Philadelphia born and raised (well close enough, as I grew up in the ‘burbs surrounding good old Philly), I was super excited to stumble across a local Philadelphia company, Duke & Winston, that was just oozing charm….of the dog kind.
A Philadelphia-based, casual clothing line for the modern gent (dogs and ladies included), their goal is to design clean & simple apparel for those who appreciate refined and practical clothing. Pretty much they are stylish and cool, and I’m drooling over their leather collars and doggie hoodies!
You can fetch your own Duke & Winston apparel HERE!
You might remember a few weeks ago when the fine folks over at CafePress offered up a giveaway to one of my lucky readers. Well they also offered me a chance to take some of their custom products for a spin too – so I’m back to share with you just what I ordered.
With the help of my personal designers (mom and dad) I used the Cafepress design tool and uploaded my logo for the pet tag and buttons. You can opt to upload an image or enter you own text and shapes with their design tools. I decided not to make my tag an “identification tag”, but instead just a little something something to add bling to my super hero outfit when I perform.
After uploading my designs for each item I checked them to make sure they would look right and not be cut off at all on the products.
Then a few short days later my custom items arrived in the mail! Yippee!
The pet tag came with a tiny clasp on it, but my hefty collar from Mattie & Margot was a bit too large for it to fit on. This was easily remedied with a Rubit clip (which I use on all my id tags anyway) that I had laying around the house.
So I pinned on my new button (which probably mom and dad will end up wearing most of the time – but I wanted to be the first to try it)….
….and snapped on my new tag to add that special bling bling to my Super Hero outfit.
You also may notice that I am wearing my gold letter A, which was the clear winner when I asked all of you which embroidered patch I should add to my costume! I agree, the gold is just the right color – thanks to everyone who weighed in with their vote.
I’m now ready for my big performance this month at the Spring Doxie Fest! I hope you’ll come meet me and see how stellar I look with all my new custom designed CafePress items!
I was browsing through some of my favorite online pet product retailers the other day when I stumbled across a line of modern dog bowls that are simply to die for. So I rounded up a few of my favorites from Waggo that I’m sure you’ll love.
I’m especially loving the chalkboard bowl and treat container – it holds a special place in my heart! Just check out the giant chalkboard canvas in my house!
You can fetch any of the fabulous modern dog bowls I’ve shared at Waggo!
P.S. A super happy shout out to my mom today on her 29th Birthday! I really hope you get that modern dog bowl you’re drooling over. *wink*
I’m very excited to welcome my new blog sponsor, K9 CarFence!
You might remember a couple of months ago I got to test out their K9 CarFence in my own car (you can read my review here).
I’m a huge advocate of keeping pets safe in the car (we’re all precious cargo now aren’t we?), and the K9 Carfence is one of those products that does just that! We should all be able to agree that allowing your dog to roam freely in the car while you are driving is not very safe, for you or your pet. With the K9Carfence you can still allow your dog that freedom in the car, while keeping them safe at the same time.
A few weeks ago I announced the launch of new notepads and fun little doxie pens in my shop, which you can see HERE. Well, mom and I decided why have only two designs when you can have three!
So with a little inspiration from yours truly, we came up with the Hot Dog notepad!
Mom drew the little hot dog shape, which by the way looks so so yummy!
Even the little doxie pen looks oh so fun to play with, but I’m still perplexed at how he can snap in half like that!
You can fetch your own hot dog notepads and pens in my etsy shop HERE. Maybe you can even mail me a love note!
For Christmas my Uncle Taylor and Aunt Laurel got me a really spiffy Dachshund clock. So spiffy that I decided to do a little research, where I discovered Allen Designs; makers of quirky dog clocks and so much more!
Artist, Michelle, tries to create art that is eccentric, witty, and unique. I poured through her online shop and picked out a few of my favorite canine clocks to share with you.
Aren’t they so fun? You can fetch your own dog clock and other fun items from Allen Designs HERE.
I had a wonderful group of entries in our K9 Carfence Giveaway, and I loved hearing about all the fun places everyone travels with their dogs. And more importantly I loved hearing how interested everyone was in keeping their pets safe!
Sadly we can choose only one winner this time, and our winner is:
Who says: My furry babies love walking the trails at a local park. They love it so much, in fact, that they can hardly contain themselves in the backseat. So this would be perfect!
But even if you didn’t win this time, you won’t have to go home empty handed! The wonderful people at K9Carfence would like to extend a special promotional price of $88 on their K9Carfence (plus shipping and sales tax where applicable) — this is a $21 savings off normal price of $109.
To get this special promotion price, simply send them an email at safe@k9carfence.com with the subject being the Ammo Special Price to get a K9 CarFence for $88. This offer will expire January 31, 2013 so act now!
Now that the winter weather is here, it’s time for me to really start bundling up in my layers, especially on the farm. One of the things that always plagues me is that I not only end up layering multiple coats to stay warm, but I also have to fit in a harness somewhere too.
So when I came across Richards Harness Coat I thought, now why didn’t I think of that!? Never mind the fact that I can’t sew (it’s those cumbersome paws)!
Featuring winter coats, rain coats, and more – all with built in harnesses – these coats come in a variety of sizes to fit small to large dogs. They even have extra long sizes, for all those extra long dogs!
You can fetch your own Harness Coat HERE starting at $21.95!

You might remember that a couple of months ago I featured a new product I had seen at an event called the K9Carfence, an in-car safety fence designed for small dogs.
Well recently the K9Carfence company offered me up a chance to take their product for a test drive.
At first I was a bit worried that I might have to give up the booster seat that I have been riding in since I was just a wee pup, but I was relieved to hear that my booster could easily fit inside the K9Carfence system.
The K9Carfence easily attaches to any front or back seat of a car (I personally prefer to ride in the back seat) to keep your dog protected and secure while riding in the car.
And while I prefer to put my booster seat inside the K9Carfence, you do have the option to simply let your dog move freely within the space. This would be great for dogs that don’t like to be confined while in the car, and still want to be able to look out of the window or easily change positions.
Should you need to take down the K9Carfence for any non-furry passengers, it easily unsnaps and can be pushed underneath a seat, leaving the seat protector in place and the seat belts still fully functional.
Or if you prefer, with a few more easy steps you can roll the entire K9Carfence into a neat little travel bag making it easy to transport into another vehicle or to stow away until you need it again.
Here’s a short video I shot while taking the K9Carfence for a test ride:
As you can see adjusting to the K9Carfence wasn’t even an issue for me, and although I didn’t test it out in any sudden stops (mom says she’s a very good driver and has a zero accident record – and I’m hoping she keeps it that way), it does seem like it would prevent me from flying around the car should we ever have an accident. And one can never be too safe when the lives of cute little Dachshunds are at stake!
Catches and cradles dogs in a soft strong net in case of sudden stops
Fast, easy, no-tools set up
Keeps your pet visible to you at all times with the see-through mesh
Keeps pets in a safe confined area and out from under car pedals or laps which can easily distract a driver
Can accommodate multiple dogs within one K9Carfence
Easy to fold up and move to another vehicle
We should all be able to agree that allowing your dog to roam freely in the car while you are driving is not very safe, for you or your pet. With the K9Carfence you can still allow your dog that freedom in the car, while keeping them safe at the same time.
So now it’s your chance to win your very own K9Carfence!
