involved with the 13 Project! I’ve been pinning and sharing the 13 Project with all my fans!
I still have a ways to go to complete my list, but I’m making good progress! I hope you’ll join me in The 13 Project! Every year it’s tradition for Mom to help me make a Holiday greeting card to send to our friends and family. Last year I decided to spread the cheer to everyone and made my cards available to the public. So since Christmas is just around the corner I decided it was high time I revealed my 2012 Holiday Card Design…

You might remember that over this past year I’ve been accumulating paintings created by the talented Kim at Yellow Brick Home. First she painted a magnificent painting of me in my super hero cape, then she painted two super cool paintings of my favorite ponies, Minnow, Blitz and Boomer.
Then I realized I needed to make sure my bestest friend in the whole wide world wasn’t left out of all the fun! He is my best friend afterall. So just last week Trooper’s painting from Yellow Brick Home arrived in the mail!
It was just as glorious as I had imagined – especially since I had made sure he sent in the very best pictures of himself.
Of course I couldn’t let Trooper steal the spotlight for very long, and I photo bombed pretty much all of his photos that my mom took of him.
That’s what best friends are for!

P.S. Did you see that I wasn’t the only one that dressed as Wile E. Coyote for Halloween this year? My Canadian Pal Crusoe, the Celebrity Dachshund also broke out his Wile E. Coyote for all his fans. Although I hear he’s also having trouble with his Acme Rocket…..I knew we should have gotten the warranty!

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by my pals at Printcopia, an online resource for getting your photos made into canvas prints and other printed materials. They offered up an 11″x14″ canvas print, so I could take their services for a whirl. Being the art-loving pooch that I am, I surely couldn’t pass up the opportunity!
But before I could order my canvas print I had to choose which photo to use – not such an easy task when your parents take hundreds of photos of you on a weekly basis.
After pouring over thousands of photos of me I finally settled on this one taken during one of our big blizzards a few years ago. Adorable isn’t it? You can ooooh and ahhhh if you like.
Then I hopped on the computer and proceeded to go through the process of ordering my canvas print from Printcopia.
After uploading my chosen photo I had the option to resize it. I also noticed you can even easily upload photos from Instagram and Facebook, which makes the process even easier!
Then I selected a border option (I chose to mirror my image) for how my photo would look on the edges of my canvas & picked a display method too. Finally it was off to checkout, with the promise that a week or so later my new print would be arriving in the mail.
When my canvas arrived I could hardly wait to put it on display in my house! I love it so much that I’m already dreaming of which of my favorite Instagram photos I’d love to get printed to hang on my wall.

A long overdue post, I bet you guys are wondering what exciting things I did on my day of birth (October 5th). And more importantly, what goodies did Mom and Dad get me?
When it comes to presents, I’m an unwrapping fool! I can unwrap a present faster than you can blink – a glorious achievement!
After the chaos ensued, I was left with some lovely Birthday gifts from my very generous parents.
It was a very happy day.
My Birthday bounty included a new collar from Mattie & Margot, a lime green hand-knitted sweater from By Chance Designs, a jar of Pet Fair Noshers to fill my toys, a toy and bag of cookies from my bestest friend Trooper, and a Kicker Box.
I felt like the luckiest boy in the World! And after a little bit of celebratory barking, mom agreed to let me test out my new Kicker Box.
The Kicker Box is a toy designed to challenge a dog, and get them thinking as they try to figure out how to get the treats out of the box by moving the nobs from side to side and up and down. And after about 5 minutes, I knew why they called it a kicker box…..
….because I wanted to kick that dang box to the curb! Seriously, all I wanted was my cookies and this box was keeping them all to himself. This must have been some sort of cruel joke.
But since I’m a pretty smart guy, I eventually figured out how to move the nobs and release my treats. It’s still a cruel joke is you ask me though!
My 4th Birthday was loads of fun, and I’m so glad I got to celebrate it all week with all my friends. Now begins my countdown to Christmas, when I get to open all my presents from Santa! Yay!

My Birthday weekend was a whirlwind of opening presents, hanging out at the shop, running on the farm, and curling up at home.
I’m still recovering from all the fun, but I thought I’d give you a little taste of what I’ve been up to via my Instagram photos….
