Over the weekend I found myself on an obstacle course at the family farm. Designed to test the horseback riders’ ability to navigate a scary and complex course, I was excited to see how what kind of reaction my obstacles would produce.
When it became clear that not much seemed to worry these horse and rider pairs, I tried to up the anti by enlisting the help of a few groundhogs I know. Unfortunately they weren’t home at the time.
With the competition fierce I employed one last tactic…..creating an obstacle of my own!
Those ponies never saw it coming!

These jerky strips have a VERY strong odor to them. Now if you’re a dog like me, a strong odor like this is FANTASTIC, but if you have a weak human nose, well then you might not enjoy the odor as much.
Despite the strong odor, they were soft and chewy and as far as this dog’s tastebuds are concerned, delicious.
Because of the strong smell I was able to sniff these bad boys out even after mom put them away in her bag. Lets just say I tracked them down and ate a few more than I was supposed to before mom noticed.

I have a best friend, and his name is Trooper.
He’s silly and fun, and always knows how to have a good time. Plus he’s so much fun to wrestle with!
He’s great at keeping secrets, even if I’m not so great at keeping them.
We’re different, but the same, and I couldn’t be happier to have a best friend to grow old with.

Over the weekend I snuggled into my carseat for a 2 hour drive to New Jersey for a family reunion of sorts.
I was going to visit some extended family that I had never met before, and even some special relatives that would be visiting from Germany.
When we arrived Trooper (who tagged along as well) and I were excited to meet our distant relative, Angel the rescued Golden Retriever!
Trooper and I gave her a good sniffing and decided she smelled A-ok!
Then we wrestled! Well Trooper tried to wrestle while I faked playing dead until someone agreed to chase me around the yard (my favorite game of them all).
Angel proved to be a very fun playmate, and I’m pretty sure she had a little crush on me too (even if we are sorta family).
Eventually it came time for our visit to end, and Trooper and I to head back to Pennsylvania. It was hard to say goodbye to my family, and I think Angel was very sad to see us go. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for our paths to cross again!
It’s no secret that I’m no stranger to being in front of the camera lens. And frequently I’m asked how my mom gets me to pose so well for a photo – and honestly, it’s quite simple…
….COOKIES!
I’d do pretty much anything for a taste of cookie!
So next time you want your dog to sit still for a photograph, make sure you have your pockets filled with cookies! Your dog will thank you!
The cool weather is rolling in and it’s time to squeeze in those last little bits of summer. Ice cream cones and a dip in the pool seem like the perfect way to soak in every last bit of it. Before I know it it will be time to break out my sweaters!
